Sweden: Practitioner’s Speech Celebrating the 5th Year of Falun Dafa in Kalmar

Five years ago in August 1998, more than thirty Kalmar citizens joined the city’s first Falun Gong class. We, Falun Gong practitioners in Kalmar, are very grateful to have the opportunity to practise the exercises freely in Kalmar City Park, unlike out fellow practitioners in China. On the 9th August, we celebrated the fifth anniversary.

The annual Harbour Festival was held in Arvika city.On the Saturday evening, the Arvikan government gave Dafa practitioners 150 large candles to frame three Chinese characters: “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance”. These words illuminated the Harbour Festival and people’s hearts.

Belgium: Media continues to Show Great Interest in the Lawsuit against Jiang

Since the press conference held on 20th August, the Belgian media has continued to show great interest in the lawsuit against Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. A local practitioner was invited to join a national TV station’s live question programme, while another district TV station interviewed a practitioner at his home.

Latvia: National TV Channel 2 Screened a Truth-clarifying Video about Falun Gong

On the 23rd August 2003, Latvia’s national TV Channel 2 screened the film “Falun Dafa – The Path of Returning to the True Origin for Humankind” at 12:50pm. This allowed many Latvian people to learn more about Falun Gong.

Belgium: Major International Media pay attention to the Lawsuit against Jiang

On August 20th, six Falun Gong practitioners officially submitted a lawsuit to the Belgian federal court against Jiang Zemin for crimes against humanity and genocide. Major international media expressed their concern over the lawsuit including CNN, The Guardian, Reuters, AFP, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Sweden: People in Arvika City come to learn the Truth about Falun Gong

Because Dafa practitioners have worked hard to allow local people, the local government and the organisers of the festival to know the truth about Falun Gong, they were personally invited to join this big festival. The Falun Gong practitioners’ exercise demonstration and free Falun Gong exercise classes were arranged on each of the two days as part of the festival's main schedule.

Many people slowed down to read the boards with interest. Some people read the display boards and said that they felt indignant at the injustice and did not realize that such violations of human rights are still taking place in China. They said that without this Dafa activity, it would be difficult for them to learn the real situation from the media.

UK: Telling people the facts and promoting the Fa in the famous City of Bath

On August 16th, the sun shone brightly and the weather was fine. Practitioners from London, Birmingham, Oxford, Leicester, Nottingham, Cardiff, gathered in the King’s Parade in Bath to demonstrate the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, to display the information about Dafa, teach the Falun Gong exercises, collect signatures, and distribute various kinds of truth clarifying materials to passersby.

People there were happy to talk with us. They were delighted to receive the flyers and listen to the truth about the on-going persecution in China. Many people signed their names in the signature book to support the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, who is the main instigator of the persecution. Some said: “Those who are responsible for this persecution must be brought to justice."

Passers-by expressed their sympathy with the persecution that Falun Gong practitioners are suffering in China. They showed great interest in the lawsuits filed in many countries against the former Chinese President, Jiang Zemin, who is the prime culprit of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Many of them indicated their support for the legal actions taken by Dafa practitioners.

After we displayed banners, pictures of persecuted practitioners in China and information about the International Lawsuit against Jiang, people immediately came to sign our petition. We gave them materials and they were happy to receive them. When Chinese tourists saw our exercise demonstration, they accepted our newspapers and materials without worry.

Germany: First Public Performance of the Play “Suing Jiang” in German

A blue banner, with a German translation of “Suing Jiang Zemin for Genocide”, formed a stage curtain. Jiang was being charged with instigating the persecution against Falun Gong, which has now been going on for four years. Chinese practitioners acted as witnesses, giving evidence and recounting their horrendous memories from time spent in China’s labour camps.

At the very beginning, there were three young Chinese people standing at a distance from us and looking at us with suspicion. After talking to practitioners for half an hour, they came to our table to learn about the persecution of Falun Gong in China in detail. They told us that we should broadcast the truth about the persecution on TV.
