2008-09-18On August 30th, in Stockholm's financial district, Swedish Falun Gong practitioners placed banners reading "Northern European Quitting the CCP Centre", as well as display boards exposing the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong. A middle-aged woman from China on a business trip stood in front of the display boards watching for a long time. -
Russia: Introduce Falun Gong at the Moscow City Festival

Member of the European Parliament Requests Action from the EU over the Eutelsat Incident
2008-09-13The first Plenary Session of the European Parliament was convened in Brussels from the 1st to the 4th of September after its summer recess. Continuous concerns were expressed by the European Parliament Members over the incident of shutting down NTDTV television broadcast signals into Asia by Eutelsat. Mr. Bart Staes, MEP from the Green Party of Belgium, accepted an interview. -
Quotidiano.net (Italy): Appeal to Italian MPs to Rescue Falun Gong Practitioner Zhao Lizhuan
2008-09-11On August, 13th the website Quotidiano.net in Italy published a letter from a reader by the name of Zhao Lili. In the letter, he appealed to Italian Members of Parliament to rescue his brother Zhao Lizhuan, who is enduring persecution due to practising Falun Gong. He writes, "In late June, 2000, my brother was kidnapped by the police from his work place and illegally detained at the Fula'erji detention centre for 45 days. To force him to give up his belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, the police hung him up and cruelly beat his head and body with thick wooden sticks". -
Ukraine: Practitioners Protest against the CCP's Persecution at the Chinese Consulate in Odessa
2008-09-08On August 7th, practitioners protested at the Chinese Consulate in Odessa, condemning the CCP's cruel persecution of Falun Gong. They also disclosed to the people of Ukraine how the CCP violates human rights under cover of an apparently "harmonious" society and illegally arrested a large number of Falun Gong practitioners in the run up to the Olympics. -
United Kingdom: Practitioners Take Part in Aarati “Festival of Light” in Cornwall
2008-09-07On 31st August, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners from Devon and Cornwall took part in the first Aarati “Festival of Light” in Cornwall. The aim of the festival was to promote awareness of natural living. Italian News Agency Apcom: Eutelsat Blocks TV Signal for Economic Interests
2008-09-06On August 6th, Italian news agency Apcom reported that the Italian Falun Gong Association exposed that Eutelsat was pressured by Beijing and interrupted the broadcast by NTDTV, the world’s largest independent Chinese TV station. From June 16th, millions of Chinese families have not been able to watch NTDTV's broadcast. Eutelsat explained that, due to technical failures on the W5 satellite, they had to shut down the transponders. -
Russia: Falun Gong Practitioners hold Activities at a Carnival Celebration in Siberia
2008-09-05On August 8th to August 18th, Falun Gong practitioners from Krasnoyarsk and Abakan in Siberia participated in the annual Vissarionovtsev religious community carnival to introduce Falun Gong and the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong in China to local residents. -
Ireland: Practitioners Condemn the Chinese Communist Regime’s Persecution
2008-09-05On August 16th, 2008, Irish Falun Gong practitioners rallied at the GPO in Dublin to condemn the Chinese Communist regime’s escalation of the persecution against Falun Gong under the pretext of hosting the Olympics. They also called on international society to be concerned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China while holding the Olympic Games. -
Slovakia: Petition Campaign in Bratislava against the Persecution of Falun Gong
2008-09-05On Friday, August 21st in Bratislava, in SNP Square, there was a petition campaign with the goal of drawing attention of the public to the continuing persecution of Falun Gong, which did not stop during the Olympic Games. The media were informed about recent reports from the CIPFG, which drew attention to cases of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners continues and reported about a dozen hospitals, which were investigated and which confirmed this practice over the phone. -
Germany: "For Human Rights and for You, I Will Sign my Name"
2008-09-04On the 12th of July 2008 in the city centre of Dresden, Falun Gong practitioners held an activity to support the ‘World Million Signatures' campaign, calling for an end of the CCPs persecution of Falun Gong before the Beijing Olympic Games. People who understood what is going on in China eagerly came to sign, condemning the persecution. An assistant Minister of the State of Saxony passed by and immediately signed his name; he had a conversation with practitioners about China’s human rights record. -
Germany: Activities Calling for the Resumption of NTDTV’s Signal to China
2008-09-03On August 17th, Falun Gong practitioners held activities on the streets of Hamburg to expose the Chinese Communist regime’s cruel persecution of Falun Gong. They also collected signatures calling on the Eutelsat Company to immediately resume broadcast of the New Tang Dynasty Television’s (NTDTV) signal. -
Belgium: Representatives of Prime Minister Accepts Falun Gong Practitioners' Petition on Behalf of the Belgian Government
2008-09-03On August 14th, the CIPFG (Coalition to Investigate Persecution of Falun Gong) submitted a global petition to the Belgian Prime Minister. The petition urged the Belgian government to help end the CCP (Chinese Communist Party)'s persecution of Falun Gong. Matthias Slaats, representative of the Belgian Falun Gong Association, and Belgian Senator Mr. Patrik Vankrunkelsven were witness to the submission.
