• Finland: At the Beginning of the New Year, Dafa Practitioners Strive to Do the Three Things Well

  Practitioners from Helsinki and other cities in Finland held a retreat from the 6th to the 8th of January 2005. They studied the Falun Gong teachings, shared experiences and insights, and practised the exercises together. A peaceful appeal was held at the Chinese Embassy calling for an immediate end to the campaign of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners.

• Spain: People are Touched by an Anti-Torture Exhibition in Madrid

  On the 8th of January, Spanish practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in Sun Square in Madrid city centre to show what is happening to practitioners in China. People were astonished that such draconian methods of torture are still being used. Many kind-hearted Spanish people lined up to sign a petition calling for Jiang Zemin to be brought to justice.

• Ukraine: Film Portraying Persecution Against Falun Gong Practitioners at the Human Rights International Cinema Festival

  The movie “Sandstorm” was shown at the Human Rights International Cinema Festival. On the 15th of December, a national Ukraine TV channel screened a brief report about “Sandstorm”. Scenes from the film depicting the torture used against Falun Gong practitioners were also shown.

• Germany: International Human Rights Day in Bremen

  Live demonstrations of the torture methods used to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs graphically showed the daily horrors suffered by practitioners in China. Passersby were shocked by the brutality of the scenes and the depiction of torture victims on the posters and banners was able to touch even the most hardened of hearts.

• Switzerland: Exposing the Persecution with an Information Stall

  Many of the tourists and locals were shocked that such brutal violations of human rights are happening in China today. Pictures of re-enactments of the methods of torture used in attempts to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief were instrumental in driving home the extent of the cruel persecution to all those visiting the booth.

• Germany: The 2004 German Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference was held in Erbach

  On the 30th of December 2004, a Falun Gong experience sharing conference was held in Erbach. Over two hundred practitioners from Germany and the German-speaking areas of Switzerland and Austria attended the conference. Experience sharing articles were read by five practitioners and a project group.

  Many tourists took pictures of the Dafa activity to take home and show their friends. People from different countries in Europe and Asia wanted to learn more about the persecution. After they got to know the truth from practitioners or from reading leaflets they showed their support by signing a petition calling for an end to the persecution.

  A female tailor in Ankara became a Falun Gong practitioner only two months ago and feels the exercises are very good. After three days of learning, her back and neck pain had gone. She went to spread the practice to her friends. Now she says Falun Gong brings people not only good health but also good fortune.

The practitioners walking along both sides of the parade were busy distributing leaflets and many spectators got to learn about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution that is happening against practitioners in China.

• Slovakia: Calling for an End to the Persecution Outside the Chinese Embassy on New Year’s Eve

  On the evening of the last day of 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from the Czech Republic and Slovakia gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Slovakia’s capital city, Bratislava. They held a peaceful appeal to raise awareness about the five years of persecution against Falun Gong, a persecution has already taken over 1,200 innocent lives.

  I had yet to obtain the Fa last New Year’s Eve, but I made a wish to find my own path. Luckily, I ran into a practitioner in the city where I live who introduced me to Falun Gong. I’d like to avail myself of this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to Master Li for his great compassion and to all the practitioners who help rescue sentient beings with a kind heart...We are not longing for easy lives, but we hope that our compassion and tolerance would make the world brim with kindness in this New Year. In addition, what could we possibly desire after we already got the most significant things and our hearts are filled with truth, benevolence and tolerance?
