France: Press Conference to Discuss French Judge’s Request for an Investigation into the Persecution Against Falun Gong
2004-12-19"In China, if you practise Falun Gong and you are persecuted, you don't have the right to ask for a lawyer. Indeed, the Party forbids anyone to defend practitioners. If you have been tortured or a member of your family has been killed you cannot even file a complaint. This means total impunity for those who torture and those who give orders against Falun Gong. But here in France justice works. This is why as a French citizen I wished to file a complaint for what I endured in China, together with Chinese plaintiffs who have been severely tortured." -
Germany: Anti-Torture Exhibition Sees Widespread Support and Concern for China’s Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners
2004-12-19Many people signed a petition to support bringing to justice both Jiang Zemin, the main instigator of this persecution, and the “6-10 Office”, an organisation established by Jiang with the sole purpose of eradicating Falun Gong. At the end of the activity, there were thirteen pages of petition signatures. Sometimes, people queued up to sign the petition and show their support. -
French Judge Requests an Investigation into the 6-10 Office's Role in the Persecution of Falun Gong
2004-12-18An examining magistrate at the Court of Justice in Paris, recently issued an International Letters Rogatory asking the Chinese authorities for a certain number of explanations and acts. An International Letters Rogatory is basically a request from a court for information from another, usually foreign, court. This ILR was transmitted to the Chinese authorities as a follow up to two complaints filed in France, one in December 2002 against the Head of the “610 Office”, Vice-Premier Li Lanqing, and the other one in January 2004 against the Chinese Minister of Culture – respectively for crimes of torture and complicity to torture in the repression of Falun Gong. -
Russia: Rally on World Human Rights Day To Demand that Jiang, Luo, Liu and Zhou Be Brought to Justice
2004-12-18Many people stopped and carefully studied the exhibition. The facts of the persecution endured by practitioners in China deeply touched people's hearts. A middle-aged woman attentively viewed each of the posters and took some leaflets. She read them while walking. She turned back to ask some questions and sign the petition before continuig her journey. -
An Appeal from a Chinese Student in Switzerland: “Please Release my Mother”
2004-12-18My grandmother and my father were dealt a deadly blow from both their bodies and minds when facing with the sudden change at home. They looked on helplessly as their own family member was illegally kidnapped. Now my grandmother has taken to her bed and always asks when her daughter will be allowed to go home. My father has been warned that he will lose his life if his stroke occurs again and then he will never see his wife again. -
Sweden: Practitioners hold an Anti-Torture Poster Exhibition in Stockholm
2004-12-18On the 11th of December, Swedish practitioners held an anti-torture picture exhibition outside the Parliament building in Stockholm to raise awareness of the persecution against Falun Gong. Hundreds of people gladly accepted flyers and continually stopped to look at the pictures and read the information translated into both English and Chinese. -
Czech Republic: Exposing the Persecution of Falun Gong on World Human Rights Day
2004-12-17On Saturday the 11th of December, Falun Gong practitioners gathered in the centre of Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, to raise awareness about the five-year campaign of genocide against the practice. Many people stopped to read the posters and asked questions such as, “Why do they persecute you?” -
Sweden: Annual Falun Gong Presentation is a Favourite with Students of Dalarna College
2004-12-17According to the teacher the lecture by Falun Gong practitioners is one of the most appreciated events on the course. The practitioners showed a video of the ongoing persecution against Falun Gong. The students heard how the human rights of practitioners have been abused for the last five years under orders from former communist chief Jiang Zemin. -
Slovakia: Despite Freezing Weather, People’s Reactions are Warm on World Human Rights Day
2004-12-16On World Human Rights Day, a press conference was held in Bratislava to inform the media about Falun Gong and the persecution against the practice. The Slovakian people were shocked that such a peaceful practice, which has brought improved physical and spiritual wellbeing to 100 million people in 60 countries, could be persecuted so brutally. -
Germany: Joint Activites with the International Society for Human Rights on World Human Rights Day
2004-12-16On World Human Rights Day, December the 10th, the Munich branch of the International Society for Human Rights and German Falun Gong Practitioners held activities at the square in front of the National Theatre to call on German society to pay attention to China's human rights situation and put an end to the atrocities launched by Jiang Zemin and his Communist regime. -
Sweden: Exhibition at Karlstad University Reveals the Persecution of Female Falun Gong Practitioners in China
2004-12-16The exhibition was in the library's admission hall and can be seen by students, teachers and visitors. The audience can see photos and read the information boards, study a summary of the United Nation’s reports concerning the persecution of Falun Gong in China and read a report that lists the women who have died during the persecution from of torture. -
Spain: Calling for an End to the Persecution on World Human Rights Day
2004-12-15On World Human Rights Day, Spanish practitioners went to the main street in the centre of Madrid to raise awareness about the campaign of genocide that has been waged against Falun Gong practitioners in China for the last five years. They distributed flyers to passers-by, and talked to them about the benefits of practicing Falun Gong. -
United Kingdom: Press Conference held on World Human Rights Day
2004-12-15On the 10th of December 2004, World Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners in the UK held a press conference to remind people of the continuing five-year campaign of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners in China and to support bringing to justice the people responsible for the abuse, torture and killing of countless men, women and children. -
Spain: 6-10 Office Representatives from Four Chinese Provinces are Under Investigation by the Spanish Police
2004-12-14On the 29th November, after hearing that four 6-10 Office representatives would be visiting Europe with a tourist group, Spanish Falun Gong practitioners immediately reported to Spain’s Highest Police Office that the four criminals who are persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in China might be entering Spain. In addition, practitioners handed in evidence of the crimes of the four people and testimonies of witnesses to the police, whilst demanding that the police immediately investigate all four of them. -
Finland: On World Human Rights Day, Falun Gong Practitioners held an Anti-Torture Picture Exhibition in Helsinki
2004-12-14The 10th of December was World Human Rights Day. Helsinki Falun Gong practitioners went to the city centre to raise awareness about the cruel persecution in China. Widespread human rights abuse has been happening there for the last five years against people who practise Falun Gong and follow the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
