  • Die Welt (Germany): Two Canadians Accuse China of murder and illegal organ harvesting

Canadians David Matas and David Kilgour do not look like two men who would pose a threat to any state, let alone one as powerful as China. The tall and slender Kilgour (64) smiles a lot and his bright blue eyes sparkle. Matas (66) who is smaller in stature, talks softly and quietly. He regards everyone seriously through his metal-rimmed glasses. They look like an unequal pair.

  • Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) Writes to German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel

"Canadian officials state that ‘the (annual) dialogue was created as a cornerstone of Ottawa's policy of engagement with China on human rights, but today there is "pervasive cynicism" and "dialogue fatigue" among most officials.’ The overriding view of many participants in annual bilateral talks with China is that, although talks have been intended to provide genuine dialogue, they have always descended into a rehearsed propaganda exercise."

  • German Practitioners Write an Open letter to the Chinese Consulate in Munich to Commemorate the April 25th Appeal

"The publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party started the overwhelming tide of defections from the CCP. Over twenty one million Chinese people have defected from the CCP’s organisations. The final days of the CCP are being counted ... At such a critical moment in human history, of your counterparts, some chose a bright future for themselves. For instance, Chen Yonglin in Australia and Zhang Jiyan in Canada announced they would quit the CCP. Of your counterparts, some chose darkness, though. Pan Xinchun, the Deputy Consul General in Toronto, was convicted of libel for attacking a Canadian Falun Gong practitioner in a Canadian newspaper article".

  • Speech from London Activities to Commemorate April 25th: "My experience of being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party"

My name is Xinxia Jiang. I have been practicing Falun Gong since 1994. On 21st of July 1999, I went to Beijing with some of my fellow practitioners to appeal to the central government to lift the ban on Falun Gong. Police arrested all of us. I was sent back to the school in Shanghai where I worked as a fine arts teacher. Once back, I was locked up in a small classroom and was not allowed to see anyone for over a month. During which time, five to six policemen took turns interrogating me everyday.

"Today marks the eighth anniversary of the day when 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners spontaneously gathered at Zhongnanhai in Beijing to appeal peacefully to the Chinese government to release practitioners who had been arrested in Tianjin. Since then the Chinese government has been responsible for the worst series of organised persecution ever perpetrated in the history of mankind. Over 3,000 practitioners have been tortured to death in prisons and labour camps across China, while thousands more have been subjected to a horrific variety of abuse and torture with little hope of freedom or justice."

The EU’s efforts and public condemnation of this senseless and horrific persecution can significantly contribute to easing the pressure that the practitioners in China are currently enduring and take us one step closer to ending their suffering. It has now been over 8 years since the crackdown began. Every day, we receive more news of yet another torture victim, another family torn apart, another human rights crime."
