    Repressions of freedoms are still rampant in China despite the insertion of human rights as a new clause to its Constitution, London-based Amnesty International said Wednesday. "Human rights defenders and grassroots activities continued to be arbitrarily detained or put under house arrest during political sensitive periods in China," the annual report issued by the watchdog says in its section on China. Religious groups, such as Falun Gong, unauthorized Christian groups, and the so-called "separatists" in Xinjiang, continue to be subject of repression, it says.

Practitioners decided to hold an anti-torture exhibition to help people understand the extent of the brutality of the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China.

    On the afternoon of May 21, 2005, the Canada Falun Dafa Young Practitioners' Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was held in the Centre for Global Physics at the University of Toronto. Attendees included several dozen young practitioners from around the world, their parents, and practitioners from Toronto and elsewhere.

  • Korean Citizen's Wife, Gao Chengnu, Released from Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp

    On the afternoon of May 13, 2005, Ms. Gao Chengnu was released from the Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. Ms. Gao is a Falun Gong practitioner and a Korean citizen. Her husband's name is Mr. Guo Binghao. Ms. Gao Chengnu is a Chinese Korean. She married her husband in China on May 18, 2003. As Ms. Gao was preparing to immigrate to Korea, the Chinese Police Department refused to issue her a passport because she would not renounce the practise of Falun Gong. On May 7, 2004, she was abducted and detained in the Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp.

  • Argentina: Falun Dafa Sharing Conference Successfully Held at Tucuman

    On May 15th, 2005, the Argentinian Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held in northern Argentina. Practitioners from the United Kingdom, Chile and France also attended the conference. On the following day, practitioners held a "Falun Dafa" photo display downtown and a Falun Dafa workshop at night.
