China Represses Religious Freedoms - U.S. Proposes Resolution Against China's Abuses at the UN
2004-04-13On March the 22nd 2004, the U.S. announced that it would propose a resolution to condemn China's human rights record in the UN Human Rights Commission meeting this year. The following day, the Chinese Foreign Ministry declared that they would suspend their human rights dialogue with the U.S. At present, the U.S. is appealing for support from other countries. -
Taiwan: Teaching Falun Gong in a Prison and Inspiring Inmates’ Compassionate Nature
2004-04-13In I-Lan County, Taiwan, some local practitioners have taught Falun Gong exercises in Sanxing Prison every Monday afternoon since December 2000. They have introduced Falun Gong’s excellent principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to this law enforcement agency and its inmates. Jiang's Regime Attempts Misleading Tricks to Cover-Up the Persecution of Falun Gong
2004-04-08According to news from the European Falun Dafa Information Centre, on April 5th a few people allegedly from a Chinese non-governmental organisation and some representing the Chinese Government, attempted to propagate slander in Geneva. They attempted to hold a closed door meeting, which took place at four in the afternoon. They invited representatives from all countries attending the UN Human rights commission, attacked the proposal to be raised by the US and tried to deceive people in the UN. -
World Psychiatric Association Investigation Stymied Again
2004-04-08The President of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA), Dr. Okasha, received a letter from the President of the Chinese Society of Psychiatry (CSP) cancelling the WPA's plan of going to Beijing on April 4th. The trip was to conduct an independent investigation on China's psychological torture against Falun Gong practitioners. Dr. Okasha did not release specifics from the letter, which was received on March 26, only saying that the WPA had to cancel its investigation involuntarily. -
