Falun Gong Practitioner Song Jiaxing Sentenced to Five Years in Mi County Prison
2010-11-09In mid September, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Song Jiaxing was secretly sentenced by the court to five years in Mi County Prison, Henan Province. He had already been detained for nine months in Qi County Detention Centre. In mid June 2010, his case was heard at Qi County Court, but his family was not informed. During the trial, Song Jiaxing defended Falun Gong, stating that practising Falun Gong did not break any laws. However, the trial was only for show and the outcome had already been decided. -
On the Orders of the Dandong City "610 Office," Local Police Arrest 23 Falun Gong Practitioners in One Month
2010-11-08The 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) have been blatantly disregarding the law, and arresting Falun Gong practitioners--23 in the month of September. On August 31st, Donggang Traffic Police assisted four officers by use of a fire engine ladder to break into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Wei through the window. They accused her of "escaping from prison." Back in April 2002, the Donggang City Police Department had arrested Ms. Zhang and she was later sentenced to seven years imprisonment. While detained at a Women's Prison in Shenyang, Ms. Zhang was brutally tortured. She was released on medical parole after she was tortured to the brink of death, and had been living at home since 2003. -
Mr. Lei Yangfan Detained, Denied His Right to Appeal
2010-11-08Mr. Lei Yangfan was arrested and sentenced to two years of forced labour after browsing Falun Gong information on the Internet at an Internet cafe on May 8th, 2010 in Changsha. The official excuse for his labour camp sentence was that he was a Falun Gong practitioner, and distributed Falun Gong informational materials in Qiaoyi Town, Wangcheng County, Hunan on the evening of April 17th. Mr. Lei filed an appeal to the Hunan Province Forced Labour Administrative Committee in July, and requested that the forced labour sentence be revoked. On August 10th, the Hunan Province Forced Labour Administrative Committee upheld the original sentence. -
Falun Gong Practitioners from Chicheng County, Hebei Province, Harassed and Persecuted
2010-11-08The Chinese Communist Party aims at making practitioners stop Falun Gong cultivation by means of enticing them, lying to them, and threatening them. In the middle of September 2010, several police and officials went to the home of Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Wu Yuelan and her daughter, Ms. Guo Zhongli. Li and Yan threatened them, telling them they had write a statement pledging to give up Falun Gong or else they would be taken to a brainwashing centre. -
Du Yanrong, 58, Persecuted at Gansu Women's Forced Labour Camp
2010-11-08Falun Gong practitioner Du Yanrong, 58, has been detained for almost six months. She was tortured and as a result became mentally disturbed at Gansu Women's Forced Labour Camp. Ms Du's family eventually were allowed to see her in mid-October 2010, after going through many hurdles. She was severely emaciated and her hair had turned grey. She kept shaking, was not able to stand still, and appeared traumatised. During the twenty-minute visit, she just murmured and babbled. Police arrested Ms. Du when she was telling people the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong in a park on May 28th. She was then held at Tiaoshuping Detention Centre for 15 days before being sent to Gansu Women's Forced Labour Camp. -
Depriving Toilet Access: Another Feature of a Shameless Persecution
2010-11-07Throughout history, depriving people of toilet use has not generally been used as a torture method. However, during the persecution of Falun Gong by the Communist regime, use of a toilet is no longer considered a basic right. Toilet access in Division 2 at the Shandong Province Second Women's Forced Labour Camp is highly restricted. Guards require inmates to relieve their bladders in groups. Additional requests are needed for bowel movements. Why do the guards act this way? To humiliate the detainees. -
Mr. Zhu Wenhua Beaten to Death During Detention in Gangbei Prison in Tianjin City
2010-11-07At midnight on July 21st, 2010, the family of Mr. Zhu Wenhua received a call from Gangbei Prison of Tianjin City, Hebei Province saying that Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhu had died from a heart attack during his detention in the prison. However, he died after he was brutally beaten by prison guards and inmates. The perpetrators kept torturing Mr. Zhu for more than 6 hours from the afternoon till night. He died from the brutal beating, with his eyes wide open. The prison guards and inmates on the spot were frightened. They covered his body with a bed sheet and sent him to a hospital in haste. -
Mr. Liang Yuncheng Remains in Custody Despite Having Lost Sight in One Eye
2010-11-07Mr. Liang Yuncheng has been rushed to the hospital twice while being held at the Yuncheng Detention Centre. He has lost sight in one eye. Nevertheless, members of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of the Fengcheng Political and Judiciary Committee refuse to release him. Recently, Mr. Jiao suffered loss of consciousness due to an ulcer he developed due to ill treatment in the detention centre. -
Chinese Communist Regime Uses Tour Guides to Deceive and Threaten Visitors to Hong Kong
2010-11-07A practitioner and his wife from mainland China went on a trip to Hong Kong in April 2010. Being part of a tour group, they noticed that Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents were posing as tour guides to spread malicious rumours and lies to the tourists. This particular person, claiming to be a tour guide, is from the Shenzhen Tourist Company. He said that practitioners who speak with tourists about Falun Gong in Hong Kong do not have regular jobs and have been hired to do this work. They also said that the people talking are not real practitioners and that whoever listens to or reads their materials will not only be punished themselves, but they will also implicate others in the same tour group. -
Lawyer Wang Yonghang Seriously Injured from Beatings in Shenyang Prison
2010-11-06Lawyer Mr. Wang Yonghang was given a seven-year prison term for providing legal assistance to Falun Gong practitioners. He was held in the Shenyang Prison's Ward 18. During the evening on October 11th, 2010, guards urged several inmates to physically abuse and assault him. The beatings seriously injured Mr. Wang. Guards Li Shiguang, Peng Li and Liu Chang were involved in this crime. The inmates continued assaulting Mr. Wang the next morning. Later on, guards placed him in a solitary confinement cell. He suffers from physical abuse and mental torment. -
Falun Gong Practitioners in Tangshan City Injected with Toxic Drugs
2010-11-06According to sources from inside China, all Falun Gong practitioners sent to Ankang Hospital were injected with toxic drugs. There are a variety of toxic drugs being used, and the aftereffects of the injection differ from person to person. Ms. Ni Yingqin suffered a stroke and was very sick for three years. She passed away on December 8th, 2009. Ms. Liang Zhiqin was twice injected and is now extremely thin. Ms. Shao Liyan suffered a mental collapse. Ms. Shang Shiying, currently in Fengnan Detention Centre, was also injected with unknown drugs, which left her in great pain. She was disoriented and unable to move her eyes or tongue after the injection. Ms. Liang Shufen suffered a mental breakdown, while Ms. Li Fengzhen lost her memory. -
Mr. Zhang Fengjun Arrested and Sent to Forced Labour Camps Multiple Times
2010-11-06Mr. Zhang Fengjun began to practise Falun Gong in 1996. During the more than ten years of persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), he has been arrested five times and taken to forced labour camps three times. On August 30th, 2010, police and others, broke into Mr. Zhang's home at 5:00 a.m. They arrested him and took him to the Xiuse Village Brainwashing Centre. Police ordered him to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. They tried to brainwash him, but did not succeed. Mr. Zhang escaped on the third day, and is still homeless to avoid being arrested. -
Former Deputy Head of Finance Suffers Nine Years of Imprisonment
2010-11-06Ms. Wu Jingjun began to practise Falun Gong at the beginning of 1999. From March to October 2000, she went to Beijing many times to appeal for Falun Gong and, as a result, suffered brutal torture. In January 2001, she was reported to the police for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in Fengxin City. She was first held at Fengxin Detention Centre, then moved to Nanchang No. 3 Detention Centre, and finally sentenced to three years of forced labour in June 2001. She was released in June 2004. On September 10th, 2010, she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong on a bus when she was arrested by officer Li of Chaonong Police Station. The police took her to Nanchang No. 3 Detention Centre. Liu, the director of the police station, physically abused Ms. Wu on the way to to the detention centre. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Liu Shuling Shocked to Death with Electric Batons in the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Centre
2010-11-05On July 3rd Ms. Liu Shuling was tortured to death in the Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. According to informed sources, a dozen or so practitioners were tortured by being hung up, then forced to sit in an iron chair, in an attempt to coerce them to write the so-called "five papers" (conversion paper, separation paper, repentance paper, exposing paper, and pledging paper) to give up their belief in Falun Gong. Ms. Liu remained steadfast in her belief and refused to write anything. The police tied her to a chair and shocked her with electric batons until she died. -
Ms. Wang Yingxia Recounts Her Mistreatment in Harbin Women's Prison
2010-11-05While I was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Tongjiang City in December 2007, I was arrested by the local police and moved between different detention centres before being sentenced to three years in Harbin Women's Prison in June 2008. When my elder sister went to the Tongjiang Police Department to request my release in December 2007, the police found out that she was also a practitioner and later arrested her. She was held in a detention centre and then was transferred to a labour camp for a year and three months.
