  • Nurse He Xianggu is Injected with Harmful Drugs at Hunan Mental Hospital Because She Practises Falun Gong

    On July 10th, 2008, Hunan Province Women and Children's Hospital (WCH) officials took Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Xianggu, a nurse employed at the hospital, to the Hunan Brain Hospital's Psychiatric Division, where she has been held for more than three months. Since October 10th, 2008, staff members at the psychiatric hospital have violently injected her with drugs that damage the central nervous system. Ms. He Xianggu didn't take any food after the forced injection. Her current condition is grave cause for concern.
  • Chen Zixiu's Family Members Are Still Being Persecuted

    On April 20th, 2000, the Wall Street Journal posted on its front page a lengthy article entitled "Practising Falun Gong Was a Right, Ms. Chen Said, Up to Her Last Day". The article was about Ms. Chen Zixiu, a Falun Gong practitioner from Weifang, Shandong province who was persecuted to death by the local authorities. This report attracted international attention and the journalist, Ian Johnson, received a Pulitzer Prize for it. Over the past nine years, Chen Zixiu's family members have also been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. Chen Zixiu's daughter, Zhang Xueling, was given three years of forced labour without trial; Chen Zixiu's sister and brother-in-law have been repeatedly abducted and sent to labour camps.
  • Elderly Mr. Pang Zhongchun Dies after Years of Torture

    68-year-old Mr. Pang Zhongchun died on September 30th, 2008 in Wendeng City, Shandong Province. He had been arrested nine times by agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), simply because he practised Falun Gong. He spent two years in a forced labour camp. Pang Zhongchun wasn't released until February 2002. However, by this time he had lost his memory due to long, severe torture. He could no longer remember Falun Gong or how to do the exercises. His health condition became worse and worse until a year ago, when he totally lost his speech. It is believed he was severely injured by the drugs administered by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials.
  • Pingshan 610 Office Personnel Persecute Mr. Liang Zhifang

    Mr. Liang Zhifang is from Hebei Province. Because he practises Falun Gong and follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, he was brutally tortured by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel at a brainwashing centre. In the brainwashing centre, Mr. Liang had no personal freedom, not even to use the toilet. In order to reach their goal for the number of practitioners "transformed," the 610 Office threatens, entices, and deceives practitioners' families and relatives. They fabricated a series of situations designed to result in family members beating family members. Mr. Liang Zhifang's brother and sister-in-law were deceived and beat him once.
  • Husband and Wife Mr. Xin Hongyuan and Ms. Wei Yuhong Arrested and Persecuted for Nearly Six Months

    Mr. Xin Hongyuan and Ms. Wei Yuhong, his wife, are Falun Gong practitioners. They were arrested on May 24th, 2008. Mr. Xin and Ms. Wei were subjected to six hours of brutal torture at the local police station. All ten of Mr. Xin's fingers were pierced with needles and burned with a cigarette. He was beaten with an electric baton and forced to sign a forged confession. Ms. Wei's screams of agony were heard throughout the entire police station. When she was transferred to Tiexi Detention Centre, cuts and bruises were found all over her body during the physical examination. Officer Wang at the Tiexi Police Station said during the torture session, "This is how it is now. In the past, I would have tortured you to death."
  • Practitioners from Hongxing Airplane Manufacturing Company in Shijiazhuang City Subjected to Persecution

    On July 8th, 2008, Mr. Liu Rongfa, in his sixties, and his wife, Ms. Yin Yanxin, husband and wife were arrested and police ransacked their home. They were first detained at the Shijiazhuang Administrative Detention Centre and then, after more than ten days, Liu Rongfa was taken to a forced labour camp. He was tortured and subjected to physical and mental harm. His blood pressure shot up, and the forced labour camp staff notified his family and told them to post bail for medical treatment. They have yet to release him. Yin Yanxin was transferred to the Shijiazhuang City Women's Prison and denied family visitation. Her situation is unknown.
  • Reports of Persecution at the Second Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province

    The Second Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province uses brutal and inhumane methods to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. One of them is the use of psychotropic drugs in order to make practitioners suffer mental collapses and force them to renounce Falun Gong. Another inhumane method used at the labour camp is adding poison to practitioners' food so that they are unable to sleep, have difficulty with bowel movement/urination, and have swelling in their feet, making them unable to walk.
  • Renowned Chinese Oil Painter Mr. Fan Yiming Imprisoned for Practising Falun Gong

    Before the Olympics, the Chinese Communist regime used the Games as an excuse to arrest Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale. In mid-July 2008, Beijing police arrested renowned oil painter Mr. Fan Yiming and sentenced him to two years of forced labour. Mr. Fan's artwork has been exhibited in China and abroad, with many famous people in Europe and America purchasing his art.
  • Mr. Huang Chaowu Tortured to the Brink of Death at the Majialong Forced Labour Camp in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Huang Chaowu has been persecuted to the brink of death at the Majialong Forced Labour Camp in Jiujiang City. To force Mr. Huang to renounce his belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, guard Ke Hua and other guards coerced drug addicts to violently beat Mr. Huang by offering them sentence reductions. They told the drug addicts to, "Beat him until he dies. Don't hit the exposed areas; only hit the hidden areas." His father posted bail for him so he could recuperate his health at home. People from the labour camp have been to his home numerous times to harass him. Mr. Huang is emaciated and very weak.
  • The Brutal Persecution of Ms. Zhao Jiayu in Chongqing City

    Ms. Zhao Jiayu was sentenced to two years of forced labour and was incarcerated from July 19th, 2000, to August 14th, 2002, simply because she wouldn't give up the practice of Falun Gong. On November 4th, 2002, not long after she was released, Chinese Communist Party member Zuo Jin and a dozen others from the local township government and the Jingkou Police Station took Zhao Jiayu to the Geleshan Brainwashing Centre. She was detained and tortured regularly in the centre for one and a half years and was not released until June 2004. On February 25th, 2005, Ms. Zhao was again arrested by Zuo Jin and sentenced to two years forced labour without due process.
  • Mr. Yun Fuqi Brutally Tortured in a Detention Centre in Heilongjiang Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yun Fuqi, 53, was subjected to inhuman tortures while he was held at the Zhanglinzi forced labour camp. Prison inmates tied a big screw nut to a rope, then repeatedly swung the nut at Mr. Yun's head really hard, causing more than 20 wounds to his head. He was also put into a "strict discipline team" for Falun Gong practitioners for over a month He was brutally beaten every day. As a result, he suffered about a dozen bone fractures in his body.
  • Mr. Zheng Baohua Beaten and Tortured to the Brink of Death

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Baohua was arrested by police officers on September 10th, 2008. They then used torture to interrogate him. To protest, he went on a hunger strike and was brutally force-fed. He was finally released when he was on the brink of death. He recounted, "During the time I was on the hunger strike, I was force-fed with salt water every two or three days. While I was in the hospital, a guard told the doctors, 'All you have to do is to keep him alive for another three days. There will be no consequences as long as he does not die in the detention centre.'"
  • Ms. Bian Lingyun Developed a Life-Threatening Tumour while in Ganqika Detention Centre

    On May 7th, 2008, Liu Changqing police raided Ms. Bian Lingyun's home. They arrested her, ransacked the place, and seized all of her family's belongings, including two bank cards containing several thousand yuan that they had put aside for her son's tuition. Ms. Bian has been detained at the Ganqika Detention Centre in Tongliao City since last May. Recently, she developed a life-threatening ovarian tumour.
  • A Village Party Secretary in Hengshui City Persecutes Ms. Li Huanyun

    Li Jianru, male, is the Party secretary of Lidezhuang Village in Hengshui City, Hebei Province. During the Beijing Olympics, officials and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Township government ordered him to monitor Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Huanyun. Instead, Li Jianru directed others from CCP-related departments to arrest her. Two days before they arrested Ms. Li, Li Jianru brought in others to investigate how to get into her home and also examined her satellite dish on top of her house. The day they arrested her, the police parked their car near the village and then walked to her home to arrest her. She is now detained in a detention centre in Wuqiang County. They have sent her case to the local CCP Procuratorate and Court, and she is facing further persecution
  • The Persecution of Mr. Yu Shen and His Wife, Ms. Li Wei

    On May 11th, 2008, police knocked at the door of Mr. Yu Shen and Ms. Li Wei's home. After the police entered their home, they searched the house and found Falun Gong-related DVDs and materials. They confiscated a bank deposit book with two deposits valued at 40,000 yuan and 2,000 yuan, a computer, and Falun Gong books. They arrested Ms. Li. Mr. Yu and their son managed to escape. The next day Mr. Yu was coming home when he saw from a distance that all the lights in his house were on. He thought his wife had returned home. However, this was a set-up by the police and they arrested him. Mr. Yu and Ms. Li were detained in the Qinhuangdao City First Detention Centre for five months. On August 8th, 2008, the Development District Court held a secret trial, sentencing both of them to three and a half years in prison.
