Mr. Han Jianping Brutally Beaten While Locked to the “Iron Chair”

On June 3rd, 2013, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Han Jianping was arrested by police. He was tortured and interrogated at Nongan Police Department. He recounts, "I was held in a dark room and locked onto an iron chair. The head of Domestic Security Division came in and asked, “Who made those banners in your home? Who moved those materials upstairs?” I refused to tell him anything. Then he slapped my face four or five times. Another officer tortured me. My hands were handcuffed behind my back. The young officer pushed my head to the ground and took off my trousers. They used a mop stick to hit my crotch so hard that it swelled as well. It was very painful." -
A Practitioner's Son Dying from a Brain Tumour, the 610 Office Continues to Persecute Him
2013-11-13Because Mr. Tian Fengcheng practises Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes him. Three years ago he was sentenced to prison. He wasn't allowed to visit his injured wife and sick son during that time. When Mr. Tian was released from prison on April 25th, 2013, he went home to a severely injured wife and a son with brain cancer. The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) ordered him to attend a brainwashing session, but because his son was severely ill, he didn't go. The 610 Office had him arrested again on September 16th, 2013. -
Imprisoned and Emaciated Practitioner on Hunger Strike Still Tortured
2013-11-13Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Jinku was sentenced by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to five years in prison. He is now in Hulan Prison in Harbin. He held a hunger strike and will not speak to protest this miscarriage of justice. His family went to the prison on October 10th, 2013, but Wang, a section chief of the prison, refused to let them visit him, because he refuses to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Mr. Zhang has become incontinent as a result of being force-fed as a form of torture, is extremely weak, and was put in the prison hospital. -
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Agents in Shanghai Employ Cunning Tactics to Force Falun Gong Practitioners to Undergo Brainwashing
2013-11-13The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Shanghai has been arresting Falun Gong practitioners and taking them to brainwashing centres. To hide what is going on, they often change the location of the brainwashing centre. They also use deceptive means during the sessions. The Baoshan District 610 Office started a brainwashing session in mid September 2013 and called it a class on arranging flowers and cooking. The session actually includes activities like singing the songs that praised the Communist Party and watching videos that slandered Falun Gong. -
Prolonged Exposure to the Scorching Sun: a Form of Torture Employed by the Chinese Communist Party
2013-11-12In the hot summer, the sun burns like fire and temperatures in many regions in China are nearly 40 o C (about 104 o F) or higher. Falun Gong practitioners are exposed to the heat and scorching sun for long hours. This form of torture was seldom used in ancient times or today. However, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has created many variations of it for use in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and is not only used in prisons, forced labour camps, and detention centres, it is also widely employed in brainwashing facilities, as well as other places of detention.. -
Crimes at Masanjia Labour Camp Make International News Again
2013-11-12An SOS letter hidden in a package of Halloween decorations manufactured at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Northeast China recently made front page international news again. Mr. Zhang, the author of the SOS letter, was detained two and a half years in the labour camp. In his CNN interview, he described the slave labour at Masanjia as “an escape from the horrible violence.” Masanjia Labour Camp is notorious for the tortures it uses on Falun Gong practitioners. -
Prison Refuses to Cooperate with Lawyers Concerning Mr. Fang Zhengping's Death
2013-11-12Mr. Fang Zhengping from Xichang City, Sichuan Province, was persecuted to death at the age of 57 in the Yunnan Province No.1 Prison around June 2013. Mr. Fang was arrested in 2007. He was then sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Suijiang County Court. His parents have hired two lawyers to sue the prison and demand compensation from the state for their son's wrongful death. The prison authorities have refused to cooperate with the lawyers, obstructing their investigation of the case. -
Good People Helping Disaster Victims Are Arrested and Persecuted
2013-11-05A disastrous flood occurred in the Fushun District of Liaoning on August 16th, 2013 with the worst affected area at Nankouqian Town in Qingyuan County. Government officials did not provide relief for the disaster, and even prevented the news from getting out. Ms. Huang Yupin, together with fellow practitioners Zhang Yanfen, Ms. Liu Jinyan and Mr. Zhang Wenkun prepared food and clothing, and then went to distribute them to the flood victims. However, they were arrested by the police on the same day. -
College Teacher Persecuted, Her Salary and Bonuses Withheld
2013-11-05Ms. Zhang Shuqin, a teacher at the Shanghai Academy for Health Sciences, cannot teach her students. The academy, following the orders of the Shanghai 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), doesn’t allow her to, simply because she practises Falun Gong. When she was arrested on October 9th, 2011, the academy withheld her year-end bonuses as well as a month's salary because she had been arrested. In addition, she was subjected to brainwashing sessions conducted by officials from the 610 Office. -
After 10 Years in Prison, a Former Teacher Sent to Brainwashing Centre
2013-11-05Falun Gong practitioner and former teacher, Mr. Liu Xifeng, was recently arrested and taken to the Shenzhen Brainwashing Centre. Previously, Mr. Liu was detained in the Guangdong Sihui Prison for more than a decade. The abuse and torture in the prison rendered him physically disabled. Mr. Liu's wife, Ms. Wang Xiaodong, was an outstanding teacher at the Nanshan Foreign Language School. She died several years ago after being tortured in the Nanshan Detention Centre. -
Mr. Zhen Lijie Subjected to the Stretching Torture in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2013-11-05Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhen Lijie was detained in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for a year and half, where he was subjected to the stretching torture to force him sign the three statements to renounce practising Falun Gong. They pulled his arms and legs apart so hard that they dislocated them. In spite of his painful moans, the guards continued to torture him and blew cigarette smoke in his face. The pain was indescribable and he finally agreed to sign the papers. But his legs and arms were so swollen that he could not walk for a long time. -
Jilin Prison: Described by Inmates as "Hell on Earth"
2013-11-05The “Naked Zone” in the Jilin Prison is an example of the institution's base methods of humiliation and torture. Practitioners who have become disabled from persecution and mentally ill inmates are detained in the “Naked Zone.” Some practitioners have lost the ability to take care of themselves due to the persecution in Jilin Prison. In order to simplify the process of practitioners relieving themselves, the prison guards don't allow them to wear clothes. They are left bare in the “Naked Zone” all year round, forced to live like animals. The room is not cleaned, and because of the filth, they develop lice, scabies and other infections. -
British Falun Gong Practitioner's Account of Being Harassed by Beijing State Security Agents in China in 2010
2013-11-05I'm a Falun Gong practitioner from England. On July 28th, 2010, I went to Beijing to visit my parents. The minute I arrived at the Beijing airport, I was followed. Throughout the following month, state security agents talked to my father several times. The agents arrested me three times, and they once interrogated me for seven hours. In the end, they forced me to write a guarantee statement swearing never to attend Falun Gong activities overseas. After I returned to England, I received mail from the agents asking me to stay in contact with them. -
What Really Happened to These Two Falun Gong Practitioners?
2013-11-05The Epoch Times , a Chinese newspaper that is not controlled by the Chinese regime, reported that it appears that Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xia Junfeng's organs were removed and sold for profit, and netizens in China have recently started to pay attention to his case. After reading about Mr. Xia's death, it occurred to me that the organs of Mr. Li Baishun, a practitioner who died as a result of the persecution, could also have been removed and sold for profit. -
Older Mr. Bao Wenjun Died after Years of Torture, Harassment and Imprisonment
2013-10-31Mr. Bao Wenjun, a Falun Gong practitioner, died after suffering years of persecution. Prior to his death, he was tortured many times, detained in a labour camp and was in a prison for five years. Further information will be provided once it becomes available. After Mr. Bao was released from the No. 5 Prison in Xinjiang at the end of 2012, he was arrested again for distributing Falun Gong materials exposing the persecution. He was held at the local police station in Bachu County and then transferred to the Makit County Detention Centre.
