• Longkou 610 Office Arrests More than Thirty Falun Gong Practitioners During Former Chinese Dictator Jiang's Visit

  Recently, Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator who started the persecution of Falun Gong, visited Longkou City, Shandong Province. During his visit, 610 Office officials arrested over thirty Falun Dafa practitioners and sent them to a brainwashing centre. They have been detained there since April 30th. Several policemen broke into Xing Qifu's home. When Xing Qifu was trying to escape one official stepped on Xing Qifu's throat, nearly suffocating him. The police carried Xing Qifu, who was already near-death, and left him lying on the cold cement ground before taking him to the brainwashing centre.

• Five Practitioners from Hunan Province Recently Arrested

  At about 8:00 a.m. on May 17th, Zheng Fenglin (male) and Long Jiliang (male) led five State Security agents from the County Police Department to arrest Mr. Huang Qihua, a practitioner, and ransacked his residence. Mr. Huang, 33, was sentenced to forced labour in Xinkaipu Labour Camp in 2001. A few months into his forced labour term, he showed signs of illness and became unable to walk. He was later "released on probation for medical treatment."

• Ten Falun Dafa Practitioners From Yichun City and Tieli City, Heilongjiang Province Sentenced and Imprisoned

  At the end of September, 2005, the authorities in Tieli City arrested ten practitioners, who later were sentenced to imprisonment by the Tieli City Middle Court. According to a confirmed, reliable source, the authorities of Tieli City want to transfer the ten practitioners to another facility, and the practitioners have had blood drawn for blood typing tests. Due to the many publicly exposed cases of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners currently held in concentration camps by the Chinese Communist Party, this has caused many conscientious people to worry for the ten practitioners.

• Many Practitioners Sentenced to Prison in Gansu Province

  After serving a one-year-long detention, several practitioners in Wuwei City, Gansu Province, were secretly sentenced to prison in March 2006. The "Sentencing Statements" were sent to the Liangzhou District Detention Centre at the end of March 2006. Ms. Zhang Wenjuan, 42, was sentenced to six years in prison. Up until now, five practitioners in Wuwei City have been tortured to death. There are still 26 practitioners being tortured in prisons, labour camps, and detention centres.

• Professor Xu Yin of Tsinghua University Sentenced to Forced Labour

  Xu Yin, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University, was arrested at his home by officers of the Public Security Bureau on March 14th, 2006. The police also confiscated Xu Yin's Falun Gong materials. On April 13th Xu was sentenced to two years in forced labour camp by the "Re-education" Committee of the People's Government in Beijing. Simply for possessing Falun Gong books and pamphlets Xu Yin was stripped of his freedom and rights. After the arrest, Xu Yin's fourteen-year-old son was left at home alone.

• Ms. Sun Li in Shijiazhuang City Is Extremely Weak Due to a Hunger Strike; Her Family Urgently Calling for Her Release

  Ms. Sun Li is 50 years old. On September 6th, 2005, she was arrested because they found the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" and other Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. She was sentenced to prison for five years and six months at the beginning of March 2006. Ms. Sun was detained in the Second Detention Centre in Shijiazhuang City. The police in the detention centre constrained her in handcuffs and leg shackles. Ms. Sun believes herself to be innocent and has filed a lawsuit at the Intermediate Court in Shijiazhuang City. She has been on a hunger strike for about 20 days to protest and is very weak.

• Family Members Arrested While Visiting an Elderly Detained Practitioner

  Hao Fukui, an elderly practitioner has been persecuted for the past 9 months and his life is now in danger. His family members, Hao Yaofeng, Liu Mingwei and Mu Chunmei, went to visit him on March 1st, and were detained by the police. They were all sentenced to two years of forced labour. Police sent them to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. On learning of this, their other family members tried every way possible to rescue them. During the process, they met with harassment, verbal abuse and the vicious threats from all branches of the government and the police force.

• Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo Unjustly Sentenced to Six Years in Prison and Taken to Detention Centre (Photo)

  On April 25th, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo was sentenced to six years in prison at the Guangyang District People's Hospital. There was no trial and his family was not notified. The lawless officials announced the "verdict" in front of his sickbed at the hospital. Later, Yang Jianpo's family went to the city government offices, but the officials refused to meet with them. One official even threatened, "You'll get arrested no matter where you go to appeal. We'll arrest you right now if you don't leave right away!"

• School Teacher Ms Xiong Xiulian Again Arrested and Persecuted

  On the morning of April 10th, 2006, Ms. Xiong Xiulian, a schoolteacher was arrested while teaching a class and detained in a brainwashing centre. Because of her firm belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," this popular and honoured teacher has been persecuted and tortured for many years. Police officers beat her with steel whips, fists, heels, and handcuffed her. They also inhumanely force-fed her, and left an iron ladle in her mouth to suppress her tongue. It is difficult to imagine how much pain she suffered.

• Brief Information about Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted in Hubei Province in 2005

  Recently, the police in Xishui City, Hubei Province colluded with some local thugs and arrested many practitioners. A truly inhuman thing happened when the police arrested practitioner Mr. Zhong Quier. A group of policemen attacked him and beat him unconscious on the ground. His mother, in her 70s, went out to protect her son; however, the police even beat the elderly mother so badly that she went into a coma. Afterwards, they put Mr. Zhong into a police car and left.

  "I became very anxious when I heard the recent news that Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Yan was arrested and will have to stand trial. While Falun Dafa was being slandered in the media, Mr. Zhao remained firm in his beliefs. The detention centre police stationed at the university continually harassed us. They confined us to "brainwash" all of us against Falun Gong. The police also persecuted him while he was imprisoned in the detention centre simply because he practised publicly with other practitioners. I can scarcely remember how many tribulations he has had to endure."

• Qiu Xiuzhen Sentenced to Eight Years in Jail and Her Husband Died as a Result of Being Forced into Homelessness

  Ms. Qiu Xiuzhen was arrested and detained by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police on August 15th, 2003. When Ms. Qiu asked them to show her their arrest warrant, the police viciously beat her. They pushed her down to the ground and gagged her mouth with dirty gloves. She was sentenced to eight years in jail. Her husband, Gan Maoyong, was forced to become homeless to avoid persecution and he died in 2004. Sixty-year-old Ms. Qiu is currently being detained and persecuted in the Yangmahe Women's Prison in Jianyang City.

• Practitioner Cai Fuchen Was Unjustly Sentenced and His Family Torn Apart

  Since the persecution of Falun Dafa began on July 20th, 1999, Falun Dafa practitioner Cai Fuchen has encountered various forms of persecution. On May 26th, 2004, Cai was once again arrested by police. He is currently detained at Jilin Province Gongzhuling Prison. His wife was forced to become homeless to avoid being persecuted. His paralysed father soon passed away, as he could not cope with the news about his son being brutally tortured. Cai's ten-year-old son was no longer able to receive his parent's love and caring and therefore lived in great hardship. He was deprived of his right to go to school.

• National Security Division Agents from Yanji City Unconstitutionally Arrested Many Practitioners in February 2006

  At 9:00 a.m. on February 28th, 2006, police started a large-scale arrest. Practitioner Xiao Deng was taken to the National Security Division. She refused to identify herself (due to the persecution policy of implicating family members, friends, and workplaces, practitioners often refuse to give their names). Four police officers handcuffed Xiao Deng with her arms behind her back and tried to force her to kneel down. When Xiao Deng refused to do so, they held her four limbs and pushed her on the ground. They kept slapping her face and viciously beat her throat, making her throat swell and until she was unable to speak. When they still didn't get what they wanted, they changed to another torture.

• No Further Information on Ms. Sun Fenghua After She Was Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison

  44-year-old Ms. Sun Fenghua was sentenced to fourteen years in prison in 2003. She was detained at the Harbin City Women's Prison. However, Falun Dafa practitioners detained in Harbin City Women's Prison said that they have never met her, and have not even heard about her. Her husband has already divorced her and no family members cared about her after she was detained. No further information has been heard about her for the past three years.
