  • Canadian Resident: Exposing the Torture Committed Against My Family by the Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province Police Department and 610 Office

    In the morning of February 9th, 2007, seven police came to my home and found my wife, Huang Jinling, was at home by herself. They arrested my wife, ransacked my home, confiscated our computer, color printer and other things worth 10,000 yuan. They did not give a receipt, even though my daughter and two sisters of my daughter-in-law repeatedly asked for one. The CCP keeps promoting the idea of a "harmonious society." What kind of "harmonious society" is this when police throw an innocent old lady into prison a few days before the Chinese New Year?
  • Practitioner Ms. Gong Shulian from Sichuan Province Sentenced Again after Escaping from a Detention Centre

    Ms. Gong Shulian, 45, went to Beijing to appeal the persecution at the end of 2000. After returning from Beijing, police arrested her and sentenced her to a year and a half of forced labour. She suffered various forms of torture and almost died. She was then sent to a detention centre after the forced labour camp. Ms. Gong miraculously escaped from the detention centre at the end of 2005, but was arrested again in May 2006 when she was distributing materials and explaining the facts about Falun Dafa.
  • Mr. Tai Zhengxu Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

    At the beginning of the persecution, Mr. Tai Zhengxu was forced to leave home to avoid being arrested in July 2001. He was arrested in 2002 while telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Four to five policemen beat him until he passed out. He was detained, threatened, and tortured, and not allowed to sleep for more than ten days. Later, he was sentenced to imprisonment and lost his freedom. He is now detained in the Hongzehu Prison with a seven-year prison term just because he spoke out for justice for Falun Gong.
  • Dafa Practitioner Mr. Yu Wei from Weifang City, Shangdong Province, Repeatedly Persecuted over the Past Seven Years

    On January 4th, 2007, 610 Office officials and police broke into Dafa practitioner Yu Wei's house under the pretence that Wei was a temporary resident. Mr. Wei's Dafa books, CDs, audio tapes, and other materials were confiscated. He was arrested on his way home from work and taken to a detention centre. Since the Communist regime started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, authorities have twice ransacked Wei's house. Authorities confiscated his Dafa materials, a recorder and two laptop computers worth over five thousand yuan, and extorted 8,400 yuan.
  • Six Practitioners in Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang Province Were Arrested - Over 400 of Their Relatives Are Appealing for Them

    On the morning of January 23rd, 2007, Mr. Dong Liantai, 43, and Mr. Tian Hua, 40, went to visit their relatives who were detained in Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City. They arrived there too early as the labour camp hadn't opened yet, so they sat on the edge of the farm field next to the labour camp. The labour camp guards in the watchtower saw them and arrested them. When the two practitioners questioned why they were arrested, the guards said they didn't need to provide a reason. The two practitioners were sent to Xinnong Town Police Station. On the same day, the police also arrested four practitioners at the bus stop in Xinnong Town. Currently, the six practitioners are still detained at Harbin Detention Centre. 441 of their relatives are appealing for them.
  • Practitioner Ms. Yan Suqin from Huangchuan County, Henan Province Sentenced

    Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yan Suqin was subjected to persecution many times because she persisted in her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. On January 24th, 2007, the Huangchuan County Court suddenly announced that she was sentenced to four years in prison without giving her a trial or notifying her family members.
  • Practitioner Ms. Zheng Miaojun, 76, Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Puning City, Guangdong Province

    It has recently been reported that Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Zheng Miaojun and Ms. Huang Tingluan, who had been detained in Puning Detention Centre of Guangdong Province, were taken to a prison by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel for further persecution. Ms. Zheng, 76 years old, was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year term of imprisonment and Ms. Huang, 63 years old, was sentenced to three years.
  • Mr. Chen Tianjie Detained at the Hangzhou City Fourth Prison, Zhejiang Province

    In July 2002, Mr. Chen was arrested when he was preparing leaflets exposing the persecution. Agents from the police, the security department, the 610 Office, and the Neighbourhood Administration ransacked his house for hours. All the Dafa books, Falun Dafa leaflets and a fax machine were taken away. Later, without any public trial or notifying his relatives, Mr. Chen Tianjie was sentenced to 11 years in prison based on the number of confiscated leaflets. His parents and his wife only received the sentencing statement, and no legal procedures were followed. At that time, his child was only 100 days old. Mr. Chen is still writing his appeal statement.
  • The Persecution of Mr. Li Shangshi, Former Manager of the Liaoning Panjin Forest Products Company, Reveals the Injustice of the Legal Process under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)

    59-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Shangshi was a college-educated manager at the Panjin Forest Products Company in Liaoning Province. Mr. Li was arrested on two occasions for practising Falun Gong. The first time, he was sentenced to prison for three years. At the court the lawyer assigned by the court to defend Mr Li said, "The government has made the practice of Falun Gong illegal, so you must be guilty." On April 20th, 2004, Mr. Li was again sentenced, this time to fourteen years in prison.
  • Wang Bo and Her Parents Sentenced to Four and Five Years in Prison

    25-year-old practitioner Ms. Wang Bo was falsely charged with "using a cult organisation to disrupt the administration of law" and was sentenced to five years in prison by the Chinese Communist government in early February 2007. Her father Wang Xinzhong and mother Liu Shuqin were equally charged, and each was sentenced to four years in prison.
  • Practitioners Ms. Chen Peizhu and Ms. Huang Cailan from Guangxi Autonomous Region Sentenced in October 2006

    On June 4th, 2006, police officers arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Chen Peizhu and Ms. Huang Cailan at their homes. An court hearing was held secretly in October. Family members were not informed of the hearing until an insider told them about it less than one day before. The Prosecutor's Office at the Longlin County Procuratorate brought fabricated charges against them in the absence of a defence lawyer or witnesses. Ms. Chen Peizhu wanted to share her experiences of practising Falun Gong with the court, but the Chief Justice rejected her request.
  • Shanghai Normal University Authorities Persecute Mr. Guo Shenghuan and His Family

    Mr. Guo Shenghuan, a teacher in the College of Digital Information, Shanghai Normal University, was arrested at work on the morning of January 25th, 2007. After the arrest, Assistant Dean Gu Guoxiang told the people who knew about the incident, "If anybody asks, you just say that Guo Shenghuan never came to work." Mr. Guo is being unlawfully detained in the Xuhui District Detention Centre. That same day, Mr. Guo Shenhuan's wife, also a practitioner, Zhang Yuxia was arrested while working in the Shanghai Hongqiao International School and was dismissed from the school. At that time, she was still nursing her baby.
  • Laizhou City, Shandong Province, 610 Office Agents Stage a Mock Court Trial as a Trap, Arrest 23 Practitioners

    One male and two female plainclothes police officers reported Qi Haijun, a disabled practitioner on January 23rd, 2007. He was then sent to Laizhou City Detention Centre although they found nothing on him to use as evidence against him. About 2:00 p.m. on January 27th, Mr. Qi suddenly felt dizzy, had a rapid heart beat and lost consciousness. He then went into convulsions and fell into a coma. When his family members learned of his condition, they petitioned the detention centre to allow them to bring him home. They did bring him home after paying 4,000 yuan in cash as a "warrant of probation."
  • Mr. Gong Chengge and Other Practitioners in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province Still Being Detained

    During the new wave of persecution led by Zhao Jincheng, director of the Mudanjiang Police Department, in Helongjiang Province on December 12th, 2006, many Falun Gong practitioners were arrested. Although most of them were released after large amounts of money were extorted from them, Mr. Gong Chengge, Mr. Zhu Xiucheng, and Ms. Hao Rong are still being detained. After money was extorted from Mr. Gong Chengge's family, his family went to the police department to ask for his release, but got no response.
  • Mr. Cao Dong Given Five Year Prison Sentence for Talking to European Parliament Vice President

    On February 8th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cao Dong was sentenced to five years in prison by the Gansu Provincial Court. His so-called "crimes" were "illegally connecting with a foreign anti-China force," and "illegally accepting interviews." Mr. Cao Dong is appealing these false charges. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) confessed, "According to a CCP Central 610 Office statement, 'It [the persecution] could be easily exposed on the media if we sentenced Mr. Cao Dong in Beijing,' and 'it is better to transfer Cao Dong to Gansu Province (where his hometown is located) and have the State Safety Bureau sentence him,' ...If we allowed Cao Dong to be released, it will be a threat to the Capital City's social stability..."
