• Two Couples Arrested in Changchun City: Mr. Yang Zhijie and Mr. Yao Yongchun and their Wives

  Between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. on October 9th, 2006, police officers stormed into the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners and arrested two couples: Mr. Yang Zhijie and his wife, and Mr. Yao Yongchun and his wife. Mr. Yao Yongchun and his wife were in bed when police broke into their home. Jiang Qiang robbed them of a bank card worth six thousand yuan and some cash. While the home was being ransacked, the police brutally beat the couple. Mr. Yao Yongchun exclaimed, "How dare you beat a woman in her 50s!" Officer Jiang Qiang rushed over to Mr. Yao, who is 54 years old. While swearing at him, Jiang Qiang beat him until he passed out on the floor and then continued beating him. Mr. Yao's face was covered with blood.

• Darkness Lurks in the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison

  I myself have lived through the brutal terror inside the special "classroom." There was a varying number of "guards" who were selected from the most hard core criminals. I suffered through several savage beatings at their hands. Sometimes all five beat me at the same time and I started to bleed from the head. Since I would not betray or criticise Falun Gong, several of them grabbed my hands and pounded them against the table, causing my hands to bleed and swell up. They also cursed us and verbally abused us. They sometimes did not allow me to drink water for two days at a time, or they gave me only a very small amount of water. I suffered terribly, being so thirsty.

  In February 2006, Beijing Chaoyang District Dafa practitioner Zhang Lianying was beaten by eight "personal cangues", prisonersdesignated to supervise the behaviour of practitioners. On February 27th, Zhang Lianying was sent to a hospital for 50 days. The wounds on her body had accumulated from several beatings and her entire face turned black. The soles of her feet had black spots caused by being pricked by a sharp object, she could not move her waist or turn over in bed, and her left leg became very swollen.

  Mr. Miao Shujun, a Falun Dafa practitioner has been unlawfully detained in the Suihua Forced Labour Camp. On September 26th, his family members went to visit him. They found that his face was terribly swollen and he could hardly move a single step. He told them, "I was beaten on September 22nd. As a result, I have been suffering unbearable headaches and chest pain. The name of the guard who led others to beat me is Shi Jian. The symptoms are getting more and more severe. The guards took me for an examination on September 25th, but told me that there was nothing wrong."

• Mr. Huang Min Tells of the Cruel Tortures He Suffered in Forced Labour Camps for Five Years and Seven Months

  In September 2001, I was transferred to Yushan Forced Labour Camp. They used violence in order to make me renounce Falun Gong. The prison guards had four inmates brutally beat me on an average of six rounds a day. When they realised that beating would not work, they resorted to different means of torture. They kept hitting my wrists and finger joints with a pair of forceps until all the soft issues and tendons were badly swollen. In addition, they hit me on my ankles and toes, the areas that are more sensitive to pain. They made a hammer out of copper wires and used it to hit my head until there were bumps all over my head. Finally they poked my fingertips with large sewing needles until my fingers bled profusely.

  On Wednesday, September 6th, 2006, Deputy Secretary Hu Dekui of the Guangshui Administration Office in Hubei Province took Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Pengfei to Xiaogan for a brainwashing session. Mr. Hu said, "The order to apprehend Mr. Zhang came all the way from the top. State officials are not allowed to practise Falun Gong, and because Mr. Zhang practises, he must be "transformed." We didn't really want to do this because we don't have the funds and now we'll have to pay a few thousand yuan for his living expenses and send along an official to accompany him."

• Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Jiang Yuejun Suffered from Persecution at the Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp

  A member of Mr. Jiang Yuejun's family visited him in Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp. They learned that Mr. Jiang's throat was so severely damaged that he could barely speak. The sound of his voice had completely changed. Mr. Jiang said his throat was injured because of the beatings the guards gave him under orders. Division head Feng said, "We were quite nice to him in the first week he was here." Mr. Jiang has been imprisoned for more than two weeks. It's apparent that Mr. Jiang was subjected to severe abuse during the second week. Mr. Jiang told his family that his "environment" was very bad. He lost so much weight that he now weighs less than 100 pounds.

  Practitioner Ms Li Bin experienced ruthless torture, especially electric shocks, which nearly killed her. In an interview a reporter asked: "How did it feel when you were shocked by electric batons?" Li Bin replied: "When the guards us shocked me, I was sweating all over and my clothes were wet. I first felt pain, as if I was being pierced with needles. I heard the sizzling noise. It was truly horrendous. I could also smell the burning of my hair and skin. Sometimes the electricity went to my brain. That was even worse. It felt like I was having a seizure because the nerves were stimulated on top of the pain. You can only try to imagine what kind of feeling that is."

When Ms. Li's family member went to the Taihe District Police Department to request her release, Officer Han Yaobang from the legal justice office told them that Falun Gong was interfering with the 2008 Olympic Games that will be held in Beijing, and hence, all Falun Gong coordinators must be arrested.

  When I was detained at the Heizuizi Women's Labour Camp, I watched with my own eyes the completely inhumane, brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Xiyu. Because she refused to comply with the guards' orders, she was often beaten and yelled at. Some of the other detainees also beat her at the command of the guards. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and her detention, and was force-fed by camp doctors. Often she ended up with dark bruises on her face. Sometimes when she returned from the labour camp clinic, her face was covered in blood, and she had a tube inserted into her nose. Later I heard that Zhu suffered a mental breakdown.

  On October 2nd, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioners Liu Yanqing (70 years old) and Yang Zhixiu (68 years old) were arrested by officers in Pengan County Train Station, Suining City, Sichuan Province during the night when they visited their former classmates. The police also took away their Falun Dafa books and leaflets exposing the persecution that they had with them. Now they are being detained in Pengan County Detention Centre.

  At Shuangkou Forced Labour Camp, my brother suffered from inhuman torture. In order to force him to renounce Falun Gong, the vicious guards cursed, insulted and beat him up. They smeared hot pepper juice and feces all over his lips and nose. In the middle of the winter, they stripped off his clothes and tied him in front of the window in his cell. They also soaked his feet in icy cold water for long hours and tortured him with brutal force-feeding that caused severe gastritis. But my brother persevered due to his steadfast faith in Falun Gong. After he finished the eighteen-month prison term, it was extended it by six months twice.

They ransacked Mr. Meng's home on September 8th, 2006, stole 1,200 yuan in cash, and a vehicle. Mr. Meng's eighty five year-old grandmother missed her grandson who was always so good to her, so she went to policeman Liu Zhongping's house to request the release of her grandson, and she condemned the policeman's shameful act of stealing her grandson's money and possessions. Liu Zhongping cursed the old lady and brutally beat her!

  On the morning of October 6th, 2006, policeman Dong Lixin and others from the Chengfeng District Police Department arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tie Zhijie and placed him under the department's custody. Two days later, he was detained in the Longfeng Detention Centre. Mr. Tie has been on a hunger strike ever since. Recently, he was taken to the Suihua Forced Labour Camp. Because his life was in danger from being tortured brutally, the camp refused to accept him. The police then took him to the Daqing City Detention Centre.
