Death Cases

  • Chongqing Practitioners Severely Persecuted by Wang Lijun and Bo Xilai

We are Falun Gong practitioners from Chongqing. After June 2008, when Bo Xilai, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Chongqing branch, transferred Wang Lijun to Chongqing, we witnessed the crimes committed by both Bo and Wang. They brainwashed the people of Chongqing with methods similar to those of the Cultural Revolution, and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners escalated. In 2009, at least 188 practitioners were arrested. Of those, six of them were persecuted to death, 18 were sentenced to prison, 76 sentenced to forced labour, and five sent to mental hospitals to be persecuted.
  • Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison, Elderly Practitioner Mr. Luo Laiyang from Nanchang City Dies As a Result of the Persecution

Mr. Luo Laiyang was arrested and sentenced to 9 years in prison in 2007 for distributing information about Falun Gong. He passed away as a result of persecution, at age 73 on April 6th, 2012 at the Jiangxi Prison Hospital. During his imprisonment, Mr. Luo held a hunger strike to resist the persecution, and developed symptoms of illness. However, the prison authorities refused to release him on medical parole, citing the fact that Mr. Luo refused to write a “repentance statement” renouncing Falun Gong.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Systematically Murdered for Their Organs: Refuting the Chinese Regime's "Death Row" Explanation, Chapter IV

In this section, we will explain why we are assuming that the number of death row inmates with organs suitable for transplantation is 30% the total. Organs from death row inmates are a one-time resource. Unlike organs hosted by a pool of living people, organs from death row inmates cannot be reserved for future use. Due to perceived political needs, the Chinese Communist regime makes a habit of executing death row inmates on national holidays, such as New Year's Day, May Day, or National Day, to get the most exposure from the event. Quite often, the dictated times of such executions mean that the inmates' organs are not used.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Systematically Murdered for Their Organs: Refuting the Chinese Regime's "Death Row" Explanation, Chapter III

Some may wonder whether the massively growing organ market was the result of a sudden increase in China's death row executions. According to the article, "The number of death row executions has decreased significantly," posted on Chinanews.com on September 6th, 2007, "For more than a decade, the People's Court has continuously been strict and prudent in the use of the death sentence, resulting in the steady reduction of death row executions." Although there is little credibility in the Chinese Communist government's propaganda, it is a fact that there was no sudden, massive increase of death row executions during the peak of China's organ market between 2003 and 2006.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Systematically Murdered for Their Organs: Refuting the Chinese Regime's "Death Row" Explanation, Chapter II

There is overwhelming evidence of the Chinese Communist regime's chilling role in systematically murdering Falun Gong practitioners, harvesting their organs while they are alive, and making huge profits from doing so. In response to the international outcry, the Chinese regime has attempted to explain away one of the main pieces of circumstantial evidence--the meteoric rise in the number of organ transplantations in recent years and the extremely short wait times in a culture notoriously averse to organ donation--by stating that it has harvested organs from executed criminals after their deaths.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Systematically Murdered for Their Organs: Refuting the Chinese Regime's "Death Row" Explanation, Chapter I

In 2006, The Epoch Times newspaper broke a stunning story about what is undoubtedly one of the most horrible atrocities to be committed by any government, not only in modern times, but in all of recorded history. As documented in the investigative report, "Bloody Harvest," by noted human rights lawyer David Matas and former Canadian Secretary of State for the Asia-Pacific region David Kilgour, there is overwhelming evidence of the Chinese Communist regime's chilling role in systematically murdering Falun Gong practitioners, harvesting their organs while they are alive, and making huge profits from doing so.
  • Ms. Sun Xiuxia Dies after Being Abused in Jilin Province Women's Prison

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Xiuxia, 51, died on April 30th, 2012, after being abused in Heizuizi Women's Prison. She was carried to hospital on a stretcher for “emergency treatment” that same day. Because Ms. Sun refused to give up her belief and resisted the “transformation,” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] she was locked in solitary confinement many times while in the prison. Ms. Sun had been held in forced labour camps several times previously.
  • Review of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Early 2012: Arrests, Torture, Deaths

Heilongjiang Women's Prison guards forced Ms. Liu Deqing, a 60-year-old physician from the Hailun Health Centre, to sit still on a small stool all day long, from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Inmates pricked her with toothpicks and beat her hard with planks or brushes. After more than two years of brutality, she had all-over oedema. Her abdomen had swelled, like someone who is seven months pregnant. Ms. Liu died on November 27th, 2011.
  • Investigation Lead: Multiple Kidney Transplants with Unknown Donors at the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with Jilin University

It is common knowledge that an organ considered for transplant must be of matching tissue type between donor and recipient. (In developed countries such as the U.S., the waiting time for a prospective transplant patient is several years, sometimes as long as ten years). It was recently reported that multiple kidney transplant surgeries were performed at the No. 1 Hospital affiliated with Jilin University in Changchun, Jilin Province. Two transplants were done each day in early March 2009, which is cause for concern. Where do the organs come from? It makes one suspect that the live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners is still happening in China.
  • Mr. Chi Yaocai and Other Practitioners in Critical Condition at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp

Officials at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp have intensified the persecution of Mr. Chi Yaocai and other Falun Gong practitioners since January 2012. Many practitioners have been confined in solitary cells, shocked with electric batons, beaten, and had their terms extended. Mr. Chi Yaocai has symptoms of high blood pressure and his life is in danger. At least three other practitioners have been persecuted to the verge of death.
  • People's Liberation Army General Logistics Department Responsible for Harvesting Organs

After the suppression of Falun Gong started, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Military Commission conducted six special meetings on "Handling Foreign Religious Issues." The Logistics Department followed Jiang Zemin's [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] instructions for "Physically annihilating Falun Gong practitioners." The marketing of human organs became a highly profitable business for the military, approved and encouraged by Jiang. The orders for removing organs from living practitioners came directly from the Chair of the Military Commission. The General Logistics Department ordered blood tests on practitioners, then arrested them all over the country and processed them. Utilising military transportation, personnel and forced labour camps built on military facilities, the Logistics Department (LD) became the state live-organ bank.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Tan Jinhui, 67, from Sichuan Province Passed Away Due to Persecution

Over the past ten years, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Tan Jinhui from Sichuan Province was continually persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because of her belief. Her home was ransacked, she was detained, send to forced labour, a brainwashing centre and prison. Ms. Tan passed away on September 25th, 2011, after a long period of physical deterioration brought on by abuse in detention. She was 67 years old.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners Systematically Murdered for Their Organs: Refuting the Chinese Regime's "Death Row" Explanation, Preface and Table of Contents

Between 1999 and 2007, China's organ transplant market experienced rapid growth. In 2003, the number of organ transplants in China mushroomed. From 2003 to 2006, a record number of overseas "organ transplant tourists" rushed to China, attracted by the incredibly short average waiting periods of only one to two weeks, compared to waiting periods ranging from two to three years in other countries. This begs the question: Where did all these transplant-ready organs come from? In March 2006, when a whistleblower alerted the world to the possibility of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China, a potentially new source of organs emerged.
  • “Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting” Urges the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to Provide Accurate and Verifiable Organ Transplant Statistics

Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) , an organization founded by medical doctors from all over the world, published a petition to Dr. Chen Zhu, Chinese Minister of Heath on its official website, requesting China (Chinese Communist Party) to provide accurate and transparent statistics and documentation of the source of organs in China to the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Medical Association (WMA) and The Transplantation Society (TTS). The organization stressed that discrepancies in the transplantation figures have raised concerns that in China organs are systematically harvested from unwilling living people.
  • Practitioners Persecuted by Officers from Renqiu Domestic Security Division in Hebei Province

Mr. Gu Yalou, 32, went out to put up materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong at 11 p.m. on August 10th, 2001. He was arrested at around midnight and taken to Beihan Police Station. The next morning, the police took him to Renqiu Domestic Security Division and told his family to bring 20,000 yuan in exchange for his release. When his family members went to the police station with the money to pick him up on August 14th, the head of the police station told them that Mr. Gu had died at around 7.30 p.m. while being interrogated on the 5th floor.
