Four Practitioners from Jilin, Liaoning, and Henan Provinces Die after Suffering Continued Persecution
2007-02-03Mr. Dai was 57 years old. He was very healthy after beginning Falun Dafa practice in 1994. In early June 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal to higher authorities for justice for Falun Dafa. Some malicious Chinese Communism Party members detained him twice and then sentenced him to the Tonghua Forced Labour Camp for one year. By the time his family got him out on parole, his blood pressure was very high due to the mistreatment. In 2002, police arrested him and sentenced him to two years imprisonment at Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City. There he became very weak from the brutal torture, and by the time his family got him out again on parole he was covered with cuts and bruises. Afterwards, he was hospitalised several times and died on December 30th, 2006. -
Mr. Guan Mingde from Changchun City, Jilin Province, Died of Injury at Hands of Police in 2001
2007-02-01In 2000, Mr. Guan Mingde, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. He unfurled a banner that said, "Falun Dafa is good" on Tiananmen Square. He was arrested right away. While detained, Mr. Guan refused to report the name of his employer. He was heinously beaten and tortured. There was a large crack on his head and his flesh was split apart, exposing his skull. Within eight or nine days, he was dying. With thirteen stitches in his head, Mr. Guan could not eat or drink any water. He was severely swollen and lived by intravenous injections. He was also suffering from a mental breakdown. Mr. Guan, aged 38, died in February 2001, as a result of his injuries. -
Ms. Zhang Jian from Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province Died at 58 as a Result of Persecution (Photo)
2007-02-01After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) initiated its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Zhang Jian went to Beijing to appeal. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour in the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp, where she endured cruel torture. She was deprived of sleep, kicked and punched, and tied onto an "iron chair" for eight days. When she was released, she continued to be harassed at her home by the police. Unfortunately, on June 27th, 2006, she suddenly fell ill and died the same day. Ms. Zhang was 58 years old. -
Ms. Liao Xinqun Dies at 54 as a Result of Persecution
2007-02-01Ms. Liao Xinqun was sentenced to one year of forced labour and taken to the Ulapo Women's Forced Labour Camp in March 2001. Labour camp guards were especially cruel toward practitioners. They forced practitioners to work overtime and watch fabricated stories on videotape and television. Afterwards, practitioners were forced to report their thoughts. All practitioners who refused to slander Falun Dafa or Teacher in the meeting would be beaten right away. After the meeting, the guards would continue to torture them with electric batons. Once, Ms. Liao was shocked by electric batons all over her body so much that she rolled around on the ground. In the end, her entire body swelled up, and she passed away in mid-November 2006. -
Practitioner Mr. Zhao Facheng from Laizhou City, Shandong Province Dies as a Result of Persecution
2007-02-01When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to slander Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Zhao went to Beijing to explain the true situation to the government and was arrested by police and taken the notorious Laizhou City Brainwashing Centre twice. In 2005, after more than one month of intense persecution, Mr. Zhao felt ill and was examined at a hospital, where he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Even then, the 610 Office did not release him, but tried to extort money from a family member as "bail" before a trial. However, Mr. Zhao's family was unable to raise the money. On June 22nd, 2005, Mr. Zhao was extremely weak and his family members had to carry him out of the detention centre. Mr. Zhao's health worsened, and he died on January 12th, 2007. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yang Guifen from Dengfeng City, Henan Province Dies as a Result of Persecution
2007-01-31Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Yang Guifen was arrested on December 24th, 2005. She was held at Dengfeng City Detention Centre, where the guards savagely beat her. Ms. Yang Guifen was beaten until she suffered internal bleeding. She was also forced to do slave labour at the detention centre. She was forced to wear a pair of shackles weighing 19 kg [42 lbs] and was released in May 2006 when she was on the brink of death. She passed away on July 18th, 2006. -
Three Practitioners from Yibin City, Sichuan Province Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-01-30Ms. Zhang Sufang, 50, practised Falun Dafa for many years. She was monitored by the Party officials from her community over a long period of time. They also dropped in on her at home repeatedly to threaten her. Around October 1st, 2006, when she was posting Falun Dafa materials on the street, she was forcibly brought to the police station by plainclothes police and detained there. She was sent back home due to her weakened condition. She passed away soon afterwards. -
Over 200 Falun Gong Practitioners Die From Persecution in 2006
2007-01-28According to incomplete statistics from Minghui.net [Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net], 216 Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China died from persecution in 2006, among them were 99 women or 46 per cent of the deaths. The death toll has been confirmed through non-government sources. The 216 confirmed deaths from persecution in 2006 occurred throughout 26 provinces, cities and autonomous regions across the whole country. During the seven and a half year period from July 20th, 1999 to December 31st, 2006, so far a total of 3,011 Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed dead from persecution. -
The Persecution and Death of Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Hou Mingkai, Who Broadcast Videos Exposing the Persecution in Changchun City in 2002
2007-01-27Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Hou Mingkai was arrested in late 2001 for broadcasting videos exposing the persecution about Falun Dafa through the Changchun City cable network in March 2002. A witness who was arrested at the same time recalls:"I heard hitting noises [in the next room]. Hou Mingkai was very tough and he didn’t moan at all. I heard policemen say 'This person endures a great deal. We couldn’t break him, even after using all kinds of tortures.' I heard constant beating sounds and cursing by the police. Within 30 minutes the police said, 'Hou Mingkai is finished. He is dying!' Hou Mingkai died from torture later that night. The police tried to hide their crime. They told me, 'Hou Mingkai escaped. He jumped out of the window.'" -
Elderly Mr. Zhong Shubo from Hunan Province Dies as a Result of the Persecution
2007-01-27The 610 Office and the National Security Brigade persecuted 63-year-old Mr. Zhong Shubo's family repeatedly by threatening the family, confiscating property, extorting and imposing fines, putting Mr. Zhong's house under surveillance, arresting and detaining his family members, detaining them in forced labour camps, etc. Mr. Zhong believed in Dafa and never submitted even slightly to the pressure to give up his practice. Mr. Zhong's health was devastated after he was detained in a forced labour camp. He died on January 10th, 2007. -
216 Persecution-Related Deaths of Falun Gong Practitioners Verified in 2006
2007-01-2651-year-old Ms. Zhang Yunzhi began to practise Falun Dafa in October 1998. She never wavered in her belief in Falun Dafa, persisted in the practice, and also appealed for Dafa in Beijing. She was arrested five times and brutally tortured. After the first four arrests she was able to break free. After the fifth arrest, however, the police beat her until she nearly died. Her entire body became swollen and fluid oozed from her legs. Eventually she died from severe internal organ damage as a result of the beatings. -
Practitioners Persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Wuwei City, Gansu Province
2007-01-25Ms. Dong Jinlan was persecuted to death. In Wuwei City, in recent years, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents have perscuted six practitioners to death, looted more than one million yuan from practitioners, sentenced thirty practitioners to prison and another thirty-seven to forced labour camps. Countless stereos, TVs, washing machines and other electronic devices were confiscated from their homes. -
Three Falun Gong Practitioners from Beijing, Hebei Province and Liaoning Province Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-01-24Ms. Guo Jianju, 56, was detained and subjected to persecution several times because she persisted in doing Falun Gong exercises outdoors after the persecution began on July 20th, 1999. On April 18th, 2000, she was sentenced to one year of imprisonment in a forced labour camp. On October 28th, 2002, police arrested her again and she was sentenced to two and a half years in a forced labour camp, where sustained physical injuries. The long period of suffering finally caused her mental collapse. She died on November 26th, 2006. -
Three Practitioners from Beijing, Weifang, and Tangshan Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-01-23Practitioners Ms. Shao Yan and her husband firmly believed in Falun Gong and therefore were forced to become homeless. They then were arrested and Ms. Shao was sentenced to forced labour. Her husband, Li Wendong, was sent to a hospital because he had suffered long term torture. As a result, he was bedridden due to paralysis and even lost his memory. Ms. Shao Yan died on December 31st, 2006, due to long-term inhuman tortures. -
Police Officers from Changchun City, Jilin Province are Responsible for Ms. Luo Shuchun's Death
2007-01-22On December 13th, 2006, officers from Qinghe Street Police Station, Chaoyang Branch of the Changchun City Public Security Bureau broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Luo Shuchun. Immediately after, Ms. Luo's body flew out of the building and she died. The police are directly responsible for Ms. Luo's death. Yet, after Ms. Luo died, the police claimed that she had committed suicide and completely denied any responsibility. Meanwhile, they ransacked her home and took photographs.
