Yu Donghui, 68, Dies Due to Persecution
2012-01-11
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Donghui was sentenced by a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) court in 2008 to nine years in prison, and was then detained in the Siping Prison. Guards forced him to perform hard labour. Before the Christmas season of 2009, the guards forced the prisoners to manufacture strings of beads using toxic glue. Mr. Yu died on December 17th at the age of 68, after being subjected to severe persecution. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in 1999, Mr. Yu was arrested, detained and persecuted on several occasions. -
Crimes Committed by Yin Shunyao and Others at Xinjin Brainwashing Centre in Sichuan
2012-01-09Ms. Wang Mingrong, former head nurse, died as a result of persecution only ten days after she was arrested and sent to the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre (also known as the “Chengdu Legal Education Centre”). Insiders said that Wang Mingrong suffered horrendous torture. However, this is only one of over one thousand cases of serious human rights abuses carried out at the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre. According to practitioners who were detained at the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre, some of the torture methods used at the centre on practitioners include: brutal force-feeding, injection of drugs that damage the central nervous system, mixing poison in to food and water, severe beatings, forcing practitioners to stand for long periods of time as a form of punishment, as well as many other methods. -
Chengdu Police Cover Up Brainwashing Centre's Responsibility in Ms. Wang Mingrong's Death
2012-01-08Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Mingrong was arrested and taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre around September 7th. In less than ten days, she was dead. Further information showed that the Chengdu Police Department and other regime agencies tried various means to cover up the crime committed by brainwashing centre personnel where Ms. Wang died. Since the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre was set up in 2003, it is estimated that more than a thousand Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested and taken to this brainwashing centre. Many people who have been detained there were subjected to physical abuse, mistreatment and torture, including beatings, forced-feeding as a mean of torture, and having their food laced with poison which caused several deaths. -
Mr. Qiu Qinghua Passed Away after Suffering in Prison
2012-01-07Because he remained steadfast in his belief, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qiu Qinghua was repeatedly persecuted by the Liaozhong 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Domestic Security police. He was sent to a forced labour camp in 2002 and was sentenced to four years in prison in 2008. After he was tortured so severely that he was in danger of dying, the prison officials blackmailed his family and released him in August 2011. Just a few months later, on October 12th, he passed away. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Feng Zhongliang Died in June 2011 after Suffering Years of Persecution
2012-01-07Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Feng Zhongliang was arrested in the summer of 2006 while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong to a visitor from another bureau and was subsequently sentenced to prison. He was severely persecuted in Wumaping Prison, where he developed tuberculosis. He was released on April 28th, 2009, but could no longer walk. He suffered from multiple organ failure and severe shortness of breath. Feng Zhongliang died on June 6th, 2011, at the age of 48. -
Blinded by Persecution, Ms. Cui Rong from Qiqihar City Has Died
2012-01-05Sixty-eight year old Ms. Cui Rong started practising Falun Gong in 1995 and benefited both physically and mentally. After the persecution started in 1999, she was harassed and persecuted many times. As a result of torture, she became blind in both eyes. Ms. Cui was unable to take care of herself because of her blindness. When she was released from prison in 2006, she lived a hard and difficult life. She died on December 1st. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Li Tingfang Dies after Being Abused in Suining Brainwashing Centre
2012-01-04In July 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Tingfang was taken to the Suining Brainwashing Centre. She was released in October, and was noticeably slower mentally. Her symptoms became worse as time went on. She died on December 7th. She recounted her persecution experience of 2001: "They (police) transferred me to the Nanqiang Commune Brainwashing Centre. Guards Wang Xun and Mi Hao forced all of the practitioners to swear at Falun Gong every day. Another practitioner and I refused to. The guards then abused us in a number of ways, such as slapping us in the face, kicking and punching us, hanging us up by handcuffs, and depriving us of food." -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Huang Meiling Dies Tragically; Numerous Scars from Electric Shocks on Her Body
2011-12-29On December 10th, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Meiling died at the age of 63 despite efforts to save her at the Wuhan No. 1 Hospital. There were numerous scars on her head, underarms, inner thighs, buttocks, arms and legs. These scars were apparently caused by electric shocks and it is alleged that Ms. Huang was killed by electric shocks. Ms. Huang's body was burnt in several places and it produced a burnt smell. The medical staff commented, “What a smell! It really smells!” -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Hu Fengkui Passed Away After Being Sent Twice to Forced Labour Camps
2011-12-25Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hu Fengkui passed away on July 7th. He was arrested and detained three times, and twice sent to forced labour camps, for a total of four years for practising Falun Gong. He died at the age of 68. In 2000, Mr. Hu went to Beijing to appeal for the rights of Falun Gong and was arrested. He was sent to the Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp to serve a three-year term. The guards there were very cruel to Falun Gong practitioners and forced them to give up their belief by brainwashing and torturing them. Mr. Hu was held in the camp for 14 months. -
Mr. Zhang Chunfeng Tortured to Death Nine Years Ago
2011-12-25Mr. Zhang Chunfeng was subjected to many torture methods and died nine years ago at the age of 40. In 2001 he was arrested for distributing Falun Gong lectures to other practitioners and sentenced to two years of forced labour in Nanhu Forced Labour Camp. Mr. Zhang was tortured as he refused to give up his belief. The camp guards continually shocked his face, neck and other body parts with electric batons. The inmates beat Mr. Zhang, poked his body numerous times with needles, and burned him with cigarette butts. Mr. Zhang was forced to do hard labour for long periods of time. -
Ms. Zhao Yanxia, 55, Murdered After 23 Days of Imprisonment
2011-12-16On October 7th, Ms. Zhao Yanxia was tortured to death in the Jilin Province Women's Prison.. The area around her eyes was black and blue and she had bruises that clearly resulted from beatings. Ms. Zhao had only been transferred to this prison 23 days before. In order to cover up the true cause of death, the prison authorities told several lies. Initially, they said that a physical exam found that Ms. Zhao had high blood pressure and heart problems when being admitted to the prison. If true, why had they admitted her? Later, they said that Ms. Zhao wanted to commit suicide. And again later, they said that one can pass away while sleeping. Finally, they said that Ms. Zhao lay down at 7:00 p.m. and didn't pull through afterwards. -
Mr. Zhang Guihao Tortured to Death in a Shandong Brainwashing Centre
2011-12-16On November 11th, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Guihao was arrested at home by three plainclothes officers from the Zhaoyuan Domestic Security Division. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, a DVD player, a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and other personal belongings. He was later taken to the Lingnan Gold Mine Brainwashing Centre. His family went to the brainwashing centre inquiring about his whereabouts and the centre authorities refused to tell them. On November 30th, Mr. Zhang was tortured to death. The next day, his family was notified of his death only after the brainwashing centre authorities had a secret meeting. -
Elderly Woman Commits Suicide After Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Officials Deceive Her to Arrest Her Daughter
2011-12-13A tragic event happened recently in Yaodianzi village, located in Yishui county, Shandong province. Ms. Huang Chengmei is a Falun Gong practitioner. Her mother committed suicide by drinking poison because Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials asked her the whereabouts of her daughter and lied to her that nothing would happen to her daughter. The officials then abducted her daughter and sentenced her to two years of forced labour. Ms. Huang's mother full of guilt and regret sadly took her own life. -
Mr. Qin Yueming Persecuted to Death, His Wife and Daughter Arrested
2011-12-11Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qin Yueming, a Falun Gong practitioner died on February 26th 2011, as a result of persecution in Jiamusi Prison. Mr. Qin’s family has since been appealing and asking the government to punish the perpetrators, and to be compensated. However, instead of taking action on their claim, officials from Harbin arrested Mr. Qin’s wife, Ms. Wang Xiuqing, and his daughter, Qin Hailong, on November 13th. -
Mr. Li Kongxiang, 64, Dies after Three Days of Brutal Interrogation
2011-12-09Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Kongxiang, 64, died on November 11th after being interrogated and tortured for three days by police at the Sanmen County Special Patrol Division. On November 7th, a group of police broke into Mr. Li's home. They ransacked his house and arrested Mr. Li without showing any identification or legal documentation. In the following days, his family inquired about his whereabouts through various avenues, but they received no information. Three days later, Mr. Li's daughter received a phone call from police informing her that she needed come to pick up Mr. Li. Mr. Li was on the verge of death after three days of torture. He was very weak and unable to sit up. His whole head, back, abdomen, and inner thighs were black and blue. His stomach was discoloured and swollen. He died shortly after.
