Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Dai Zongqiu from Anqiu City, Shandong Province Dies as a Result of Persecution
2011-10-17Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Dai Zongqiu was persecuted numerous times by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents. He died in July 2011 while he was living away from home to avoid the persecution. After the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Dai was arrested, detained, and subjected to home ransacking and forced labour. -
Twelve Years of Atrocities at the Yunnan Province Women's Labour Camp
2011-10-17Ms. Yang Suhong, a 24-year-old practitioner, was sent to the Yunnan Women's Labour Camp on November 30th, 2004 by police and Communist Party officials. Ms. Yang was emaciated and near death as a result of brutal brainwashing and torture. She was released in May 2005. She died about one month later, on June 11th, 2005. Ms. He Meihua was subjected to brainwashing and had to do forced labour at the labour camp. Her physical condition gradually deteriorated and her life was in danger. Labour camp officials finally released her, but she died soon afterwards. -
The Persecution Suffered by Wang Yujie, a Young Woman from Hubei Province, before Her Death
2011-10-12On the morning of September 3rd, 2011, Ms. Wang Yujie from Wuhan City, who was only 24 years old, passed away as a result of brutal torture. On April 2nd, 2010, Ms. Wang, who was then 23 years old, was secretly sentenced to one year of forced labour and detained in Hewan Forced Labour Camp in Wuhan City. In the labour camp, team head Hu Fang ordered drug offenders to torture Ms. Wang. She was forced to squat for six days and nights. She was monitored by drug offenders who deprived her of sleep. Because she remained steadfast in her belief, Hu Fang ordered drug offender Cao Wenli to break her left leg and hit her in the head. After that, Cao Wenli and another convict, Zhou Yan, handcuffed her, shocked her with an electric baton, beat her for 40 minutes, and pulled out a huge clump of her hair. -
Director of Retirement Home Dies as a Result of Persecution in Panjin Prison, Liaoning Province
2011-09-27Mr. Fan Zhenguo was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2008 for practising Falun Gong. While in prison, he was subjected to forced labour, and he lost consciousness several times due to abuse. Three years later, on September 11th, 2011, he died as a result of persecution in Panjin Prison at the age of 50. On September 13th, prison authorities forced his family to cremate his body. -
Ms. Chang Xiuling Sentenced to Forced Labour, Her Husband Mr. Liu Zhirong Tortured to Death in 2006
2011-09-24On July 2nd, 2011, police ransacked Ms. Chang Xiuling's home without a warrant and arrested her. They took a computer and other personal belongings from her home. On July 31st, without any legal procedures, Ms. Chang was sentenced to one year in a forced labour camp. She was sent to the Liugouhe Women’s Forced Labour Camp in Yuzhong County, Gansu Province. Ms. Chang's husband, Mr. Liu Zhirong, was persecuted at Tianshui Prison. He was brutally tortured and passed away there on January 9th, 2006, at the age of only 42. -
Mr. Qin Yueming Died as a Result of Torture, Jiamusi Prison Officials Shirk Responsibility
2011-09-23Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qin Mingyue died in Jiamusi Prison as a result of torture on February 26th, 2011. His family sued Jiamusi Prison officials and sought compensation. After waiting five months, Mr. Qin’s family went to different government offices in Jiamusi City and Heilongjiang Province, hoping that Jiamusi Prison would reveal the real cause of his death. But the prison officials refused to cooperate and on August 5th formally declined to provide compensation. -
Mr. Fan Zhenguo Died As a Result of Persecution in Panjin Prison, Liaoning Province
2011-09-22Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Fan Zhenguo was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2008, and had been incarcerated in Panjin Prison ever since. He died recently in Panjin Prison. According to sources, there were several bruises on the back of Mr. Fan's body. Mr. Fan's family hired an attorney and a medical examiner to go to the Panjin Prison on September 13th. The prison authorities ordered Mr. Fan's body to be cremated on September 13th. -
24-Year-Old Ms. Wang Yujie Has Died after 14 Months of Persecution
2011-09-19On September 3rd, 2011, Ms. Wang Yujie died at the age of only 24. One year of forced labour and forced brainwashing killed the once-healthy young woman. On March 11th, 2010, Ms. Wang was arrested for posting Falun Gong informational stickers and speaking with people about Falun Gong in Wuhan City. In Hewan Forced Labour Camp, the head guard ordered the drug offender inmates to torture her. They made her squat every day, deprived her of sleep, and made her stand all day long. The inmates threatened her by saying, “If you don't 'transform' [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] after two weeks, we will make up an excuse so that we can hang you up by the handcuffs.” Ms. Wang was also forced to do hard labour. -
Police Refuse to Issue Death Certificate for Mr. Pan Benyu, Who Died As a Result of Torture in Prison
2011-09-19Mr. Pan Benyu from Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, saved the lives of six people. He firmly believed in Falun Gong and followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance but was sentenced to forced labour twice and to prison twice (once for four years, once for seven years) by Chinese Communist Party agents. After suffering repeated abuse and torture in police custody, he passed away on July 17th, 2011. Local police refused to issue a death certificate and cancelled his residence registration, claiming that it was because he was a “special figure.” -
Wife Requests Compensation after Mr. Wang Gang Dies from Torture
2011-09-16Mr. Wang Gang was arrested by police on July 22nd, 2002 for practising Falun Gong, and was subjected to several forms of brutal mistreatment during his detention. He was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment in January, 2004, and then taken to Baoding Prison, Hebei Province. Due to the inhuman mistreatment from prison guards, Mr. Wang developed gangrene in his legs, other body tissue and blood vessels. The prison authorities ordered an amputation but prevented his family from being informed. Mr. Wang was transferred to Jidong Prison. Mr. Wang Gang died on October 31st, 2009 at the age of 41. Mr. Wang Gang's wife Ms. Ren Guifang employed a lawyer from Beijing to represent her and submitted a "Claim for State Compensation (Criminal Compensation) Application" to Jidong Prison. However, Jidong Prison made a decision “Not to compensate” Ms. Ren. -
How Ms. Wang Guiqin, 66, from Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province Was Persecuted Before Her Death
2011-09-14Ms. Wang Guiqin was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) several times because she followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. On June 20th, she fell off of her motorcycle and hurt herself while being chased by the police. She was unconscious for over ten minutes. Police searched her, but did not find anything of interest. Because the fall was very bad, Ms. Wang Guiqin could not get up for three days and nights. She was very weak, and her hands and feet were numb. However, on August 8th she suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. -
Her Only Daughter Dead as a Result of Torture, Ms. Xiang Huaixiang is Sentenced to Seven Years of Imprisonment
2011-09-13Ms. Xiang Huaixiang was detained by the police on July 19th, 2010, and her home ransacked. She has appeared in court for trial four times between November 5th, 2010 and April 7th, 2011, and was finally sentenced to a seven-year jail term for the of “crime of sabotaging enforcement of the law.” The authorities confiscated 17,000 yuan in cash, a computer, a disc burner, and Falun Gong materials, as well as some personal belongings. In 2000 Ms. Xiang Huaixiang's only daughter, Ms. Chen Lijuan, who was around 20 years old at the time, was detained for doing the Falun Gong exercises at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Police locked her up at a detention centre. She became mentally disordered as a result of torture and intense stress. She died in November 2004. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Tortured to Death in 2001 in Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp in Hunan Province
2011-09-11Ms. Cao Jingzhen passed away on October 25th, 2001, at the age of only 52 as a result of being tortured in Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp. She was handcuffed behind her back, had her mouth stuffed with dirty socks and sealed with tape, and was punched, kicked, and shocked with electric batons. Ms. Cao protested, saying, “As a human being, you're supposed to have a good heart. How can you mistreat good people like this?” Before she had finished speaking, several guards assaulted her with electric batons so viciously that she passed out. -
Ms. Yu Yimin Persecuted to Mental Breakdown, Passes Away
2011-09-11Ms. Yu Yimin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Wuhan City, passed away on August 5th. She had been arrested five times, jailed in brainwashing centres three times, and sentenced to one year of forced labour for her belief. In detention, she was injected with unknown drugs, which along with the torture, caused her to suffer a mental breakdown. Ms. Yu was also fired by her company for her belief in Falun Gong. Without financial support, she became homeless and destitute. Her family was torn apart due to the persecution. -
Elderly Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Huang Kuixi, Brutally Tortured in a Forced Labour Camp Then Harassed at Home, Died in 2009 as a Result of Abuse While in Custody
2011-09-09Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Huang Kuixi was sentenced to forced labour in 2004 and brutally tortured during his detention in Jiutai Forced Labour Camp. Guards forced Mr. Huang to sit on a board for 18 hours a day, from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., during which time if he moved his feet slightly, he would be pressured to write a pledge to give up his practice of Falun Gong. If he refused, he was beaten mercilessly. Mr. Huang was forced to sit on a board for six months. This caused his buttocks to fester, and he even had difficulty taking off his trousers due to pus from the festered area making his trousers stick to his body. During this time, guards burned Mr. Huang with cigarettes four to five times. Mr. Huang passed away on September 23rd, 2009, at the age of 69.
