Beijing keeps silent about the number of death sentences but Amnesty International estimates that in 2005, the number was around 1,770 ... “China has so far deflected all discussions about this topic”, says Nicholas Bequelin, a Hong Kong based member of the human rights organisation Human Rights Watch. He thinks that transplantation medicine affects one of the most important human rights problems in China: the death penalty and the decline of medical ethics when organs are traded."

• Prague Daily Monitor: March in Prague Against Human Rights Violations in China on Friday

  "Organs are removed alive from imprisoned members of the Falun Gong movement in China," David Kilgour, lawyer and former Canadian State Secretary for Asia and the Pacific Area, says in a report he presented at a seminar in the Chamber of Deputies today. Kilgour says in his report that people are killed during the removal of organs or immediately after it. He plans to speak at a rally at Prague Castle tomorrow that will convene after a public march across Prague to raise awareness of the issue.

  On September 26th, Agence Télégraphique Suisse (ATS) of Switzerland published an article entitled “The United Nations is to Investigate China’s Organ Trade”. The article said that China was not able to stop the discussion in the UN Human Rights Commission about the allegation that it harvested organs from Falun Gong practitioners. The current meeting of commission members ended on October 6th. The UN rapporteur will look into the allegation and report back to the UN.

The Falun Gong practitioners in Bochum protested the atrocity of harvesting the organs from living people, which is happening in China, through this shocking scene on Falun Dafa Information Day."

  ZÜRICH – A flyer is making the rounds in the country. Whoever accepts this flyer reads about organ harvesting in China. This is an accusation that was confirmed by international experts. One first reads in this flyer, found on Switzerland’s trains, the story of Wang Yuzhi. This forty five year old lady was imprisoned in a Chinese labour camp from 2000 to 2002. The Falun Gong member was force fed after going on a hunger strike. She suffered from being force fed through an oversized tube that was forced through the nose to the stomach. She was fed with her feces and urine.
