Forced Labour Camp Deprives Ms. Li Xiuying of Visits, Causing Her Family Concern
2012-01-13On October 31st, Domestic security police officers arrested Ms. Li Xiuying because she talked to her relatives about Falun Gong. Ms. Li was sent to the Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp in Zizhong, Sichuan Province. The guards have not only prevented her attorney from visiting her, but have also not allowed visits from relatives. Her relatives are very worried about her. Ms. Li's family has reason to worry. To date, 14 Falun Gong practitioners have died as a result of being persecuted in Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp. -
Family Members of Falun Gong Practitioners Ignore Threats from Chinese Communist Authorities and Stand Up to Protest the Persecution
2012-01-13The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brutal suppression over the past 12 years has caused resentment among the general public. Currently there are many lawyers that will defend Falun Gong practitioners with a not-guilty plea. More and more people advocate an immediate end to the persecution. There is an increasing number of practitioners' family members that have the courage, despite the totalitarian environment, to sue the police that torture practitioners. -
Mr. Jiang Xuefu and His Wife Sentenced
2012-01-13The Dehui City Court held a second hearing for Mr. Jiang Xuefu and his wife Zhang Yu on November 15th, and sentenced them each to four years of imprisonment. Mr. Jiang was sent to Shiling Prison in Siping City, and Ms. Zhang was sent to Heizuizi Women’s Prison in Changchun City. On the afternoon of March 4th, 2011, Mr. Jiang Xuefu and his wife, Ms. Zhang Yu, were arrested one after the other, by Domestic Security Division officers from the Dehui Police Department and the Changchun Police Department. Valuable personal property was taken from their home. Their daughter was left alone at home, with no one to take care of her. -
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Agents Frequently Harass Practitioners in Rushan City, Shandong Province
2012-01-13Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members from Rushan City, Shandong Province have harassed practitioners over and over again. They have broken into and ransacked the homes of practitioners and robbed them. On December 16th, two men went to the home of Ms. Tang Yingli. They didn't introduce themselves or show any identification. They asked Ms. Tang if she was still practising Falun Gong. Once Ms. Tang gave an affirmative answer, they called for another two partners. Without any explanation, they robbed her home, and plundered her computer, printer, mobile phone, Falun Gong books, and materials exposing the persecution. They called her husband at work, ordered him home, forced him to sign a document, and threatened him to stay home and be ready for questions in the following days. -
Mr. Gong Fangli, 37, Dies Suddenly While in Custody of Huadian City Detention Centre
2012-01-12On October 26th, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gong Fangli was arrested by police. Mr. Gong was taken to the Huadian Detention Centre and detained for 14 months. He was deprived of family visitation the entire time. On December 28th, 2011, Mr. Gong's family was notified that Mr. Gong had been taken to Huadian Hospital. The family arrived at the hospital around 3:00 a.m., and Mr. Gong died at 5:00 a.m. Mr. Gong's death was devastating for his wife. She held their four-year-old child as tears covered her cheeks. The next day, December 29th, the detention centre authorities called Ms. Gong's wife in for a meeting. They claimed that Mr. Gong died of a heart attack resulting from natural causes. However, Mr. Gong was healthy before the arrest. -
Ms. Wang Haiqing of Anqiu City, Shandong Province, Sentenced to 12-Year Term and Tortured in Prison
2012-01-12Ms. Wang Haiqing started practising Falun Gong after the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started in 1999. Because Ms. Wang persisted in her faith and in telling people the truth about Falun Gong, she was sentenced to12 years in prison. After being imprisoned in the Anqiu City Detention Centre, Ms. Wang was handcuffed to an iron chair and was brutally force-fed, causing muscle atrophy and loss of feeling in her lower body. She had to lie on the ground and was unable to take care of herself. Currently, Ms. Wang is being brutally abused and persecuted in Shandong Women’s Prison. -
Wuhan Police Arrest 70-Year-Old Country Woman; Neighbours Condemn Officers' Behaviour
2012-01-12On November 1st, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dai Dezhen was arrested by police and taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Centre. Some brave neighbours have condemned the officers' behaviour. It is alleged that beatings of Falun Gong practitioners occur at the brainwashing centre every day. Torture methods often used are: slapping across the face, punching the head, slamming the body against the wall, gripping the throat, stamping on feet, beating with various objects, swearing, insulting, depriving of sleep, denying toilet use, forced long-term standing, hanging by handcuffs, shocking with electric batons, force-feeding, and more. -
Criminal Conduct of 610 Office Head Li Fenglin of Yushu City, Jinlin Province
2012-01-12After Li Fenglin assumed his position as the head of 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Yushu City, Jilin Province, he has consistently engaged in the persecution of Falun Gong. He not only directed the police, the prosecutors office and the court to persecute practitioners, he also personally carried out many operations. Because of him, some practitioners were killed, some lost their families, some became destitute and homeless, some had their salaries cut or lost their jobs. Several practitioners explained the facts about Falun Gong to him; his own relatives also told him to stop the persecution. But he refused to listen. -
Physician Wu Yihua Dies after Torture and Abuse at a Brainwashing Centre in Ziyang City, Sichuan Province
2012-01-11Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Yihua, in his 40s, was strong and healthy before he was arrested in October 2010. In order to force Mr. Wu to give up his belief in Falun Gong and give out other practitioners' names, guards at Er'ehu Brainwashing Centre tortured Mr. Wu with different methods. Mr. Wu was interrogated and physically abused for several days. Meanwhile, the brainwashing centre director, Xiao Hui, laced Mr. Wu's drinking water with a drug that damages the central nervous system and internal organs. Mr. Wu was also mentally abused and subjected to brainwashing. He died on December 12th, 2011. -
Yu Donghui, 68, Dies Due to Persecution
2012-01-11Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Donghui was sentenced by a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) court in 2008 to nine years in prison, and was then detained in the Siping Prison. Guards forced him to perform hard labour. Before the Christmas season of 2009, the guards forced the prisoners to manufacture strings of beads using toxic glue. Mr. Yu died on December 17th at the age of 68, after being subjected to severe persecution. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in 1999, Mr. Yu was arrested, detained and persecuted on several occasions. -
Exposing the Mianyang Hi-Tech District Brainwashing Centre in Sichuan Province
2012-01-11On October 19th, police deceived Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Yancai, 69, into stepping out of his home and going downstairs, whereupon Mr. Wang was arrested. He is currently being detained in the Mianyang Hi-tech District Brainwashing Centre. The so-called “educators” employ a variety of brainwashing tactics in an attempt to force practitioners to write guarantee statements to renounce practising Falun Gong. Practitioners who resist are verbally abused and threatened with forced labour and job loss, and their family members are also threatened with losing their jobs. Practitioners who do not succumb to brainwashing have been taken to forced labour camps or detention centres, where they were subjected to torture. -
75-year-old Zhang Dengchun in Precarious Condition after Severe Persecution in Prison
2012-01-11Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Dengchun has been detained and persecuted many times since 2000. In July 2009, Zhang Dengchun was arrested again by police for distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution, and sentenced to four years. Again, he was sent to Jiuquan Prison. Mr. Zhang was forced to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong. Guards forced him to stay in the corridor on the floor in the winter and intentionally let him freeze. The police instigated prisoners to drag him by the arms and force him to run in the courtyard. This so-called forcible “transformation” process lasted for over two years. Mr. Zhang's health became worse and worse. He lost control of his bladder and bowels. -
Tongchuan District Court in Dazhou Sentences Five Practitioners to Prison
2012-01-10The Tongchuan District Court tried five practitioners on December 21st, and issued sentences on December 28. Ms. Tao Dafeng, in her 60s, was sentenced to ten years in prison; Ms. Xia Bi, in her 50s, was sentenced to eight years; Ms. Li Lei, 45, and Mr. Ran Wenxue, in his 60s, were both sentenced to five years; and Ms. Guo Defen, in her 60s, was sentenced to a three-year term. -
Mr. Zheng Deming's Self-Defence in Court
2012-01-10Mr. Zheng Deming, 66, was first arrested on New Year's Day in 2000, as he practised the Falun Gong exercises in a park. He was sentenced to three years in prison. He was again sentenced, this time to seven years in prison, from 2002 to 2009, and was incarcerated in the Chaohu City Prison. He was arrested on June 24th, 2011, by officers from the Haozhou Street Police Station and the Luyang District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Domestic Security Team, and detained in Hefei City Second Detention Centre. The Luyang District Court tried him on December 13th, without notifying his family. -
Zhou Xiangyang's Brother and Sister-In-Law Detained In Langfang City Brainwashing Centre
2012-01-10On November 21st, police arrested Mr. Zhou Xiangyang's elder brother, Zhou Xiangdang, and his wife, Li Xiangling, along with three practitioners who were visiting his elderly mother. It was said that the Tangshan Police Department sent out an order to investigate the organiser of a joint letter asking for Zhou Xiangyang's release. This investigation effort was being coordinated by the central regime authorities.
