  Because my husband was also a staff member of the police force, he knew that without legal evidence, the detention centre could only detain a person for a maximum of 15 days. The section chief of the Political and Security Section, Yang Jingping, cursed him profanely many times, saying, "I am the law! If I want to detain your wife till she dies, what can you do to me?" • Dark Den of Evil at Qinhuangdao City Police Department

  The police arrested everybody whose names were given, tortured them, and deprived them of sleep until they talked. If no information was given, the Dafa practitioners were detained or sent to a forced labour camp. A total of 70 practitioners were arrested, and quite a few Dafa materials production sites were destroyed, and tens of thousands of Yuan worth of equipment was lost. Almost every arrested practitioner was brutally beaten and tortured, and their bodies were covered with wounds.

• Cruel Torture of Dafa Practitioners at Changchun City Detention Centre

  Using a kind of stink "bomb" to assist in the forced feeding: If the practitioners refused to open their mouths, detention centre doctors would make use of a drug called a "bomb"(We don't know the nature of this drug) that emits a very strong odour. The smell is so strong that the hunger strikers had to open their mouths to breathe, allowing the police to force-feed them. Some practitioner's noses were badly injured by this "bomb".

• Additional Facts Regarding the Murder Of Dafa Practitioner Li Shumin by the Banqiao Women's Prison in Tianjin City

  Ms. Li Shumin was about 30 years old and she worked as the head nurse at the Medical Centre of the Second Medical College in Tianjin City. She was illegally detained at the 5th Brigade in Banqiao Women's Prison in Dagang. The prison guards constantly tortured her because she refused to give up her faith in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. She was only allowed to sleep for one hour each day, and was forced to do hard labour day and night while being subjected to beating and torture.

  All kinds of torture in prison caused this healthy young woman to become emaciated and handicapped. In late June, Xiao Yafang was on the verge of death. The police was afraid to be held accountable for her condition and released her. They attempted to force her to give them 10,000 Yuan, and eventually extorted 2000 Yuan from her family. More information is being sought through an investigation.

One day the police pushed Liao Yuanhua onto a pile of burning bricks. With smoke coming from his burnt body and with miserable cries, Liao Yuanhua fainted. The police laughed mercilessly at seeing his suffering.

Occasionally the quality of the food improves, but this is only the case when people come to inspect the labour camp or when news reporters come for interviews. When those people arrive, the practitioners who courageously speak out to expose the evildoers in the camp are taken away and closely supervised, while a few carefully chosen former practitioners who turned against Dafa under torture are allowed to go out and sing praises of the labour camp.

On the contrary, they threatened and harassed Chen's family members by admitting, "Your husband was killed by us for practising Falun Gong. We have gone to a lot of trouble in meeting quota [the given quota of killing Falun Gong practitioners]. How dare you speak out?! You want to be killed!?" After Chen died, Shantou City experienced thunderstorms for a whole week.
