• Practitioners from Yulin City, Guangxi Province Have Endured Years of Persecution

  Yang Dong was a student at the Tsinghua University. Because he has persevered in his belief of Falun Gong he was expelled from university. He had been arrested and detained many times. On December 27th, 2005 he was released from the forced labour camp. Yang Dong's mother went to visit him at the forced labour camp and found that he was tortured to the point of insanity and that he had scars from being burned by cigarettes. Yang Dong was tortured so severely that he finally lost his sanity. However, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) tried to blame Falun Gong and declared that he became mad because of his practice of Falun Gong. Finally his mother had to take him to a mental hospital. To the present time, his mental health has not improved.

• Authorities in Gaomi City, Shandong Province Harass and Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners Using Security for the Olympics as an Excuse

  The Olympic Torch arrived in Shandong Province on July 20th, 2008. Police stations in villages and towns in Shandong Province received orders from Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials to facilitate the arrests of Falun Gong practitioners. On July 9th, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sui Mingying from Qiao Village was arrested by Juchenghe police officers. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books, and about 60 CDs exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Sui was then arrested and taken to a police station.

• Practitioners Transferred to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp from Beijing

  Chen Yan persisted in practising Falun Gong exercises at Masanjia Labour Camp and refused to do slave labour. In retaliation she was tortured and chained to her bed for an extended period of time. Since the end of June 2008, on numerous occasions, the vicious guards instigated common criminals to brutally beat Chen Yan. On one occasion, Chen Yan's head was seriously injured and required over 40 stitches. On July 17th and 18th, Chen Yan suffered numerous beatings and her head was injured again and was bleeding.

• Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured and Killed at "Lanzhou Legal Training School"

  In July, 2005, the "Lanzhou Legal Training School" locked practitioner Ms. Liu Zhifang, 48 years old, an actress at the Lanzhou Yu Opera, in a confinement cell in the south western corner of the labour camp. They first handcuffed Ms. Liu behind her back, then they hung her up. Ms. Liu ran a fever, so the doctor on duty gave her an IV (which usually contains unknown drugs). On a July night, Ms. Liu died. The Gongjawan Brainwashing Centre announced that Ms. Liu Zhifang committed "suicide"(including a document that was sent to all levels of government officials). They threatened people who knew the truth so they would not reveal it. To eliminate the evidence Ms. Liu's body was cremated without an autopsy.

• My Family's Suffering under the Persecution

  In August 2001, I was sent to Deyang Prison, and forced to sleep on an iron bed without a mattress. It was difficult to sleep on such a bed, so I got up to practise the Falun Gong exercises. I did them only for more than ten minutes, and was discovered by a patrolling inmate surnamed Long. He, along with five other inmates, dragged me down from the bed and beat me. Later, I was forced to stand in a military posture. I couldn't keep my eyes open. I heard a guard shout at me viciously. Before I could react to him, he slapped me on both sides of my face continuously until he felt pain on his hand. Prisoner Wang gave him a table tennis paddle, and the guard chopped at my face with the paddle.

• Wangqing County Police in Jilin Province Arrest Many Falun Gong Practitioners

  On July 10th, 2008, the Politics and Law Committee of Wangqing County, Jilin Province, the National Security Team of the County Police Department and the 610 Office implemented wide ranging arrests of Falun Gong practitioners in Wangqing County, using the "safety of the Olympics torch" in Yanji City as a reason. Police from various local police stations knocked on Falun Gong practitioners' doors and deceived their family members by saying that they just wanted to take the practitioners to the local police station and would send them back home soon. Some directly went to the practitioners' work places and deceived those kind practitioners with a similar trick to direct them to various local police stations. After the practitioners went to the police stations, they were interrogated and forced to copy the related provisions of law that contained slanderous content about Falun Gong.

• Practitioner Mr. Li Zengfeng of Guan County, Shandong Province Dies Shortly After Release from Brainwashing Centre

  On March 7th, 2008, police and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials arrested practitioner Mr. Li Zengfeng and his wife Ms. Xu Qiaoyun and sent them to the Guan County Detention Centre. Mr. Li Zengfeng was sentenced to forced labour and transferred to Wangcun Forced Labour Camp on April 11th, 2008. The officials at the labour camp refused to accept Mr. Li because he had high blood pressure and a heart disorder. His overall health was in poor condition and police sent Mr. Li to the Liaocheng brainwashing centre. Soon after his release from the brainwashing centre, Mr. Li became critically ill and died at the age of 44 years old. On July 13th, 2008, his body was cremated.

• Ms. Han Fenglan Dies after Suffering Mental Collapse as Result of Persecution

  Ms. Han Fenglan, in her 50s, lived in Heilongjiang Province. Because she refused to give up her faith in Falun Gong, at the end of 2006, she was arrested twice by police officers from the town station and the county department. She was threatened and tortured in the Fuyu County Police Department, which caused her to suffer a mental collapse. After her release, she lived in terror, constantly telling others that officers were following her, and hid under a blanket in terror. She was found dead at her home on July 18th, 2008, apparently from a self-inflicted hanging.

• Jilin Province Authorities Intensified the Persecution Before the Arrival of the Olympic Torch Relay

  Before the Olympics Torch Relay reached Jilin Province on July 15th, 2008, the authorities intensified the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. They arrested many practitioners and did not spare anyone, not even practitioners in their 70s. At 11 p.m. on July 13th, 2008, Jilin City Police Department in Jilin Province sent out at least four police cars and a van to forcefully take away Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners arrested included Mr. Li Zhanxin in his 70s, his wife Feng Fengyun (age 71) as well as their son Mr. Li Wenjun (age 42). It was reported that Mr. Li Wenjun is currently being incarcerated at the No. 3 Detention Centre of Jilin City. The older couple Li Zhanxin and Feng Fengyun are being detained in a brainwashing class.

• Xingtai Police Set to Sentence Adolescent Girls Wang Hui and Wang Tong

  On June 17th, 2008, in the name of Olympics security, police officials broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Feng Chao. Ms. Feng was not home at the time so she escaped the raid. Nonetheless five of Ms. Feng's family members were arrested, including her mother who is in her seventies, her brother who had came to visit their mother, her husband, and their twin daughters. There were also visitors to the house that day and they were arrested as well. All five family members are now in detention and being persecuted. Xingtai Police Bureau has submitted the case to the Provincial Office for sentencing. The family is charged with producing Falun Gong materials for distribution. The twin girls are just 17 years old. They are suffering from both mental and physical trauma and drastic weight loss.

• Account of Persecution in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison

  Ms. Li Ling was arrested twice for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling the Jinzhou City Political and Legal Committee Party Secretary the facts about Falun Gong and that Falun Gong teaches people to follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance. She was sentenced to four years in prison. One day after work, she cried out, "Falun Gong is good!" They confined her to an isolated cell, and the prison guards ordered prisoner Zhang Chun'e to guard her. Zhang was in her 20's, and she was very cruel. She often tied Ms. Li to the bed, taped her mouth shut, slapped her face with a shoe or sat on her stomach. Ms. Li eventually died due to the torture.

• What Have the Beijing Olympic Games Brought the People in China?

  The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are coming. The Olympic Games are supposed to be a good thing, but the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has turned China upside down on account of it and brought the Chinese people nothing but fear and disaster. On July 25th, 2008, police in Wanquan County, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province arrested Falun Gong practitioners county-wide. Police broke into the homes of practitioners after midnight and arrested them. It has been confirmed that at least 16 practitioners in Wanquan County were arrested on July 25th alone. To prevent Falun Gong practitioners from going to Beijing, the local authorities ordered employers of practitioners and the local governments to confiscate their IDs by force or lies and have arranged for many people to spy on practitioners, violating their human rights.

• The Chinese Communist Party's Desperate Attempts to Avoid Losing Face while Hosting the Olympics

  According to a reliable source, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) recently transferred criminal justice students in colleges nationally to Beijing in succession as "servers" and turned taxi drivers in Beijing into armed police. The party claims this is necessary to ensure the safety of the Olympic Games. On the one hand, it exposes how the CCP wants to destroy more people as they kidnap the students and force the taxi drivers into being armed police in the public security system, risking their lives. On the other hand, it exposes the desperate state that the CCP is in, fearing every living thing is their enemy.

• Police Arrest Practitioners "Because of the Olympics" in Songyuan City, Fuyu County, Jilin Province

  Since May 21st, 2008, the police departments of Jilin Province and Songyuan City have been secretly arresting Falun Gong practitioners in Songyuan City and its subordinate district under the pretext of Olympics "security." Many practitioners in Fuyu County have been arrested. On July 11th, Songyuan City and Fuyu County police executed another round of arrests and harassment involving practitioners in Fuyu County.

• The Xingtai Police and 610 Office Routinely Impose Heavy Fines on Falun Gong Practitioners

  For nine years, heavy fines have been routinely used by the police and 610 Office agents in Xingtai, Hebei Province as just one of the means to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Wu Shuqi, the head of this local National Security Brigade office, pointed at his luxury car and boasted in public, "This vehicle was obtained by soliciting money". He had hired people to spy on Falun Gong practitioners. He often tracks practitioners and brings a camera with him when searching the homes of practitioners who are prosperous. Whenever he finds Falun Gong books and leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, he extorts heavy fines. In 2007 alone, he extorted heavy fines from over ten practitioners.
