They came to Paris to attend the Chinese New Year Celebrations staged by the Chinese and French Governments. The arrested people did not protest. They only wore yellow. Two women were arrested while they walked on the Champs Eylsees. When they asked the reason for their arrest the police said: “You are wearing yellow - today yellow is illegal.”"

A Letter from Swedish Falun Gong Practitioners to the Chinese Ambassador to Sweden
2004-02-25"There is no time to lose in bringing these criminals to justice. The despicable crimes perpetrated by Jiang Zemin and his accomplices have been exposed in broad daylight. The morality and conscience of the human race will not allow these crimes to continue unchecked. More and more people in the international community have stood up to voice their concerns over the horrendous human rights violations in this four-year-old campaign of persecution, which has been happening with unimaginable severity on an unprecedented scale in human history. We hope that Chinese officials on all levels could also wake up to the cruel reality and start doing whatever is in their powers to try to put an end to the evil persecution as quickly as possible."

2004-02-25"They handcuffed me and then stood on my hands. They whipped me with a leather belt and they used an electric-shock baton with 30,000 volts on sensitive parts of my body. Then they caused unimaginable pain by using the edges of a small wooden stick to press down on my toes. Finally they poured chilli powder into my mouth and nose. I still would not give them an answer and they all beat me together. The torture lasted from 5pm until 3am. Finally, they said if I gave them my name and address they would release me..."

Radio France Internationale: International Societies are Concerned about the Unreasonable Arrests and Mistreatment of Falun Gong Practitioners by the French Police
2004-02-25'On the 27th of last month, during the visit to France of Hu Jintao, the President of China, it was said that the French police treated some Falun Gong practitioners in an uncivilised manner. The “International Organisation for the Investigation of the Persecution of Falun Gong”, which is based in Canada, and some other international human rights organisations wrote a letter to Chirac, France’s president, expressing serious concern over this incident.'

International Law Seminar held in Dublin to discuss Lawsuits Against Chinese Human Rights Offenders
2004-02-24In Trinity College Dublin on Monday the 24th of February, a seminar was successfully held to discuss the wave of international lawsuits targeting Chinese officials who have participated in the campaign of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners. The aim of the seminar was to share legal expertise and experience in this regard, as well as to raise awareness about persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Academics and students of Trinity College, as well as members of the public attended the seminar.

Sweden: Peaceful Appeal at the Chinese Embassy Receives Media Attention and Public Support
2004-02-24On the 20th of February 2004, Swedish Falun Gong practitioners gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Stockholm. Their presence was once again to appeal for Jiang Zemin, the chief perpetrator of the persecution against Falun Gong, and his main accomplices, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang, to be dealt with according to the rule of law.

Vice Consul General of the Chinese Embassy in Russia Coerces a Russian Inhabitant to Denounce his Belief by taking his Relatives in China Hostage
2004-02-23On February the 12th 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Li Dan, an inhabitant of Irkutsk City in Russia, received news that his forty one year-old sister Li Xia, also a Falun Gong practitioner, was kidnapped at home in Shenyang City. Over ten security guards got involved in the kidnapping of Li Xia, who is now imprisoned in a detention centre in Shenyang City.
