Exposing the Brainwashing Centre in Plant 854, Pengzhou City
2008-09-30
A brainwashing centre is located inside of Plant 854, an abandoned military logistics plant. The local 610 Office rented over 20 rooms from the plant during the Beijing Olympics and uses them as a brainwashing centre to secretly persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Many practitioners were tortured to death or physically disabled in the previous brainwashing centre. Furthermore, the Pengzhou 610 Office colluded with the mental hospital in Pengzhou to inject drugs to damage practitioners' central nervous systems. Falun Gong practitioners were mentally healthy, but they were so severely tortured with the injections, that they were incoherent and appeared mentally ill after one night. -
Ms. Ding Guiying from Honggang District, Daqing City Sentenced to Forced Labour
2008-09-30Ms. Ding Guiying, in her fifties, makes a living as a hairdresser and also rents out some apartments. Since she began practising Falun Gong in 1996, she followed the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance and was known to be a noble person. She provided warm and thorough service to her customers. For those who rented her apartments, she provided them with quilts without any charge. Her husband passed away a long time ago. She raised her two daughters on a meagre income. From the perspective of her neighbours, Ms. Ding is kind hearted and has a strong will. Yet, with no regard for her upstanding character, the authorities sentenced her to forced labour recently. -
Former Professor at Tsinghua University Exposes the Persecution of Falun Gong
2008-09-29On March 13th, 2006, two dozen police officers broke into Dr. Xu Yan's house and began searching for Falun Gong related materials. When the police found Falun Gong books they arrested Xu and his wife. Mr. Xu was taken to court and sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp. A policeman told him, "It's dangerous for us to catch criminals but it is not so with Falun Gong practitioners. We also get cash awards for arresting practitioners." "We are catching Falun Gong practitioners in preparation for the Olympics in two years." For eight months, he was locked in solitary confinement and was forced to sit on 1/3 of a small stool that was only 12-inches tall all day. He wasn't allowed to move or close his eyes and suffered terrible physical pain due to the strange sitting position. -
Ms. Zhou Shanhui's Life in Danger from Torture at the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre
2008-09-29On May 24th, 2008, practitioner Ms. Zhou Shanhui was arrested while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in Hongyan Town, and was beaten by police to the point where the rubber baton was broken in half. She was then detained in a detention centre, where guards wired her arms and legs onto a bed frame, cutting into her flesh and causing her excruciating pain. Guards beat her severely. When she held a hunger strike, she was force-fed with highly-concentrated salt water, causing Ms. Zhou to be in extreme pain. Her life is in danger. -
Ms. Chen Lichun in Dire Need of Treatment to Avoid Amputation, Labour Camp Authorities Refuse to Release Her
2008-09-29Falun Gong practitioner 37-year-old Ms. Chen Lichun is being held in Heilongjiang Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. After being tortured, she is in danger of losing her legs. Her brother borrowed 40 thousand yuan and tried to bail her out to go to a hospital. However, none of the guards received any of the money except the 3rd group head, Ning Lixin. All the money has gone into his pocket for the past two years, and he has still not allowed her to be bailed out. -
Jiang Derong in Critical Condition at Daqing City Prison
2008-09-29In May 2002, police went to Mr. Jiang Derong's home to arrest him. When the police arrived, neighbours started to gather outside to see what was going on. The arresting officers deceived them by saying that they were called in to prevent Mr. Jiang from killing his parents. Soon fire fighters showed up to break a window so the police could enter. Mr. Jiang was arrested and sentenced to seven years in the Hongweixing Prison in Daqing City. On January 26th, 2006, guards took Mr. Jiang and fellow practitioners, out in public and mercilessly beat them. About a year ago, Mr. Jiang started showing signs of pulmonary tuberculosis - a direct result of the physical and mental abuse he suffered at the prison. -
Mr. Yu Ming's Forced Labour Term Extended - Suffering Torture in Liaoning Province
2008-09-28Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Ming is from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. For eight of the past nine years of persecution, he has suffered three terms of forced labour and has been tortured with many different means, including being tied to a tiger bench. His latest term should have ended on September 2nd, 2008, but he is still being detained. Mr. Yu Ming previously ran a clothing factory, and had become very affluent. However, because he spent eight years in forced labour camps, the business lost money and he had to close it down. His family also lost their source of income. -
Mr. Guo Zhiwei Severely Tortured in Jidong Prison
2008-09-28On August 2nd, 2008, Guo Zhiwei, a Falun Gong practitioner, was abducted from his own electric sawing company by police, who beat him brutally. There were bruises all over his body. He was taken to Jidong Prison. For over a month, Mr. Guo could not ingest food or water, and he is now in an extremely frail condition. While bedridden, he was tortured daily with force-feeding. He has suffered from fevers, stomach aches, diarrhoea, and low blood pressure. This is the fifth time that Mr. Guo has been persecuted by the Shiyou Public Security Bureau and the Renqiu City People's Court. -
The "Little White Building" Brainwashing Centre in Baoding City, Where Falun Gong Practitioners Are Brutally Persecuted
2008-09-28Baoding Forced Labour Camp adopted brutal methods to try to forcibly "transform" Falun Gong practitioners. These tortures included forcing practitioners to use both hands to hold their heads and feet while staying in a squatting position for a long time, to lie on a wooden board, to be handcuffed to a bed frame for a long time in an awkward position, unable to stand or sit comfortably; and to endure "stewing the eagle" (long-term sleep deprivation). Political instructors often ordered criminal inmates such as robbers and thieves to beat and torture practitioners Wang Defu and Yu Yongqi with electric batons. -
Two Older Ladies from Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province, Abused
2008-09-28On July 22nd, 2008, four police officers broke into 62-year-old Ms. Zhao Fengying's home. Ms. Wu Suqiong and her daughter were staying with Ms. Zhao. The police then ransacked her home. When one of the officers tried to take away items related to Falun Gong, Ms. Zhao tried her best to stop him. The police mercilessly beat Ms. Zhao, Ms. Wu, and her daughter. They also sprayed some unknown drug on Ms. Zhao's face that made her fall on the ground and lose consciousness. The three ladies were taken to the Jinan City Detention Centre. Ms. Zhao said, "How can you beat her (Ms. Wu) so brutally. Don't you have any humanity left?" The deputy director responded, "As long as you insist on practising Falun Gong, we will beat you to death." -
Nineteen Practitioners Held at a Brainwashing Centre in Laishui County, Hebei Province
2008-09-27Police officers from the National Security Team, Police Department and the 610 Office in Laishui County, Hebei Province staged mass arrests of Falun Gong practitioners, ransacked their homes, sentenced them to prison and detained them before the Beijing Olympics. After they were held at the Laishui County Detention Centre, some practitioners were taken to the brainwashing centre at the target practice field which is located in Laishui County. The target practice field was supposed to be a training place for the militia, but it has become an important site where Laishui County Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials torture Falun Gong practitioners. -
Massive Arrests in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
2008-09-27On April 15th, 2008, 610 Officers started arresting Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioner Ms. Li Wei was on a business trip and thus avoided arrest. However, her husband, Yang Haidong, was arrested. Officials from Ms. Li's workplace visited her parents claiming they would guarantee her safety and a normal working environment [if she would return]. After receiving the information, Ms. Li believed that her company officials were sincere, so she returned to work on July 21st. Two 610 Office agents then took her away and admitted her to the Sanshui Brainwashing Centre. -
Police Arrest Ms. Chen Fang, a Practitioner from Xianning City, Hubei Province
2008-09-27On July 14th, Ms. Chen Fang, a practitioner, was forced into a car as she was walking with her daughter. Her neighbour wrote down the licence plate number. Informants said that it was a car from the Wenquan Police Bureau, in Xianning City. Soon after Ms. Chen was arrested, several policemen went to Ms. Chen Fang's home with an arrest document and forced her mother-in-law to sign it. Enraged at this, her mother-in law refused to sign the arrest document and chastised the police for behaving like gangsters. Ms. Chen Fang was taken to a brainwashing centre. Her husband, Mr. Yu Jinguang, has been sentenced to three years of forced labour. -
The Persecution of Ms. Zhao Fengying from Panzhihua City
2008-09-27Ms. Zhao Fengying, who was 60 years old, went to Beijing twice to appeal to the government on behalf of Falun Gong. In November 1999, she was detained at the Renhe District Detention Centre. In order to protest her detention, she went on a hunger strike. The guards brutally force-fed her. They then sent her to hospital and tied her limbs to a bed and had police officers stand by the entrance to her cell as they injected her with unknown drugs. In December, she was sentenced to a forced labour camp for one year. It was not until January 2003 that Ms. Zhao was finally able to leave the forced labour camp. Soon after she returned home, she was again repeatedly harassed by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members. -
Brutally Tortured into Mental Instability, Ms. Tan Xiufen Jumped from a Building to Her Death
2008-09-26Two months after Ms. Tan Xiufen was released from the Tiandong County Detention Centre, she jumped from the fifth floor of her apartment building and died on March 27th, 2006. In the detention centre she suffered many kinds of torments, and brainwashing. The guards threatened her husband and her son to pressure her to give up her belief in Falun Gong. Unable to endure these tortures, she wrote a "Guarantee Statement" to give up her practice. Her behaviour became psychotic. After she returned home she often seemed to be in a state of abject terror. From investigation we can conclude that Ms. Tan Xiufen became mentally disordered due to the brutal persecution implemented by the police.
