  • The Police in Yinchuan City Set a Trap for Falun Gong Practitioners

    On May 14, 2005, Yinchuan City Police Department members held an exhibition to slander Falun Dafa. Many practitioners who had learned about the propaganda arrived at the exhibition. Plainclothes police used the phony excuse of "someone reported you" to forcibly check practitioner Ms. Zhang Wenjuan's bag, and arrested her and another practitioner. Then, the police searched Ms. Zhang's home and took away many leaflets exposing the persecution and Video CDs of The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
  • Dutch Falun Gong Practitioner Kidnapped in China

    Peter Valk, a 28-year-old Dutch man from Woerden, was kidnapped from his hotel room by 15 Chinese secret agents in the night of the 24th to the 25th of May. He was forced into a car with his head between his knees under a blanket and taken to the local ‘6-10 Office’. After two and a half days of detention, he was put on a plane to Thailand on the 28th of May and told he is prohibited from entering China for the next five years. The only reason for his arrest is that Peter practises Falun Gong, a meditation practice for mind and body.
  • After Repeated Arrests and Heavy Fines, Ms. Su Baoli Sent to a Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Su Baoli, 28, is a Dafa practitioner from Shandong Province. The police recently arrested her and her parents again following searches of their homes. Although the police extorted 10,000 yuan from the family, Ms. Su was still kept in the police detention centre for one month. The family had to borrow the money from friends and relatives in order to pay it to the police. On April 15, 2005, she was transferred to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp for continued persecution. Her pre-school child was left at home without a mother's care.
  • "610 Office" Collaborates With Police to Persecute Practitioners, Terrorising an Elderly Grandmother and Her Grandson in Jiamusi City

    In April 2002, "610 Office" officials in Jiamusi City came up with a sinister plan to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Five of them ended up arresting a group of practitioners, including an elderly lady of 80 and a child of just 2 years old. The child was panic-stricken when he saw so many policemen shouting demands at his grandmother. He hugged his grandmother's neck and buried his head deeply, not daring to look up again. The policemen struggled to prise the child away from his grandmother and eventually they were separated, with the poor child howling and crying.
  • Employees of the Children's Art School of the Hunan Province Department of Culture Are Forced to Defame Falun Gong

    February 21, 2005 was the starting date for a new term at the Children's Art School of the Hunan Province Department of Culture. Just one week later, the young students in the No. 4 Calligraphy and Painting class were surprised to find that their very popular teacher, Ms. Gong Xianghui, had disappeared. Their teacher, Ms. Gong, is a Falun Gong practitioner. The school administration fired her because she refused to sign the so-called "safety responsibility letter," which contained statements that defamed Falun Gong.
  • Circumstances Surrounding the Disappearance of Several Falun Dafa Practitioners

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Chunhua, 50, was resident in Shandong Province. In September 2000 she walked for 19 days to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. When she reached Beijing, she was forcibly taken back to her hometown by the police and unjustly detained for two weeks. She was then released. She was again arrested on her way to Beijing to appeal shortly after and viciously tortured. On her third attempt to appeal she left home on January 17, 2001, and to this day she has not returned, and her whereabouts are unknown.
  • High School Affiliated with Chongqing University Uses Slanderous Article to Poison the Minds of Children

    On January 19 2005, right before the winter break, the high school affiliated with Chongqing University gave every student a short article slandering Falun Gong as homework over the break. The students were told to transcribe the entire article and encouraged to enter writing contests by writing similar articles. Students who did not complete the homework would not be allowed to attend school the following term. This approach used to poison the minds of children made many people very upset.
  • A German Student Urgently Appeals to Rescue her Mother who was Kidnapped in Beijing

    On 5th April 2005, the Falun Gong Information Centre received an SOS letter from Liu Fang. She wrote in her letter that her mother, Ms. Liu Yawen was arrested on Thursday 31st March by the local police in Beijing when distributing Falun Gong Video-CDs and her whereabouts is unknown. Afterwards, the street committee Members and the local police came and searched Liu’s home together. Because Ms Liu Yawen lives by herself, Liu Fang could only find out about her mother’s welfare through friends and family, but they have been unsuccessful and couldn’t get through the information blockade.
  • Zhangjiakou City Police Persecute Ms. Cai Jinhua and Extort Money from Her Family

    On December 15, 2001, practitioner Ms. Cai Jinhua went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. Police arrested her and placed her in the Haidian District prison. Local officials forced her husband to pay 3,000 yuan for her release. Her husband could only borrow 1,000 "yuan" from his work place to pay them. On December 18, police again arrested Ms. Cai and put her in the county jail. The 610 Office threatened her husband, saying that she would be put into a forced labour camp. He was so afraid for her that he borrowed 5,200 yuan to pay the authorities.
  • A 13-Year-Old Girl's Heartbreaking Story: Interview With Li Ying, Daughter of Ms. Chen Shulan

    Li Ying, 13 years old, is the daughter of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Shulan from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Li Ying's mother, grandfather and grandmother are being illegally detained for practising Falun Gong. Her two uncles and one aunt died from the persecution. Two years ago, the Changping County 610 Office put Li Ying into a nursing home. For the last two years she has been the only child living there. Moreover, while she is in the nursing home she has no personal freedom.
  • Wuchang "610 Office" Extorted Several Hundred Thousand Yuan from 100 Arrested Falun Dafa Practitioners

    Wuchang's "610 Office" personnel used various methods to detain more practitioners to reach their goal of extorting money. The officials' average monthly salary is about 1,000 Yuan, however, they would receive a monetary reward if they could make a practitioner give up his/her belief, and they took advantage of it. If a practitioner is sent to the 610 Office for brainwashing, his workplace has to pay 2,000 Yuan per month for the practitioner's stay there. In order to obtain the highest profit, they would keep them there for a longer time so that they could extort more money.
  • Understanding the Persecution Through the "Educational System Reform" in Harbin City

    The reform of the education system in Harbin City began last year. All teachers, permanent or temporary, with achievements or not, as long as they clearly made a declaration to keep in line with the political ideology of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, could then sign the contract prepared by the school authorities. The contract would then be legally notarised and guarantee that one would not be laid off for three years. The majority of people did not even read the contract before signing it, including some Falun Dafa practitioners who were teachers.
  • The Persecution of Ms. Zhao Fengxian and Her Family

    On November 19, 2004, about a dozen people barged into the home of Ms Zhao Fengxian, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Hebei Province. Police officers took away 2 computers, 3 mobile phones, as well as 3,600 yuan in cash. They handcuffed Ms. Zhao and her daughter, her younger son and his fiancee and forced them into a van, not giving them time to put on something proper. The police also imposed a fine of 10,000 yuan on her son's workplace for having employed someone that was involved with Falun Gong.
  • Jilin Prison's Condition for Medical Parole: One Has to Be within Days of Death before Returning Home

    Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Changde was not able to take care of himself after extensive torture and abuse at the Jilin No. 2 Prison. His weight dropped from 200 pounds to around 140 pounds. His family had asked the prison officials to release him on a medical parole. Zhang Yong, a prison officer, said, "There are only two ways to obtain a medical parole. One is that you have a lot of money. We can do it even if there is no illness. The other is that the prisoner has only a few days to live. These are the prerequisites for a medical parole."

    On the evening of December 27, 2004, agents of the 610 Office in Xiamen City, Fujian Province and local police officers arrested several dozen Falun Dafa practitioners.
