• Dafa Practitioner's Husband Dies From Shock and Grief After Repeated Arrests of His Wife

  "On August 31, 2001 I was sent to the Shibalihe Female Forced Labour Camp in Zhengzhou City, where I was tortured, beaten, force-fed, cuffed, and hung up by my handcuffed wrists. I left the labour camp alive on January 11, 2004. After five years of torture and abuse from the persecution, I was left with permanently swollen legs and my feet numb and sore. For four years, since the year 2000, my left shinbone has suffered from a fracture that was not treated properly. At present, I am disabled and cannot work. My husband passed away three years ago, from the constant fear and pressure. During the past few years, our only daughter has been forced to struggle to live on her own, with very little money."

• Description of the Torture of Practitioners in Xinhua Labour Camp, Sichuan Province (Photos)

  Illustration 1. This happened inside the Xinhua Labour Camp in Sichuan Province. This torture method is called "tying the ropes." It is often used by the guards there. They strip practitioners of their' upper body clothing. Then they take a rope the circumference of a small finger and tie the rope tightly around the practitioner's arms, making the rope cut into the skin. They put the practitioners' arms behind their backs and raise their hands. This causes extreme, unbearable pain. According to the official camp "rules," such torture cannot be used beyond 15 minutes, otherwise both arms will be disabled.

I know that I am supposed to be with you to carry out my filial responsibilities, but I am unable to do that right now. I know you miss me dearly and are afraid that I will suffer in the labour camp. Mum, I want to tell you, if I didn't practise Dafa, the pain and hardship that I've suffered in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp would have been more than enough to kill me."

• Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhang Hong From Harbin City Dies as a Result of Torture at the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp (Photos)

  Ms. Zhang Hong was 31 years old and had lived in Harbin City. On July 22, 2004 she was sent to the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. While at the camp, Ms. Zhang Hong refused to cooperate with the evildoers in any way and refused to write the "Three Statements," which are specific documents denouncing Falun Gong and went on hunger strike. Inmates force-fed her and on July 31, four male guards carried Zhang Hong away on a stretcher and disinfected the whole room afterwards. Section head Zhao later said, "Ms. Zhang Hong has died from kidney failure as a result of heart disease." The truth is she died from barbaric torture.

• Tianjin City Women's Forced Labour Camp Exports Products Made by Slave Labour

  Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999, Tianjin City Women's Forced Labour Camp has detained many Dafa practitioners. The camp has contracts with some bean vendors. Under the contracts, the camp is responsible for putting beans into individual bags weighing from 110 lbs. to 180 1bs. For each bag of beans, the camp earns 0.8 Yuan. Practitioners are forced to put beans in bags and carry them to a designated place. The working conditions are very poor.

• Jiang Xiaoying Suffers Mental Breakdown Following Relentless Torture at Forced Labour Camp in Jiangxi Province

  Practitioner Jiang Xiaoying from Jiujiang city, Jiangxi province is around fifty years old. She was a doctor in the Jiujiang Mental Hospital. Due to long-term torture at Majialong Forced Labour Camp, she suffered a mental breakdown. In 2002, soon after she managed to escape from a Detention Centre, she was arrested again and sent to the Majialong Forced Labour Camp. When she was carried into the labour camp, she was unconscious. She could not recall what she had experienced, as she had been unconscious. It is suspected that the loss of memory resulted from severe beating.

• How the Moganshan Female Forced Labour Camp in Zhejiang Province Cruelly Persecutes Falun Dafa Practitioners

  Ms. Zhuo Ainu lives in Jinyun, Zhejiang Province and is about 48 years old. The first time she was detained, she was sentenced to one year of forced labour. The second time, she was sentenced to three years of forced labour. Because she is steadfast in Falun Dafa, she was tortured three times during her incarceration. The first time was during a very hot summer. She was placed in a cell and the perpetrators closed the door and windows and used thick black cloth to cover the windows. They turned on a hot 200-watt lamp in the cell and didn't allow Ms. Zhuo Ainu access to any water.

  While former Chinese president Jiang Zemin was still in office, he abused his power and huge proportion of China's national resources to build private prisons to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. These prisons were usually set up secretly. Now, almost every county and city in the nation has such prisons. The "610 Office" is directly in charge of these prisons, whereas judicial and legal departments often administer regular prisons. Such private prisons are often mislabeled as "Legal System Education Classes" to deceive the public.

• The Persecution of Practitioners in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province

  On August 8, Ms Wang Wenjuan was brought to the first floor and handcuffed to a heating pipe. She was handcuffed there day and night for an entire month until finally a guard handcuffed her to the bedside. From then on she was able to rest on the bed, but remained handcuffed, sometimes with one hand, sometimes both. One day, Team Leader Zhang Yan was annoyed seeing her sitting on a chair and said maliciously, "It is too easy for you to sit. Get up. Don't sit there. Stand up and stay standing until this evening."

  Wang Xia, a young lady from Linhe City, Inner Mongolia. Wang, 30-years old, was sentenced to 7 years in labour camp for telling people about Falun Gong. In the past two years, she conducted hunger strikes to protest persecution and was force-fed. The prison authorities also injected her with unknown drugs. Before she was detained, she weighed more than 120 pounds. She now only weighs about 45 pounds and lapses in and out of consciousness.

• Guards in Baoding City Forced Labour Camp Forcibly Feed Excrement and Urine to Falun Gong Practitioners on Hunger Strike

  In the Baoding City Forced Labour Camp, the guards have been severely persecuting Falun Gong practitioners who are firm in cultivation. To protest such inhumane torture, detained Dafa practitioners went on a hunger strike. The guards then adopted even more vicious torture methods: force feeding with the feeding tube extending to the stomach, force feeding human excrement and urine, force feeding concentrated salt solution.

  "That day all of us were tortured for an entire day and most of us suffered from the cruel torture of tying the ropes and were also shocked with electric batons. • Account of the Torture Yang Hong and Her Fellow Practitioners Have Suffered in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

  Wang Zhimeng and three other policemen waited the whole night and abducted Dafa practitioner Yang Hong from Liaoning Province as she was walking down the stairs from her home at 4:00 a.m. on April 2, 2004. The policemen also abducted her 24-year-old daughter and stole their possessions valued at about 26,000 Yuan. They sent Yang Hong to a detention centre that same day. In protest, Yang Hong held a hunger strike for six days before she was sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp.
