Crimes Committed in the Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp

The Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province is one of many sites that have been used to barbarically torture practitioners, both mentally and physically. They have used lies and other despicable means to force the practitioners to renounce Falun Gong. Many practitioners were injured or crippled, suffered mental breakdown, or even died as a result of the brutal persecution there over the last nine years. Mr. Liu Cheng suffered from the corporal punishment; in addition to the beatings, he was forced to sit on a small stool for a long period of time. Sometimes the guards would hang him up and others forced him to stand still in many different postures. -
Crimes Committed in Jilin Province Prior to the Olympic Games
2008-10-11In Songyuan City, practitioner Ms. Liu Shumei was recently sentenced to an additional one-and-a-half years of forced labour--immediately after she finished serving a two-year prison term. In Yanji City, Ms. Zhang Shuxian was taken to a forced labour camp on July 21st, 2008, and put in solitary confinement. To protest her imprisonment, Ms. Zhang went on a hunger strike. Three days later, female guards Liu Shuxia and Liu Lianying tied her up to a torture device called the death bed and force-fed her. -
Police Arrest and Persecute 17 Falun Gong Practitioners in Laixi City
2008-10-10On July 31st, 2008, the police in Laixi City, Shandong Province, arrested 17 Falun Gong practitioners. They were having a study and discussion session at a practitioner's home. Laixi 610 Office Chief Wang Jianzhi rented the third floor of the Qingdao Defence Education Centre to set up a brainwashing centre, where six practitioners will be imprisoned. This is the Laixi 610 Office private jail, set up in attempt to persecute and force practitioners to give up their belief. In order to maintain this location, the 610 Office extorted from each practitioner's family members 3,000 yuan and forced them to write guarantee statements to renounce Falun Gong before they would release the practitioners. -
Mr. Yan Zhijun and Several Other Practitioners from Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province, Arrested and Money Extorted from Them
2008-10-10Personnel from the Tonghe County 610 Office and Police Department arrested and persecuted several Falun Gong practitioners right before the Olympics. While the practitioners were held in the detention centre, they were mentally and physically tortured. On July 29th, 2008, police broke into practitioner Mr. Yan Zhijun's home. The police made a big mess of the house and Mr. Yan Zhijun was seriously beaten. Furthermore, they tried to force him to reveal information about other practitioners. When he refused, they tied a plastic bag over his head three times and beat him cruelly. -
Practitioners from Huaying City, Guang'an, Sichuan Province, Are Persecuted
2008-10-10On February 10th, 2004, Yuechi County officials arrested Ms. Zhou Dingying. The police interrogated her using torture and forced a false confession from her. After being beaten, she was imprisoned in Yuechi Lockup. They also wanted to arrest her husband, Mr. Qu, so he was compelled to be destitute and homeless. Ms. Zhou was sentenced to forced labour for two years and taken to Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp in the Zizhong County, Sichuan Province. She was tortured inhumanly for two years. -
Baoji Sanitation Schoolteacher in Shanxi Province Arrested Again by 610 Office Personnel
2008-10-10Because Ms. Wang Guaiyan firmly practised Falun Gong, on July 21st, 2008, she was arrested by Chinese Communist Party personnel from the school and from the Baiji Municipal 610 Office. Now she is imprisoned in the Fenghuo Hotel. Since July 20th, 1999, Ms. Wang has been arrested and imprisoned many times. In 2001, she was arrested by local 610 Office personnel, sent to Shanxi Provincial Women's Forced Labour Camp for three years, and tortured. She has been held in Baoji Municipal Lockup and other places three times. -
My Father and My Brother Were Killed in the Persecution

In 1999, Falun Gong practitioner Yu Zhenyi was arrested and sentenced to four years in jail. At that time he had already been tortured. In 2002, his family took him from Wanjia Forced Labour Camp to hospital. An examination showed that he had been violently hit in the head and was suffering from severe internal injuries. He died on May 14th, 2002. His father, Yu Guanyun, was arrested during July 2002 and was sentenced to three years of forced labour. He died on January 11th, 2003, as a result of the torture he endured in Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp. -
Mr. Li Qiguo's Life in Danger from Torture in Wuxue City Detention Centre
2008-10-09After the persecution began in 1999, Mr. Li Qiguo used his personal story to tell people the truth about Jiang Zemin [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] and exposed the lies of his regime. He was brutally beaten, and his family had money extorted from them. Around 2003 to 2004, he had to flee his home to avoid being arrested. On July 25th, 2008, the Wuxue City Police in Zhejiang Province, deceived him into leaving his small shop to go to the Anxin Apartments Police Station in Wenzhou City, where they arrested him, took him back to Hubei Province, and detained him in the Wuxue City First Detention Centre. His life is now in danger due to cruel mistreatment, and police had to take him to the hospital for emergency rescue. -
Crimes Committed by Communist Party Officers in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province
2008-10-09On December 9th, 2006, I went to a hospital to see a Falun Gong practitioner who was at the point of death due to persecution by Chinese Communist Party officials. A doctor from the detention centre did not allow me to visit the practitioner and called the police. I was arrested. I was arrested only because I went to a hospital to visit a Falun Gong practitioner that had been tortured and because of my faith in acting as a good person. I was sentenced to one year of forced labour and had money and property taken from me. We are practitioners that cultivate according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but we are brutally persecuted. -
Zhang Yuexian of the Li County 610 Office Arrested Practitioners and Extorted Money from Them, Their Families, and Their Employers
2008-10-09On March 26th, 2008, Zhang Yuexian and over 50 policemen arrested six practitioners who were studying a Falun Gong book together, including three seniors in their 60s or 70s. He extorted over 20,000 yuan from their families. The police found a small bag with a pay card inside during the arrests. Zhang Yuexian threatened family members and extorted 5,000 yuan from them. He designated people to go to the home of one practitioner to try to force her to write a guarantee statement to denounce Falun Gong. Zhang Yuexian never gave a receipt when he extorted money. It is said that Zhang Yuexian once had to pay a lot of money to buy a director's position in the 610 Office and now he wants to take the money back from practitioners. -
Mr. Zeng Zhaokuan's Entire Family Persecuted in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for Many Years
2008-10-08Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Zeng Zhaokuan and his family experienced extortion, detention and labour camp imprisonment. In March 2002, the local police went to Mr. Zeng's home and coerced him, his second daughter, son-in-law, third daughter and fifth daughter into going into the city for a meeting. However, the police took them to the Songshan District Detention Centre. The next day, they were taken to the Wuyuan City Forced Labour Camp and the Huhhot City Women's Forced Labour Camp. The oldest daughter was sentenced to three years of forced labour, and the rest were sentenced to one year. Six people in the family were put into labour camps. Only Mr. Zeng's wife and the three-year-old child of the second daughter were left at home. -
Additional Information Regarding Ms. Wang Yanfeng's Death in Guangshui City Detention Centre; Fellow Practitioner Ms. Sheng Cuilian in Critical Condition in Detention, Family Visits Denied
2008-10-08Ms. Wang Yanfeng and Ms. Sheng Cuilian were arrested and detained in April for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Then in September they were arrested again. Guangshui City Domestic Security agent Fang Hong brutally beat Ms. Wang during the arrest process. The two women were detained in the Guangshui City Detention Centre, where they again held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. They were cruelly beaten repeatedly each time they refused to eat. They both became extremely weak, and Ms. Wang Yanfeng died on September 24th, 2008. The Guangshui City Detention Centre notified Ms. Sheng Cuilian's family of her weak condition but would not allow them to visit her. -
Wuhou District Court in Chengdu City Holds Trial of Nine Falun Gong Practitioners and Two of Their Relatives
2008-10-08On September 27th, 2008, Wuhou District Court in Chengdu City convened a session against nine practitioners. The initial notice to lawyers indicated a public session. However, the court did not allow any of the practitioners' relatives to attend the hearing. The excuse was that they did not have hearing certificates, but the court did not issue hearing certificates in advance at all, and in any case did not notify the relatives. Between August and September 2007, more than 30 Chengdu practitioners were arrested from their homes and offices. Almost all of them were brutally tortured. On March 13th, 2008, Ms. Zhou Huimin was tortured to death at the Qingyang District People's Hospital, which is the hospital used by the Chengdu City Detention Centre. -
The Persecution of Mr. Zhang Yumin's Family in Guangdong Province
2008-10-08In 2000 Mr. Zhang Yumin and his wife were both detained and persecuted for practising Falun Gong. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to three years in the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp. As a result, his family business was shut down and sold way below market value. Not only was Mr. Zhang forced to do hard labour at the camp, he was also subjected to around-the-clock compulsory brainwashing, causing him to become seriously ill. After his release was finding it increasingly difficult to take care of himself and his wife had also been imprisoned. Due to the mental and physical stress Mr. Zhang was under, his condition rapidly deteriorated and he died on February 5th, 2007, leaving his wife to care for the three children he left behind. -
Please Help Me Rescue My Daughter, Who is Near Death from Persecution
2008-10-07More than ten agents from the Weifang City "610 Office" and Police Department in Shandong Province arrested my daughter Kong Qian on July 9th, 2008. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) treated my daughter as a "key target" and interrogated her under cruel torture. The police tied her to a metal cross made with steel bars and tubing for seven days. Her hands were stretched and tied tightly with leather straps; her feet were cuffed together; her whole body was placed on two 1.5 cm-diameter steel bars, with 10 cm in between. She could only move her head a bit. Her arms, legs and back and her whole body were in extreme pain. She hovered between life and death in unimaginable agony.
