  • Ms. Chen Xue Persecuted by Officials at the College of Information Science and Engineering, Central South University

    Ms. Chen Xue, a Falun Gong practitioner, was a faculty member of Fujian University of Technology and was also studying for an on-the-job master's degree at Central South University in Changsha City, Hunan Province. She is presently preparing to orally defend her master's thesis. In early September, Fujian University of Technology faxed a "punishment decision document" regarding Ms. Chen Xue to the College of Information Science and Engineering at Central South University. In late September Ms. Chen received a formal notice from Central South University, informing her that they would not accept her degree application for the oral defence segment. In November 2006, Ms. Chen Xue told her students during breaktime about the tide of millions of people quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). For this, someone reported her, and she was transferred from her teaching position to administrative work.
  • Practitioners Ms. Tan Xiuying and Ms. Zhang Haiqin from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province Fell Victim to Trickery and Were Arrested by Communist Regime Spies

    According to insiders, when Ms. Tan Xiuying went out to to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, a man in his forties approached her and began to communicate with her. He tricked her into believing he was interested in learn about Falun Gong and the persecution and arranged to meet her at a later time. On August 17th, 2007, Ms. Tan and another practitioner Ms. Zhang Haiqin were arrested. They are now being held in the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labour Camp. Ms. Tan Xiuying was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour. The length of Ms. Zhang Haiqin's forced labour term is unknown.
  • Police Swindle More Than 50,000 Yuan from Practitioner Hao Yijing's Husband

    On May 14th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hao Yijing went to visit her parents-in-law with her husband. During this period, because she read Falun Gong books, did the exercises, and tried to dispel communist party propaganda about Falun Gong to her family members, she was reported to police by her father-in-law. She was promptly arrested by the police from the local station. At the Yucai Road Police Station she was tortured in order to gain a confession. Her house was then ransacked and she was extorted out of 6,018 Yuan. In order to encourage her family to pay the fee, the police released Ms. Hao. Later, on May 30th, Ms. Hao was again arrested and detained at the Xifeng District Detention Centre. She was again mercilessly tortured. Police continued to extort money from Ms. Hao's family - a total of 55,618 Yuan (3,600 pounds sterling).
  • 610 Officer Beats Up Mr. Lin Tong, 76, in Guangdong Province

    Both Mr. Lin Tong, 76, and his wife, Ms. Li Lanying, are in poor health. They depended entirely on their daughter, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Lin Yanmei, who financially supported her family. In 2004, police arrested Ms. Lin and took her to the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp. On September 13th, 2007, Mr. Lin went to the Dianbai County 610 Office and asked Director Xiao Xiong to sign an application for families with financial difficulties. This request angered Xiao, who stormed out of the office. Later another official beat up Mr. Lin and knocked him to the floor. Fortunately, another staff member arrived in time to stop the violence before it got any worse.
  • Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhu Fuju Disabled from Torture at Heilongjiang Women's Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms Zhu Fuju was sent to labour camps twice, and sentenced to three years of imprisonment once. Ms Zhu is currently detained at the 9th Division of Heilongjiang Women's Prison located at Harbin. In order to forcefully "transform" her, personnel from the prison put her on the "Big Hang Up" to torture her (with both of her hands cuffed on a double decker bed and only her toes touching the ground), while criminal inmates were ordered to monitor her. She was locked in a room so no one could see her. It is reported that both of Ms Zhu's hands have become disabled, but she is still being hung up.
  • Report on the Maltreatment of Over Thirty Falun Gong Practitioners Who Were Arrested in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province

    On August 1st, 2007, more than 40 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested. Practitioner Hu Yanrong was tortured to death. Currently, there are more than 30 practitioners still imprisoned. At the Second Detention Centre, practitioners suffered physical and verbal abuse of different kinds. The police used deceitful ways to extort money from the practitioners by promising that they would be released after 15 days. The guards said that if a practitioner would "confess everything," and as long as they promised that they would practise Falun Gong only at home, and not visit other practitioners, and tell the guards all they knew, they would be released the next day. Some practitioners confessed whom they knew, and how they knew each other, etc. This resulted in some imprisoned practitioners suffering further persecution.

    My dad is Han Naijun, I am my parents only son. I had a happy family, and did very well in my studies. I was a model student and won a scholarship. However, when the police broke into our house, my heart was broken and so was my family. After they took away my dad, they arrested my mum as well. But when my mum was released, my dad did not come back. When I saw the arrest approval notice, I was unable to remain calm. My dad is still detained in Hexi Detention centre. He has not eaten anything for a dozen days, and his life is in danger. I worry about my dad's health very much, because the police would definitely pressure him to renounce his belief and prohibit him from exercising Falun Gong.
  • Senior Engineer Mr. Song Aichang Arrested by Vicious Policemen of the Shijiazhuang Police Station

    On June 22nd, 2007, Mr. Song Aichang was arrested by police and was interrogated at the Keyuan local police station. They threatened, intimidated and physically abused him during the interrogations. Presently, Mr. Song's wife suffers from grief and anxiety due to her husband's maltreatment. His father, who is over 70 years old, had suffered a stroke before and is bedridden.
  • Practitioner Cao Aihua was Tortured to Death Almost a Year Ago--Her Family Is Still Appealing for Justice

    In 20 more days, it will be a year since practitioner Ms. Cao Aihua was tortured to death for practising Falun Dafa. While Ms. Cao's son has kept a vigil for his mother in the funeral home for the past year, her relatives have been continuously trying to appeal for the justice she deserves. Ms. Cao Aihua was sent to the forced labour camp on November 1st, 2006. On November 14th she passed away in hospital. When Ms. Cao's husband was carefully washing her lifeless body, he noticed many dark bruises around her waist that were caused by her being punched. There was also a small-sized pinhole on the side of her lower abdomen that leaked out bloody water.
  • Practitioners Endure Mental Torture and Gruelling Labour in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison, Hebei Province

    At present, the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison has detained about 200 practitioners who are dispersed into each small squad. In the prison, incidents happen fast and cruelly. One's life hangs by a thread; a bit of carelessness is followed by abuse, and there is a tremendous pressure. The practitioners are also required to perform physically demanding work. The prison guards instigate convicts to monitor the practitioners' daily activities including during their conversations, meals, working hours and other activities. Thus, practitioners have to endure many inhuman treatments. They are forced to work long hours until 11p.m. to midnight before they can go to bed. There is a certain amount of work that each must complete; otherwise they are punished. Punishment follows if the work quality is not as good, if one is found talking while working or greeting each other.
  • Police Put Ms. Liang Yening and Her Paralysed Mother Under House Arrest in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province

    On the morning of September 19th, 2007, the police stopped Ms. Liang and her child at a restaurant and demanded that she go to the Yuhua Public Safety Bureau. However, Ms. Liang asked to take breakfast home for her paralysed mother and when she got home, she locked the front door. The police mobilised about eight people and stationed them in front of Ms. Liang's house. They banged on the door and shouted at Ms. Liang and her family. Her ten-year-old son was scared and wouldn't stop crying so Ms. Liang's father sneaked the child away and left him with a relative. When Ms. Liang's father got home, the police refused to let him enter the house. Ms. Liang's mother has been paralysed in bed because of a stroke for many years and the friends and relatives of Ms. Liang worry whether her mother can take the shock. Her father told the police that what they were doing would cost someone's life.
  • Facts about the Persecution of Guo Yunqin and His Family in Jilin City

    Mr. Guo Yunqin, his wife, Du Hongfang, and their son have suffered from a myriad of tribulations in the past eight years since the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999. Mr. Guo Yunqin and Du Hongfang, were repeatedly detained and sent to a forced labour camp where they suffered from many types of cruel torture. While they were detained, their 12-year-old son, Guo Fengqing, was left without anyone to take care of him. He lived like a vagabond and was no longer allowed to attend school. Facing constant bullying and humiliation in the community, the boy has been severely traumatised. On July 10th, 2007, Mr. Guo Yunqin was again sentenced to 14 years in prison. His family of three was torn apart again.
  • Ms. Liu Jianhua of Hunan Province and Ms. Zhao Yazhen of Heilongjiang Province Died As a Result of Relentless Persecution and Torture

    When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Liu Jianhua went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of the practice. She was repeatedly arrested and detained over the years. In November 2004, a police officer arrested Ms. Liu while she was on her way to deliver leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He dragged her by the hair for half a mile. Then he smashed her head against a car door until she lost consciousness because she refused to get in the police car. She was immediately sentenced to two years of hard labour without even notifying her family. After being subjected to physical and mental persecution for many years, Ms. Liu developed high blood pressure and had problems with her heart, lungs and pancreas after being released from the labour camp. She died on September 3rd, 2007.
  • Additional Information Regarding Practitioner Mr. Qiao Zenyi's Death While in Police Custody in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

    In June 2006, 58-year-old, Mr. Qiao Zenyi was arrested because he often explained the truth of the persecution to people. He was sentenced to 1-1/2 years of forced labour. The guards did not let him eat, use the toilet or sleep. They made him stay outside in the cold winter. He developed tuberculosis. Mr. Qiao died on September 12th, 2007, two months after he left the forced labour camp.
  • Persecution Faced by Two Teachers in their Sixties in Tonghua City, Jilin Province

    Ms. Hu Song, about sixty years old, was the Vice Principal of Yanjiang Elementary School in Tonghua City, Jilin Province. After 1994 she learned Falun Dafa, completely recovered her health, and gained recognition for her outstanding work at school. Since 1999, when the persecution started, Ms. Hu was forced to attend a brainwashing session to renounce Falun Gong. Around 2005, Hu's house was seized by Erdaojiang Public Security Branch Bureau, and she is now detained in Changchun Forced Labour Camp.
