• Ms. Li Guiping Severely Tortured at Beijing Women's Prison

  Before Chinese New Year's Day in February 2007, Ms. Li Guiping, a Falun Gong practitioner, shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good!" during a large assembly for the entire Beijing Women's Prison. Afterwards, she was detained in the "Intensive Training Centre" for more severe persecution. For more than four months, Ms. Li has been denied any legal rights to see, write and call her family. Li Guiping went on a hunger strike to protest the detention and persecution by the Beijing Women's Prison. In turn, the prison recently spread rumours and threatened her family members; one of the rumours claimed that Li Guiping had attempted suicide.

• Two Practitioners from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province Reveal the Tortures They Have Suffered

  Mr. Zhou Mintong, his wife Ms. Zeng Jie, and his mother-in-law are all Falun Gong practitioners. After the persecution started, they went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong many times. Their home has been searched and they have been sentenced to forced labour and detained in a brainwashing centre many times. During detention, Mr. Zhou was tortured repeatedly with electric shocks while his family members were followed and monitored. Recently, Mr. Zhou and Ms. Zeng escaped from China. They are now exposing the details of the tortures they were subjected to over the years.

• More Details on the Multiple Arrests of Falun Dafa Practitioners by Public Security Departments and Others of Benxi City, Liaoning Province

  At 12:30 a.m. on April 12th, 2007, Public Security, National Security, the Criminal Police Brigade, and police stations of Benxi City arrested many Falun Dafa practitioners, including Mr. Lu Qingjiang and his wife, Mr. Cheng Wei, and Ms. Wang Lijuan and her son. In order to take care his mother who'd been bedridden due to illness for some time, practitioner Cheng Wei moved into her home. At midnight on April 12th, the police used an axe to knock down the door of his mother's home in order to catch Mr. Cheng. He tried to escape by jumping from the fifth floor of the apartment building, resulting in severe injury. Mr. Cheng is currently hospitalised under police surveillance at the Benxi Steel Company's General Hospital.

• Ms. Wang Jixiu from Mengyin County, Shandong Province Tortured Over the Past Eight Years

  Ms. Wang Jixiu, a teacher, has suffered both mental and physical torture in the past eight years because she practises Falun Gong. When Ms. Wang was first sent to the 610 Office in Mengyin County, the head, Lei Yancheng, ordered guards to handcuff her hands below the knee, forcing her legs bent. She could not stand upright nor sit down. Her head was facing the floor with her back bent. The guards constantly yelled at her and beat her in this position. Fang Simin from the county 610 Office and other persecutors ordered the guards to prevent her from sleeping and going to the toilet. She was forced to stand for over ten hours each day. After a few days, Ms. Wang Jixiu had diarrhoea as a result of the torture. She was not allowed to use the toilet despite her pleas.

• Brutal Torture Suffered by Ke Xingguo and Other Practitioners at the Beijiao No. 4 Prison in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province

  In order to cover up the torture, guards locked me in a solitary cell, using the excuse that "Ke Xingguo does not participate in doing any labour." In March and October of 2003, they applied physical and mental torture on me on the second floor of the reception building. I was restrained for eight or nine days and was not allowed to sleep. They used a rope and lifted either my arms or one of my legs in the air. They also used a special torture device: an iron ring welded to an iron plate. Using a very short rope, they tied me on one side to handcuffs and the other side to the iron ring. I could not sit up or lie down. For the flimsiest excuse they would beat me. This torture was continued for weeks. My legs became numb during this period.

• Practitioner Mr. Chen Minhui from Dalian City, Liaoning Province Secretly Held at the Liaoyang City Detention Centre for Four Months

  On February 7th, 2007 the Dalian City National Security Bureau and Dalian City National Security Team arrested Chen Minhui in Shihe Town. Nobody knew where he was after that. The Liaoyang City Police Department has already detained Chen Minhui for more than four months. The police have been constantly striving to induce or extort a confession from him and are attempting to link him with TV broadcasting exposing the persecution in order to charge him. Mr. Chen's family went to the Liaoyang City Detention Centre to bring him clothes, but the police refused to allow it.

• Ms. Wang Yaqing from Miyun County, Beijing, Dies at Home after Being Injected with Unknown Drugs in a Forced Labour Camp Hospital

  On August 15th, 2006, seven or eight policemen from the Binhe Police Station and the National Protection Team in Miyun County came to her hair salon and lifted Ms. Wang Yaqing up and threw her into a police car and drove away. She was first detained in the detention centre and then she was sent to the hospital within the forced labour camp. The doctor withdrew one syringe of fluid from her lower back and injected some unknown drugs. After the injection she felt dizzy and drowsy. She lived in pain for seven months before she passed away on May 27th, 2007.

• Older Ms. Li Yulan from Jilin Province Dies after Twice Being Detained in Forced Labour Camps

  60-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Yulan had been detained in a forced labour camps twice. During the detainments she was severely tortured both mentally and physically. Upon release, police officers often went to her home to harass her family. She was forced to leave home and go from place to place to avoid further persecution. She passed away on June 18th, 2007.

• An Account of the Persecution Suffered by Mr. Qin Weidian and His Wife, Li Meixin, from Shandong Province and His Family During the Past Eight Years

  Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, however, Qin Weidian and his wife, Li Meixin, have suffered numerous inhumane tortures for their belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." When in detention in the town government building, guards poured four to five buckets of water into the cell before throwing ice blocks in as well. The detained practitioners could only sit in the ice-cold water with their clothing all wet. Then, the perpetrators brought out the practitioners one after another for beatings. In the dark corners of the garage about twenty government workers held the practitioners down on the floor and brutally beat them with wooden clubs and police batons. Guards beat Ms. Li Meixin in this way for more than twenty minutes. Ms. Li's entire body turned black and was totally unrecognisable.

  Our father taught us how to become good people by his verbal instructions and his exemplary conduct. He always strictly required us to be kind to others, to be polite, to do more good deeds, and to refrain from doing bad deeds. Especially after our father started to practice Falun Gong he taught us to conduct ourselves according to Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. When our father not only recovered from his illness but opened an electronics repair shop to serve our neighbourhood, we were all very happy. All our fellow villagers liked his service, and our family started to have a steady income. In the past few days that our father has been detained, many people have come to request repair services. We cannot help crying when they come to ask for help, only to realise that our father, who presided over the repair shop, is not there. We miss our father dearly.

• Mr. Ma Zhonghe's Body Thrown Outside Detention Centre (Xinjiang Autonomous Region)

  Because Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Ma Zhonghe went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, he was detained from 2000 to October 2001, in the Changji Forced Labour Camp located in Wujiaqu City. He died of torture while detained in the Kuerle City Detention Centre some time between 2003 and 2005. His body was thrown outside the detention centre's gate, and no one claimed it.

• Mr. Liu Liang from Shandong Province Dies--Possibly Murdered by the Police

  On June 5th, 2007, six policemen broke into 24-year-old Mr. Liu Liang's home. They raided the house without showing any documents. Mr. Liu was not at home at the time. On June 6th police continued to watch Mr. Liu's home. On July 7th, a villager discovered the body of Liu Liang in a well and his motorbike nearby. He reported it to the police and three police cars showed up. Many villagers surrounded the scene. The local 610 Office head, Wang Ronghai, went to Mr. Liu's home afterwards. They were trying to cover up their crimes and claimed that Mr. Liu committed suicide because of practising Falun Gong. They knew that they were the criminals and they tried to force Mr. Liu's family to not pursue the case. They told Mr. Liu's family members to come to Zhangying Town Police Station on June 13th to discuss compensation for Mr. Liu's death.

• Three Falun Dafa Practitioners from Liaoning and Shanxi Provinces Persecuted to Death

  In 1999, 52-year-old Mr. Zhao Xingquan went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested and sent to a detention centre for forced "transformation" and brainwashing. He was only released after having 2,000 yuan of so-called "earnest money" extorted from him. In 2000 he was reported for practising Falun Gong, detained again and released after police extorted 1,700 yuan from Zhao's family. Because of the long term mental and physical torture, Zhao Xingquan's physical condition deteriorated, and he passed away on May 28th, 2006.

• Practitioner Qu Guangyi Subjected to Brutal Torture in Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp in Jiutai, Jilin Province

  Practitioner Mr. Qu Guangyi was arrested by local police officers during the autumn of 2006. They sent him to Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp, where he was subjected to brainwashing tactics. While in the camp, he was brutally tortured. The guards hung him up, deprived him of sleep, and burned his skin. As a result, he was in very poor condition both physically and mentally. In May 2007, Mr. Qu was sent to a forced labour factory where he had to work long hours. The food provided there was worse than what they fed animals. He suffered mentally and was diagnosed with nephritis (inflammation of the kidney). Guards from the labour camp forced Mr. Qu to continue working after giving him very poor medical treatment.

• "Drill Practice" Was Used to Persecute Dafa Practitioners in Harbin City Women's Jail

  Practitioners were dragged outside by guards and forced to squat in the freezing cold every morning from 5:30 to 6 a.m. After breakfast every practitioner was dragged to the top floor of the main jail. There they were subjected to many torture methods for extended periods of time. Practitioners were handcuffed to a steel column and shocked with electric batons set to maximum voltage. Tao Shuping cuffed and kicked Lu Yingchun. They commanded prisoner Wang Yubo to shave the practitioners' hair in what they called the "ghost hair style."
