  • Ms. Li Jifeng Given Eight Year Sentence and Tortured at Yongchuan Prison in Chongqing City

    On May 28th, 2003, police from the Beipei District Police Department arrested Ms. Li Jifeng and took away her Dafa books and other leaflets exposing the persecution. They also confiscated about 7,000 yuan cash from her home and other personal property, including a computer. To date, the police department has not returned these items. The police sent Li Jifeng to the brainwashing class in the Beipei Party School. Li Jifeng refused to tell them any information about the leaflets production site and other fellow practitioners. She did not cooperate at all, so the police from the Beipei District Police Department hung her up and beat her for a long time. She was brutally tortured in both body and mind. In February 2004, she was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment.
  • Ms. Chen Xiumei Brutally Tortured at Baoding Labour Camp in Hebei Province

    Practitioner Ms. Chen Xiumei, 53 years old, was arrested on March 7th, 2007, and taken to Baoding Labour Camp on March 8th, 2007, to be held for one year. She was handcuffed for one day on March 9th for doing the Falun Gong exercises. Later on she was handcuffed again for a long time because she refused to wear a prisoner's uniform and refused to be photographed as a criminal. Her wrists bled and ulcerated from long-term chaffing from the cuffs. Inmates Zhang Xinyi and Zang Wantong savagely beat her under instruction from the guards. The guards also used various methods and tortures on her while she was isolated from others.
  • Disabled Practitioner's Compensation Claim Ignored in Zhejiang Province

    Falun Dafa practitioner Fan Zhongzhuang has suffered severe persecution on two occasions. He was arrested and sentenced to four years of forced labour. Then on August 9th, 2005, he was arrested again and his home was ransacked. This time, he ended up totally disabled from torture. Advocate Fan Ziliang, who is appealing for justice on behalf of Fan Zhongzhuang, submitted a letter warning County Security Captain Li Jinliang and his accomplice police officers that they would have to pay for their crimes.
  • Ms. Shi Tongwen, 67, Has Died as a Result of Torture by Police in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province

    Since 1999, Ms. Shi Tongwen and her family members have suffered brutal persecution. All of her family members, except her four-year-old grandson, were sent to a brainwashing centre. During their detention there, Shi Tongwen was on the verge of death due to the persecution. Later, she was paralyzed from torture and could not take care of herself. At 10 a.m. on May 6th, 2007, she died at the age of 67.
  • Communist Party Orchestrates "Touching" Scene at Beijing Women's Prison for BTV Broadcast

    On May 10th, 2007, the reception lobby of the Beijing Women's Prison was cleaned until spotless and beautifully decorated with many fresh flowers. Several dozen inmates, four selected from each ward, met their family members there, each presenting a bouquet of carnations to their mothers, who had come for a visit. "The hall was filled with harmony and human emotion," which the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had propagated. The Beijing TV Station (BTV) news crews filmed this "touching" scene. However, this meticulously planned "touching" scene was nothing but a political ploy dictated to the prison officials from above. It was another deceptive trick, cooked up by BTV to lead people to believe the "humanitarian civilized management of prisons" by the CCP.
  • Shuangcheng City in Heilongjiang Province Policeman Zhang Guofu Persecuted His Brother, Sister-in-law and Niece

    In April 2002, Zhu Qingwen, Secretary of Shuangcheng City, ordered policemen Zhang Guofu and over 740 police officers to engage in a citywide arrest of Falun Dafa practitioners. Zhang Guofu's brother Zhang Tao, his sister-in-law, and his niece were among those arrested. Zhang Tao was persecuted in Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp, from which he was granted bail for treatment only when he was on the verge of death. He died on July 31st, 2002.
  • Persecution of 70-year-old Mr. Han Qichun and Others in Laizhou City, Shandong Province

    On March 26th, 2007, five Laizhou City State Security agents stormed into Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Han Qichun's home, who is nearly 70 years old, and arrested him. Inside the Shahe Town Police Station, agents beat Mr. Han Qichun brutally, causing him to have difficulty breathing; he passed out several times in one night, and his life was in danger. He was released after his daughter was extorted of ten thousand yuan in cash. When he returned home the authorities constantly harassed him, so Mr. Han Qichun and his wife were forced to leave home to avoid further mistreatment.
  • Ms. Mao Chunxia from Luoyang City, Henan Province Suffers Relentless Persecution; Her Father Dies from Trauma

    For refusing to renounce Falun Gong, Ms. Mao Chunxia was sent to a forced labour camp in 2000, where she suffered severe abuse. On December 23rd, 2006, the police officers forcefully ransacked her home and arrested her. Chanhe District Police Department detained Mao Chunxia for 15 days, then she managed to escape. Nobody has known her whereabouts since then. The police often harassed her family members. Her father could not bear the constant pressure. As a result, he fell ill and died on February 7th, 2007.
  • The Persecution of Mr. Dai Jun from Heilongjiang Province

    After serving a year of forced labour, and a period of being homeless to avoid further persecution, Mr. Dai Jun ended up in Jixi City. He was arrested again for printing and distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution on April 25th, 2002. He is now being held at Mudanjiang City Prison in Heilongjiang Province. Guards tortured him around the clock with the “Tiger Bench” torture, force-feeding him with spicy mustard extract, exposing him to cold air, stabbing and burning his feet, cuffing his hands behind his back, kicking and beating him with batons. In order to prevent him from escaping, the police bound his feet with sticks and handcuffs, which caused him much difficulty in walking.
  • Jinan Provincial Women's Prison Denies Family Visits - Two Sisters Not Heard From for Almost a Year

    On June 24th, 2004, while having a meal together in a small restaurant, Ms. Qu Xiaotong and two Dafa practitioners, Mr. Zhao Weidong, along with Ms. Song Furong, were savagely arrested by several dozen police officers from Taian City. Qu Beibei was also arrested in the following several days. After being arrested the practitioners were tortured by extremely cruel means in attempts to extract “confessions.” This included being injected with drugs that damage one’s central nervous system. The practitioners' bodies and minds were severely tortured. In 2006, when their family visited them, they looked very thin and weak. But since the summer of 2006, Jinan Provincial Women's Prison has not allowed family visits and they have not been heard from since.
  • My Memories of Practitioner Ms. Lin Tiemei from Guangxi Autonomous Region

    Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Lin Tiemei was a graduate school student. On December 8th, 2005, she died from the persecution at the Guangxi Women's Forced Labour Camp and Mental Hospital. She was only 33 years old. I could not ease my heart when I saw the news on the Internet that Ms. Lin had been brutally persecuted to death. For a long time I could not accept it. The bloody scenes of the two of us suffering inhuman torture in that den of monsters appeared before my eyes one after another.
  • Luo Gan Conspires with Shijiazhuang Court to Abuse Power and Turn the Trial of Practitioner Wang Bo into a Show Trial

    The case of Wang Bo went to the second round of hearings in Shijiazhuang City on April 27th. Six defence lawyers from Beijing courageously walked out of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) shadow, and bravely pleaded not guilty for the family of Wang Bo. This drew wide attention from international society. The lawyers pointed out 13 incidences of authorities violating legal procedures, and submitted supplementary defence statements.
  • Elderly Ms. Zhang Baoying from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province Dies as a Result of Long-Term Persecution

    Because elderly Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhang Baoying and her husband Mr. Jiao Yutian both kept cultivating Falun Dafa and following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, they were harassed, threatened, and mistreated by their employer, the 610 Office, and local police. Mr. Jiao Yutian died in July 2003, and Ms. Zhang Baoying died on May 20th, 2007 after being harassed, robbed, and threatened with arrest by police officers.
  • Three Family Members Arrested; Wife Forced to Have Abortion in Order to be Admitted into Detention Centre

    On April 24th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhai Huiling and her husband Mr. Liu Yonghui were arrested by police in Beijing. Two days later, Mr. Liu's mother, Ms. Yang Tiezhen, also a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested. Ms. Zhai was pregnant at the time and was thus rejected by the Lugouqiao Detention Centre. In order for her to be admitted by the detention centre, she was forced by the police to have an abortion.
  • Persecution of Ms. Zhang Wuying from Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province Continues after Her Husband's Death

    In 2000, the then five-months pregnant Zhang Wuying and her husband, Wu Dianhui, were abducted and taken to a psychiatric hospital in Changzhou City by the leader of the school where she worked. There, she was tied to a bed and injected with drugs. On May 1st, 2001, Mr. Wu, was sent into the Disciplinary Team in Fangqiang Farm, Dafeng City, Jiangsu Province, where he suffered almost two years of persecution. He was shocked with electric batons until his flesh was burnt, made to do extra-strenuous slave labour, prohibited from sleeping at night, imprisoned in small cells, handcuffed, and beaten up by other inmates in the labour camp. After Mr. Wu was released from the labour camp, and after suffering almost three years of illness, torture, and pain, he died on February 11th, 2006.
