Ms. Xu Jingxian of Changsha City, Hunan Province Facing Illegal Court Trial - Her Non-Practitioner Husband and Son Sentenced to Labour Camp

Arrested four months ago by police, Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Jingxian is now facing an illegal court trial just for exposing the persecution of Falun Dafa and telling people about the goodness of Falun Dafa. Her husband and son, who are not Falun Gong practitioners, were sent to a labour camp a few days ago. They were then sentenced to one year and three months and one year and six months respectively. The son is only about 20 years old. They had committed no crime except to believe that Falun Gong is good. -
The Persecution Ms. Bian Weixiang Suffered for Years in Heilongjiang Province
2005-08-22Wanjia Forced Labour Camp is notorious for its darkness and evil. Practitioners have suffered from various tortures, which are beyond imagination. Almost every determined Falun Gong practitioner, including 56-year-old Ms. Bian Weixing, has suffered terrible torture. Some practitioners were forced to keep the squatting position for 27 consecutive days, hung up, tied on the "death bed," and had toothpicks hammered under their fingernails. Police kicked and beat them. They used electric batons to shock practitioners' faces, necks and all over their bodies. -
Wanjia Labour Camp Guards Torture Practitioner Ms. Zhang Hong to Death (Photo)
2005-08-22In July 2004, because of her firm persistence in practising Falun Dafa, Ms. Zhang Hong was sentenced to the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City for the second time. Because she refused to write the "Three Statements" she was incarcerated in a solitary confinement room, which was dark, cold and damp. She was lying on a bare bed with her hands cuffed to the head of the bed and feet tied to the foot of the bed. Even in hot summer, people would shiver with cold in this room. This was the darkest room in the hell-like Wanjia Forced Labour Camp. Many practitioners were tortured to death or to disability there. -
An Unforgettable Scene: A Woman Refusing to Renounce Her Faith Though Covered in Ice and Ruthlessly Beaten
2005-08-21"Coldness and an evil atmosphere covered Xinle, a small city located in the Shijiazhuang area, Hebei Province. The Xinle City police forced every Falun Gong practitioner to pour a basin of cold water onto a "snow pile." However, it seemed that a person had been buried in the snow pile. After the pouring, a policeman dragged a person out from the snow pile. After a little while, we came to realise that it was a woman. -
Grandma in Her 90s Seeks Help to Free Her Granddaughter
2005-08-21Because she was a Falun Dafa practitioner Kong Fanrong was tortured to death in Shulan City Detention Centre on May 11th 2003. Her husband Bian Hongxiang (also a Falun Dafa practitioner), 93-year-old mother-in-law, and daughter Bian Lingyun as well as her in-laws have been continuously harassed and arrested by the police. Now that her granddaughter has been arrested, there is no one to take care of the 93-year-old grandmother. -
Numerous Falun Gong Practitioners Became Disabled or Died from Torture at Division 1 of the Fushun City Police Department
2005-08-21Fushun City Police Department has a torture chamber in the basement. "Splitting the legs" and "hang-up" are the two most commonly used torture methods. "Splitting the legs" can result in excruciating pain and loss of function of the lower limbs; "hang-up" means the perpetrators force the practitioner's arms behind his/her back and hang him/her up by the twisted arms. This torture often causes permanent disability. -
Practitioner Fu Lijun from Sichuan Province Unjustly Sentenced to Forced Labour Camp
2005-08-21Ms. Fu Lijun, a 32-year-old practitioner was arrested on June 5th while posting leaflets exposing the persecution in an area near Jianyang. She was sentenced to a forced labour camp without notifying her family and is now locked up at Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp. The family learned about her fate from other sources a few days after she was sentenced and locked up in the forced labour camp. The elder family members are overcome with grief, and the atmosphere in the house is gloomy and sad. -
Deaths of 98 More Falun Gong Practitioners Confirmed in July (Photos)
2005-08-20The genocidal persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang Zemin's group that began on July 20th 1999 has spanned six years. During those past six years, at least 2,739 Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death. These cases have been confirmed through independent channels. At least 98 additional deaths were verified in July 2005. Among these 98 deaths that were verified in July, 37 Falun Gong practitioners died between January and July 2005, and eight practitioners died in July. The demographics: 57 practitioners were women, representing 57% of the death toll; 47%, that is 46 practitioners, were older than 55 years. -
In Memory of Fellow Practitioner Jin Xiuqing
2005-08-20On June 29th 2005, thunderstorms swept across most of the southeastern regions in China, and rivers and lakes flooded furiously. Throughout central China, however, the scorching sun was hanging high, the vast land had turned into a giant inferno. On this particular day, she just left quietly without saying a single word, left this world, left her friends and relatives, and left this land that she loved so passionately. Without any justification, she died inside a small, damp, and sorrow-filled cell in the Beishan Detention Centre in Liaoning Province. She, Jin Xiuqing, was a 60-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner. -
How I Lost my Eyesight at Jilin Prison Due to Persecution
2005-08-20I was sentenced to four years of imprisonment in December 2003 and detained at the Jilin Prison. The prison guards tried to force me to give up practising Truth, Compassion, Forbearance. The most inhumane torture is called the death bed. The "bed" can be raised up. A person's four limbs would be tied to the bed. No one can stand it for ten minutes. Generally they would hang a practitioner on the "bed" for two to three minutes. They then asked the practitioner whether he or she would still practise Falun Gong. If the answer was a yes, they would hang him or her up again for another three to four minutes. Sometimes they repeated the torture four or more times. The person's muscles would be injured and he or she would become paralysed and lose the ability to walk. I suffered unbearable physical and mental tortures. My eyesight deteriorated badly, but the prison refused to release me on medical parole. They caused a delay until I completely lost my eyesight. -
Urgent Letter From Wang Xiuying's Disabled Husband, After She Was Abducted for the Fourth Time
2005-08-20"My wife, Wang Xiuying, is an employee at Xi'an Jiaotong University. Because she does not want to give up her belief in Falun Gong, she was abducted by a group of police from the 610 Offices. Her colleagues told me that she was carried away by the police, and that she is currently being subjected to brainwashing and mental torture at the Worker's Health Centre in Xi'an City. My wife is a very nice and honest person. Just because she practises Falun Gong, she has been abducted by the police many times and sent to detention centres and forced labour camps to be brainwashed for several months. She has been physically and mentally tortured in an inhumane way. Now my family is not like a family anymore." -
Savage Abuse of A Practitioner in His 60's in Sichuan Province Prison
2005-08-19The prison guards restrained Mr. Zhang on the punishment bed for about 20 days. Because his arms and legs were handcuffed to the metal bed he couldn't avoid the biting mosquitoes. His clothing was drenched with sweat, then dried and became soaked again, again and again. His clothing wasn't washed for three weeks. In order to reduce their sentences six or seven criminal prisoners insulted and tortured him at will. -
I Witnessed Ms. Gao Rongrong Being Tortured in Longshan Forced Labour Camp
2005-08-19 Ms. Gao didn't come out because of her bad health, so several team leaders forced her out. Female guard Liang Zhen shouted, "Handcuff her!" Tang Yubao took an electric baton and rushed at Ms. Gao. He grabbed her hair, pulled her out of bed and pushed her into the aisle. Before Ms. Gao was able to get her balance, Tang Yubao started to hit her face from both sides. He then grabbed her by her hair and hit her head against the table and the wall." -
Four Elderly Practitioners Die From Persecution in Hebei, Hunan and Jilin Provinces
2005-08-1960-year-old Mr. Dong Jinchang frequently suffered brutal torture and beatings at the detention centre. He was released only after his physical condition deteriorated severely and the centre officials were afraid that they would be held accountable. He never regained his health after returning home, and died around mid-July 2005. -
Five Practitioners from Hebei, Liaoning, and Sichuan Provinces Die Due to Persecution
2005-08-19Mr. Shi Peifeng lived in Liaoning Province. He started practising Falun Dafa in January 1998. He had kidney disease, which improved greatly after he practised Falun Dafa. After he went to Beijing to appeal on November 20th 1999, he was taken to the Longshan Brainwashing Centre and later transferred to the Fifth Detention Centre for further persecution. He was released after his parents were forced to pay a fine. Under the long-term persecution, his practice environment was severely sabotaged. In August 2003, his kidney disease returned. He was only 21 when he died on September 19th 2004.
