  In the afternoon on December 9, 2003, police knocked on practitioners' homes intending to ransack the residences. After being refused entry, they called in fire engines and an anti-riot squad to break down the practitioners' doors with power equipment. They rushed in and illegally ransacked their homes. In two hours, they looted equipment including computers worth 22,000 yuan. Wang Xishun seized the chance to rob practitioners Niu Fengqin and Cheng Yulan of 1600 yuan. They even plundered ladles and a bag of rice.

• Retired School Teacher Ms. Wu Yuyun from Guangdong Province Persecuted to Death

  Ms. Wu Yuyun, in her 60s, was a retired middle school teacher from Guangdong Province. In August 2003, she was arrested and sent to a brainwashing class held by the provincial government – for the third time - to force her to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. Her family members were not allowed to visit her. After being repeatedly arrested and subjected to brainwashing, Ms. Wu's health deteriorated and she passed away in September 2004.

• Professor Zhao Jindong from the English Department of Hengshui Normal College Faces Prison Term for E-Mailing Information about Falun Gong

  Professor Mr. Zhao Jindong, who works at the English Department of Hengshui Normal College, Hebei Province, has been using email to let more people know the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution for quite some time. Recently, the police department in Hengshui City, using its Internet monitoring tools, found out about Mr. Zhao's activities and arrested him. Right now, Mr. Zhao is being held in the Hengshui City Detention Centre.

• Slave Labour for Falun Gong Practitioners at Baimiao Forced Labour Camp

  Baimiao Forced Labour Camp took advantage of the laws that favour corrupt behaviour and allowed bad things to be done to good people. Between April and July 2004, Squad 3 processed and packed at least one hundred tons of fake pesticides and sold them. No one will ever know how many farmers were cheated. In order to produce the fake pesticides, the guards in Squad 3 forced the prisoners to work throughout the night. Everyday, we were assigned huge workloads and had to work over 18 hours. Beatings to force us to complete the work quickly took place daily.

• The Bar Association of Shanghai Violates the Law by Forbidding Lawyers to Defend Falun Gong Practitioners

  Several years ago the Shanghai Bar Association gave oral notification to all of its lawyers, forbidding them from defending Falun Gong practitioners in court. The penalty for defending Falun Gong practitioners is an immediate cancellation of their lawyer's license. According to one lawyer he said, "No one, neither the lawyer's office nor a lawyer would dare to defend a Falun Gong practitioner, because lawyers have to earn money to support their families."

• Mr Meng Jixiang and His Son-in-Law Are Tortured to Death in Forced Labour Camps

  Tianjin City Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Meng Jixiang (56 years old) and his son-in-law were tortured to death in Qingpowa and Banqiao Forced Labour Camps, respectively. In 2002, Mr Meng was abducted by police, merely because he practises Falun Dafa. His son in law went to find out his whereabouts, was seized and sent to a forced labour camp, where he was savagely beaten to death. Mr Meng was also tortured to death in early 2004.

• Mr. Song Tingfang, an Official from Inner Mongolia, Died in 2002 as a Result of Persecution

  Mr. Song Tingfang, who used to work in a Livestock Department, Inner Mongolia, was sent to a forced labour camp by the local Political and Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office, and his own work unit because of his determination to practise Falun Gong. As a result of the persecution, he became very weak physically and eventually died in April of 2002.

• Fearing Exposure, Forced Labour Camp and Prison Officials Refuse to Release Practitioners Who Have Been Persecuted to the Brink of Death

  Since the persecution of Falun Dafa began in July 1999, guards and police in China's forced labour camps and prisons have tortured many illegally imprisoned practitioners to the brink of death because they refused to give up their belief in Falun Dafa. They do not release the injured practitioners earlier because they are afraid the practitioners will expose the crimes at the camps and prisons. They often release practitioners just when they are about to die, to prevent the death from being counted in the prison or labour camp statistics. They also hope to hide their evil conduct. This is the typical Communist Party pattern of "untruthful, evil and violent" behaviour.

• Falun Dafa Practitioners Ms Yu Xiuying from Hebei Province and Ms Liang Guirong from Sichuan Province Died as the Result of the Persecution

  50 year old Ms. Yu Xiuying from Hebei Province was healed of breast cancer through Falun Dafa practice. However due to intense brainwashing, torture and harassment by police, the cancer that had been in remission came back. Unfortunately she died on November 2, 2004. 36 year old Ms. Liang Guirong lived in Sichuan Province. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in 2000, was arrested in Tiananmen Square and tortured beyond recognition. She died on May 13th 2002.

• Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wei Xu of Gansu Province Has Died as a Result of Persecution

  Mr. Wei Xu, 66 years old was detained in a Detox Centre for over a year because of his participation in Falun Gong truth-clarifying activities. As a result of the physical and mental torture he endured, he suffered a recurrence of the severe high blood pressure and leukemia, which had been cured previously by his practice of Falun Gong. Because of frequent harassment from the local police, Mr. Wei's condition worsened and he passed away at the end of October 2004.

• Ms. Yang Baozhen of Qian'an Township in Jilin Province Died from Persecution

  Ms. Yang Baozhen, 55 years old, was a retired employee of Dabusu Department Store, Qian'an Township, Jilin Province. She was sentenced to a forced labour camp for one year. During her labour camp detention, she showed heart disease symptoms and was released on bail for treatment. Yang was under close surveillance and was harassed after her release. She was forced to leave home and went from place to place to escape further persecution. As a result, Yang suffered greatly physically and mentally and passed away on November the 8th 2004.
