The Persecution I Saw and Experienced in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2011-07-21On January 27th, 2010, I was arrested by police for practising Falun Gong. Because I refused to tell them my name, they beat me. My mouth was bleeding, and both sides of my chest were severely injured as a result of being hit and kicked. I could not turn over in bed at night, and it was even hard to breathe. In March 2010, I was sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Guards tied me to a “stretching bed” torture device and began to stretch me while blowing cigarette smoke in my face. My face was covered with tears. They increased the tension, and the pain was excruciating. -
A Personal Account of the Persecution of Ms. Deng Lijuan
2011-07-21On July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong. My husband and I went to Beijing to appeal for justice but were arrested and sent back to Yushu City. We were held in the detention centre and tortured for two months before being released. At that time, my six-year-old son was at home alone, without with no one to cook for him or take care of him. In 2002 police again arrested my husband and I. I was tortured in the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City for one year and my husband was tortured for three years. He died on April 7th, 2004, three days after he returned home. -
Ms. Sun Lianjun Suffers Internal Injuries From Beatings by Prison Guards at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2011-07-21On May 31st, 2010, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Sun Lianjun. Ms. Sun was then sentenced to two years of forced labour and is now being detained in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Around June 20th, 2011, when her family came to visit her at the forced labour camp, she came out of a small cell, emaciated and unkempt. Her family asked the prison guards what was going on. A guard said, “She did not cooperate, and she shouted 'Falun Gong is good'.” They threatened to extend her term. She was beaten by guards, causing her severe internal injuries and intense pain. She was held in a small cell and made to perform forced labour. -
60-Year-Old Ms. Shi Yingchun Beaten to Death in Liaoning Women's Prison - Additional Information
2011-07-20Practitioner Ms. Shi Yingchuna was arrested and sent to the First Squad, Eighth Prison District of the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. In prison, she refused to give up practising Falun Gong, so the prison guards ordered eight prisoners to beat her. The beatings lasted from the night of March 27th, 2010 until the following morning. She was then sent to the hospital, where she later died. -
Practitioners Arrested in Shenzhen City
2011-07-20Five Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by the Shenzhen City police on June 21st. Mr. Liu Xiaoguang, 33, is being held in the Longgang Detention Centre. When Mr. Liu’s aunt arrived in the detention centre, she was told that she could not see him, and that Mr. Liu was facing a minimum three-year term for practising Falun Gong. -
High Voltage Electroshock Torture Tools Used at Panjin Prison
2011-07-20On April 19th, 2009, guards at Panjin Prison in Liaoning Province severely tortured Falun Gong practitioners. At 1:00 p.m. that day, guards forcibly took practitioners Mr. Huang Lizhong and Mr. Gong Wanyou to a confinement team that brutally tortured them for four hours. The torture was administered for three consecutive days, and ended at 3:00 p.m. on April 21st. The torture consisted of shocking the practitioners' entire bodies with 1.5 million-volt electric batons, and beating their faces and heads with the soles of shoes. As the result of the cruelty, Mr. Huang Lizhong and Mr. Gong Wanyou were covered with cuts and bruises. Their faces, lips, and heads were deformed by the resulting swelling. It was difficult to recognise who they were. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Arrested for Having “Too Much Traffic at Your Home”
2011-07-20Ms. Shi Jing was arrested by Daqing city police recently for having “too much traffic” at her home. On June 21st, police went to arrest Falun Gong practitioner Shi Jing. She wasn't home, so they ransacked her home instead. When she heard what was happening, she went back to her house. Seeing what the officers were doing, she asked, “Why are you ransacking my home? Do you have a search warrant?” Police officer Chen said, “We don't need a search warrant to arrest people like you.” She was then arrested and taken to the Daqing city first detention centre. -
Mr. Jiao Lingyun Dies in Custody in Heilongjiang Province
2011-07-19On June 10th, more than a dozen police officers arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiao Lingyun from his work and also arrested practitioners Ms. Dai Lixia and Ms. Luan Xiuyuan who worked in the dining hall. The police twice ransacked Mr. Jiao's home, extorted 3000 yuan from him, and detained him in the Jixian County Detention Centre. On July 8th, just 29 days later, he died in custody. A witness said that Mr. Jiao died upon arriving at the hospital. He was as thin as a skeleton and had bruises on his head and an obvious black scar on the left side of his neck. His clothes were wet, and his face was dark purple. -
Torture Methods: Dislocating Joints
2011-07-19Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Xianming was held in Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun. The guards twisted his arms 360 degrees until they came out their sockets. Guard Zhu Shenglin violently shook his dislocated arms, and Mr. Sun screamed in horrible pain. He was on the brink of death within a year in the labour camp. After returning home, he had an X-ray at the city hospital, which showed his upper arms were broken and twisted 90 degrees. He underwent surgery and had his bones re-set, but he lost the use of his arms. -
Ms. Chang Lihua Forced to Leave Home for More Than Three Years, Her Family Harassed More Than One Hundred Times
2011-07-19Ms. Chang cultivated by following the standards of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and she became kind and selfless. She became known as a good person. However, this good person was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and could not return home. On March 4th, 2008, four police officers broke into Chang Lihua's home, ransacked it, and took away her Falun Gong books, informational materials, and other personal belongings. They also wanted to arrest her, but she was not at home and was therefore able to avoid the arrest. Police returned to her house every 10 to 15 days to harass her family members. -
The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Dong Xiuqin, Elementary Schoolteacher from Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province
2011-07-19Ms. Dong Xiuqin, 56, has been released from Dabei Jail in Shenyang. She is totally different from before her arrest. She used to be an open, warm, energetic, and healthy elementary teacher. But now, her eyes are dull, she is very thin, her hair is white, and her front teeth are missing. She looks like she is 70 years old. People cannot believe this is the same person. -
Kindhearted Young Woman Trapped in an Evil Den
2011-07-18Ms. Hu Miaomiao, a 25-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested on June 15th, 2010 for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Without following any legal procedures or informing her family, the local police sentenced her to one year of forced labour and transferred her to Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shijiazhuang City. Labour camp guards urged inmates to abuse Ms. Hu during her yearlong incarceration, with extremely base methods, including sexually abusing her with broom handles. Such sexual assault caused this young woman tremendous physical and psychological trauma. -
Elderly Mr. Yin Yucai Suffers Mental Collapse as a Result of Persecution in Yuzhang Prison, Jiangxi Province
2011-07-18Mr. Yin Yucai, 79, was released from eight years of imprisonment in the Yuzhang Prison on July 4th. While incarcerated he suffered a mental collapse, and has become a different person from how he was prior to being imprisoned. Even on hot days he now wears a thick cap and face mask, and still trembles. He is afraid of meeting people, and is afraid to go home. He keeps saying, “He wants to kill me and my family, I can't return home.” It has been learned that Mr. Yin should have been released in late December 2010, but prison guards intensified their attempts to “reform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] him. -
Zhao Guirong and Gou Zhengxia from Xianyang, Shaanxi Again Detained
2011-07-18While practitioners Zhao Guirong and Gou Zhengxia were distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Xianyang City on July 4th, they were reported to police and then taken away by police to the police station. At night, police officers broke into Ms. Zhao's home and confiscated Falun Gong DVDs, Falun Gong informational materials, and Falun Gong books. Previously, in September 2005, while Ms. Zhao and Ms. Gou Zhengxia were again publicly distributing Falun Gong informational materials they were reported to the authorities. They were sent to Shaanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp for three years. -
Ms. Zhang Xiangfen, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Anshan City, Liaoning Province Sentenced
2011-07-18On June 19th, the Tiedong District Court of Anshan City, Liaoning Province, sentenced Ms. Zhang Xiangfen to a three-year prison term without the presence of any factual evidence. On February 14th, 2011, Ms. Zhang Xiangfen spoke to a a relative at a nursing home about the beauty and goodness of Falun Gong. As a result, she was arrested by police and detained the Anshan No. 1 Detention Centre. During her trial her defence lawyer stated he had comprehensively analysed the laws in China and found no grounds in the law to criminally prosecute Ms. Zhang Xiangfen for her belief in Falun Gong.
