First Hand Account of Falun Gong Practitioner Yang Zhonggeng – Tortured in Ruian City, Zhejiang Province

When Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Zhonggeng was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution ten years ago, he was arrested by the police of Rushan City, Shandong Province. He suffered inhumane torture – shocked with a high voltage electric baton, injected with unknown drugs and brainwashed. He went on a hunger strike to protest. In his words: "I was force-fed. I was held down by prisoners and a rubber tube was inserted into my stomach through my nostrils. My nose and throat were bleeding and it was extremely painful. Force-feeding like this is life threatening and I would rather die than live like this." -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Gao Mingxia Held at Qingdao City Detention Centre
2011-04-18Ms. Gao Mingxia is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qingdao City, Shandong Province. She has been held in the Qingdao No. 3 Detention Centre since July 11th, 2010. When her husband tried to get her out of detention he was harassed by different branches of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He ended up getting seriously ill, and died on March 8th, 2011. Because Ms. Gao refused to give up her belief, officials forbade her from seeing her husband before he died. -
After Being Held in Forced Labour Camps, Zhou Yandong, 40, Is White-Haired and Can Barely Walk
2011-04-18Forty-year-old practitioner, Zhou Yandong, was sentenced to forced labour camps three times. He was then moved to a brainwashing centre, where his hair turned white. Currently, he has a haggard face, an extremely weak body, and can barely walk. On March 20th, 2010, Mr. Zhou was arrested in Shuangyan District while he was exposing the persecution to a member of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). He was sentenced on April 3rd to one year in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City. He was abused there, began vomiting blood and had a fever for a very long period. -
Spaceflight 7111 Factory Withholds Falun Gong Practitioners' Earnings
2011-04-18The Spaceflight 7111 Factory closely follows the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)directive of “economically depriving” practitioners. This policy is bankrupting practitioners who work at the factory, struggling for survival, and are living close to the poverty line. In March and April 2000, practitioner Ms. Wang Meizhen was arrested and detained at the Wenjiang Detention Centre for fifteen days. Jia Youngfu, former Party secretary of the Spaceflight Factory, fined Ms. Wang 3,800 yuan, of which, 3,000 yuan was the factory's fine and 800 yuan was a fine to be paid by the factory's managers due to the CCP's implication policy, but taken from Ms. Wang. The factory also withheld her salary for a year, which came to around 6,000 yuan. -
Ms. Liu Xinyu Recounts Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Brainwashing and “Transformation”
2011-04-17To my regret, I left Falun Gong cultivation for almost two years, between June 2001 and February 2003. That was the time when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] me. I was detained at Chongqing Maojiashan Women's Forced Labour Camp, where I was brainwashed with information that defamed Falun Gong, force fed, forced to stand all night long, and beaten brutally. I was subjected to torture, humiliation and mistreatment. I was sometimes hung up by handcuffs. The cruellest torture was “carrying a sword behind the back.” One hand was pulled down over the shoulder behind the back, and the other hand pulled up from the waist behind the back then handcuffed to the other hand. The pain was unbearable. -
Jinan City Resident Ms. Huang Min Tortured to the Point of Mental Collapse
2011-04-17Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Min was arrested in October 2006 and sent to the First Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jinan City. She was tortured until she suffered a mental collapse. She was transferred to Lashan Mental Hospital of Jinan in October 2007, immediately after she finished serving her term at the forced labour camp. She was held in the mental hospital for over a year. In February 2011, Ms. Huang's husband and older brother—who have both been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda defaming Falun Gong—forcibly sent her to the mental hospital again. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Zhanjin, a Senior Engineer from Beijing Imprisoned
2011-04-17Ms. Li Zhanjin from Beijing is a former senior engineer at the Qingniao Company affiliated with Beijing University. She was forced to quit her job. She was transferred from the Haidian Detention Centre to Beijing Women's Prison on March 24th, 2011, where she is currently undergoing forced brainwashing. Ms. Li was arrested by police for practising Falun Gong on December 29th, 2009. Haidian Court officials tried her in July 2010. Ms. Li's lawyer entered a non-guilty plea for her but the court still sentenced her to three years in prison. -
Ms. Zhang Ying Suffering in a Shanghai Women's Prison
2011-04-17In June 2010, Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Ying was sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment by officials of the Changning District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Shanghai court. She is currently imprisoned in Songjiang Women's Prison in Shanghai, where she is being brutally tortured. In November 2010, Ms. Zhang was beaten and verbally abused by four inmates, who shared the same cell with her. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Severely Abused in Lanzhou Prison
2011-04-16In order to pressure practitioners to renounce Falun Gong, Lanzhou Prison forces them to do hard labour. Prison officials assign three criminals as personal monitors to deal with every practitioner. The selected criminals are the most vicious ones. In order to carry out the quota assigned by their leaders, to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] 98 per cent of the practitioners, they use very brutal tactics. They have used high voltage electric batons, rubber batons, and other instruments to beat practitioners. Practitioners were forced to stand or sit from 6:00 a.m., when they got up, until 10:00 p.m., the time they went to bed. After a period of time, their legs swelled and their buttocks developed painful sores. They were often punched and kicked by their personal monitors. -
Ms. Wu Bilin, 62, Arrested Again and Sent to Chenjiaji Brainwashing Centre in Wuhan City
2011-04-16On March 10th, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Bilin was once again arrested at her home by Wuhan City police officers. She has been sent to Chenjiaji Brainwashing Centre. Over the 11 years of persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Ms. Wu has been arrested 13 times. Previously Ms. Wu was detained in the brainwashing centre for seven months. During this time, the Jiangan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) head Hu Shaobin personally directed the mental and physical torture of Ms. Wu. He was unable to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] Ms. Wu, so he used many cruel ways to torture her. -
Song Sisters Fengjiao and Caijiao from Tianmen City, Hubei Province Arrested
2011-04-16Sisters Ms. Song Fengjiao and Ms. Song Cuijiao were recently arrested by the police because they practise Falun Gong. The Song sisters gave Falun Gong materials to a household in Xiongjiadawan, Songda Village on March 23rd, 2011. The owner of the home was a village official. He had been out drinking. When he returned home, he saw a Falun Gong brochure and called the police, who arrested the sisters. That night the sisters were sent to the Tianmen Second Detention Centre where they are still detained. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Yu Zhujiang Tortured in Baoding Prison
2011-04-16Practitioner Mr. Yu Zhujiang was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2009. He was taken to the No. 11 section at Baoding Prison, where he was once handcuffed to a tree for refusing to do hard labour. In order to try to force him to give up his belief in Falun Gong, the guards took Mr. Yu to the No. 20 section in 2010 and brutally tortured him. Then, they ordered six inmates to closely monitor him around the clock and not let him talk to anyone. The instructor also instigated inmates to take turns beating Mr. Yu every day. As a result, his face became swollen and was covered with bruises. -
Jinzhong Guards Ordered Prisoners to Brutally Beat Mr. Wang Zhigang, Resulting in Blindness
2011-04-15Mr. Wang Zhigang started practising Falun Gong in 1996. Because the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting Falun Gong since 1999, Mr. Wang was arrested in 2008. He was sentenced to a three-year prison term and detained in Jinzhong Prison. This once healthy man became blind in his right eye and the sight in his left eye became blurry after brutal beatings by prisoners. -
Li Yi from Shenyang City Dies as a Result of Brutal Persecution
2011-04-15Falun Gong practitioner Li Yi was arrested and imprisoned many times after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong. He was in critical condition twice. Mr. Li was finally taken home from the detention centre by his family, and died on March 26th, 2011 at age 42. In the Weigong Police Station five police officers tortured and interrogated Li Yi in an attempt to obtain a “confession” in April 2006. They did not allow Mr. Li to sleep for an entire day and night. They cuffed Li Yi's hands behind the back of a chair, and forcefully pressed his head down until he was sitting on the ground. The police put his legs together and began forcing his body into a stretch on the ground by pulling up on the handcuffs. Officer Yang Hai stomped on Li Yi's legs and kept his shoes rolling back and forth. An officer even tried to sit on top of Li Yi's back and used the heel of his shoe to kick his lower back very hard. His wrists were broken and he could not straighten his back or walk without help. -
Ms. Mao Xiulan from Gangu County, Gansu Province Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison
2011-04-15On January 28th, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Mao Xiulan was arrested from her home by National Security police officers from the Gangu County Public Security Bureau. She was detained at the Gangu County Detention Centre and later was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Ms. Mao is currently detained at the Jiuzhou Woman's Prison in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. Mao Xiulan has suffered two heart attacks during the imprisonment. The guards do not allow her family members to bring her anything during visitation and do not allow them to see Ms. Mao in person.
