My Brother Was Tortured to Death Within Ten Days at Gangbei Prison

After being held in prison for 11 years, I was released on medical parole on April 26th, 2013 because of ill health. On arriving home, I was told that my younger brother, Mr. Li Xiwang, died ten days after he was taken to Gangbei Prison. I was told that my brother suffered what is called the “anchor torture.” In this torture method the person's legs are kept straight and fixed, held upright by iron pipes, while the hands are shackled to the ground. The back is arched and the legs are immobile. My brother was anchored for over ten hours (the maximum time one can endure this torture method is two hours). He was found dead at midnight. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Suffers Permanent Nervous System Damage from Forced Administration of Drugs in Prison
2013-10-07Mr. Dong Yanfa, 55, used to suffer from heart disease, but he became completely healthy after practising Falun Gong. In July 1999 the Chinese Communist regime violated the country's own constitution and deprived its people the freedom of faith by launching the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Dong was since arrested and detained in the Ji'an City Detention Centre five times for persevering in practising Falun Gong. Two police officers forced an unknown drug into his nose. He lost all feeling in his lower body and even lost the ability to speak. He now has limited use of his body and to this day he continues to suffer from the damage caused by the drugs. -
Mr. Cao Jingyu Dies After Enduring Seven Years of Imprisonment
2013-10-07Mr. Cao Jingyu, from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was imprisoned for seven years for his belief in Falun Gong. He was tortured and force-fed during the incarceration. He was forced to do slave labour during the day and subjected to physical punishment at night. Upon his release, agents from the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) continued to harass him at home, and his health deteriorated further. Mr. Cao passed away on September 22nd, 2013, at the age of 40. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Continue to Be Detained and Tortured in Dalian Rehabilitation Centre
2013-09-24The Dalian Rehabilitation Centre, formerly known as the Dalian Forced Labour Camp, has released several of its detainees. However, Falun Gong practitioners are still being held in the centre and tortured. Although the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) claims that it is shutting down the forced labour camp system, practitioners are still being persecuted in other locations such as brainwashing centres and prisons. Since 2008, the Dalian Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province has been notorious for the methods of torture it uses on practitioners. To cover up its crimes and continue persecuting practitioners, officials at the camp changed the name to the “Dalian Rehabilitation Centre.” -
Outstanding Teacher Taken To a Brainwashing Centre in Laizhou City, Shandong Province
2013-09-24Mr. Zang Kuidong, an outstanding teacher from Laizhou City, Shandong Province, was arrested on May 28th, 2013, for distributing materials explaining the facts about Falun Gong and was detained for 15 days. Upon returning home he was no longer allowed to teach his classes and was taken to a brainwashing centre by the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and police on July 2nd. -
The Brutal Torture I Endured at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2013-09-24I was arrested in 2005 for posting materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in public areas. I was later taken to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province. I refused to do slave labour and was thus frequently tortured by the guards, who were very brutal. I began a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Guards pressed hard on my hands, which were shackled to the bed, and forced a tube into me every day. I was in excruciating pain. After a while, my nose, eyes, and face became swollen and they could not push the tube into my nose. Instead they inserted the tube directly into my throat. After force-feeding, I was hung up in a slanted position. -
More Information about Mr. Yang Zhonggeng's Death in Police Custody
2013-09-24Mr. Yang Zhonggeng, 38, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Ruian City, Zhejiang Province. He was arrested on June 24th, 2013, and is believed to have been beaten to death within 4 days after his arrest, on June 28th, by police. When Mr. Yang's family viewed his body they noted that it was covered with bruises and one of his legs was black and blue. An autopsy was performed and the medical examiner said that Mr. Yang did not die as a result of physical trauma. Mr. Yang's internal organs were removed and refrigerated for further investigation. His body was cremated. Although it appeared without a doubt that Mr. Yang was beaten to death, nobody dares to admit it. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Fang Yu, an Engineer, in Critical Condition
2013-09-24Ms. Fang Yu was sentenced to a six and a half year prison term for practising Falun Gong. She was arrested on July 2nd, 2013, and is being tortured. She is unable to eat or drink due to the abuse. She has become emaciated and is in critical condition. Despite her deteriorating health, she was sentenced to a six and a half year prison term. She has appealed to the Tongling City Intermediate Court. -
Children Persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
2013-09-24Young Wang Xin had two older sisters. The younger sister died from shock when the police broke into their home, while the older one was forced to leave school and stay at a forced labour camp for two years. Wang Xin was sent to a detention facility, and he wailed and cried every day, telling the adults, “I just want to go home!” Wang Xin is the Wang family's only son. His parents owned a small shop, and both practise Falun Gong. After the persecution began, the parents were arrested, and the family lost their source of income. -
Ms. Ren Ping Repeatedly Tortured, Raped and Sexually Abused Over the Course of a Decade
2013-09-18Ms. Ren Ping, a Falun Gong practitioner from Langfang City, Hebei Province, has been arrested at least 8 times during the 14-year-long persecution. She's been detained in detention centres, brainwashing centres, forced labour camps and the basement of Beijing Police Hospital. Ms. Ren Ping has suffered cruel and inhuman persecution at the hands of evildoers---including torture, rape and sexual abuse. Several times she's nearly died. -
Witnessing Prison Guards Persecute Practitioners to Insanity
2013-09-17I was shocked to learn on the Minghui website about a talented Qinghua University student named Ms. Liu Zhimei. She was persecuted to insanity in a prison under the Chinese communist regime. I witnessed other practitioners being persecuted while I was imprisoned over the last few years. One was 60-year-old Ms. Chen Xiaoyue. Due to the intense persecution, Ms. Chen was “reformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] by the communist regime and gave up her faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The police then forced her to help reform other practitioners and torture them if they refused to cooperate. Ms. Chen was later diagnosed with "manic psychosis." -
Ms. Yang Fenglan, 69, from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Died Due to Persecution
2013-09-17Ms. Yang Fenglan was arrested four times for her belief in Falun Gong. She was sentenced to three years in prison in 2009. Ms. Yang became severely ill during her imprisonment in the Hohhot Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. She was eventually released for medical attention, but passed away on June 19th, 2013 after two years of unsuccessful medical treatment. -
Mr. Fang Zhengping Dies in Prison in Xichang, Sichuan, after His Seventh Arrest
2013-09-17Mr. Fang Zhengping was a Falun Gong practitioner in Xichang, Sichuan Province. He was arrested for telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong in Yunnan Province, on October 14th, 2007. The Suijiang County Court sentenced him to seven years in prison. He died at the age of 57 after being tortured in the Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison. Before he died in prison, Mr. Fang had been jailed for 106 out of the 165 months since July 1999. Ms. Cheng, his wife, was sentenced to ten years in prison on September 14th, 2010, and is imprisoned in the Yangmahe Women's Prison in Jianyang, Sichuan Province. -
A Nurse from Jiangxi Province Subjected to Psychiatric Persecution for 10 Years
2013-09-17Ms. Jiang Xiaoying, a nurse at the Jiujiang City No. 5 Hospital in Jiangxi Province, refused to renounce her belief in Falun Gong and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She has been subjected to inhuman psychiatric persecution over the last 10 years. The medical staff injected drugs that damaged her central nervous system and force-feed her. It was rumoured that she was tied when injected unknown drugs and the mental patients were ordered to attack her. We call upon people worldwide to demand her release. -
Practitioner in Her Sixties Tortured in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2013-09-17Sixty four year-old Falun Gong practitioner Wang Shulan was taken to the Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp on May 25th, 2012 to serve a one-year sentence. Prison staff attempted to force her to give up her beliefs by torturing her with brainwashing sessions and other cruel methods. Ms. Wang was taken to Zhang Lili's office on June 27th after she refused to slander Falun Gong, where she was struck in the face and shocked with an electric baton.
