Exposing the Crimes of Panjiawan Brainwashing Centre in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province

According to recent updates, as of August 2011, 30 practitioners were arrested and persecuted in Panjiawan Brainwashing Centre. Practitioners were deceived, coerced, put through physical ordeals, and otherwise tortured to try to force them into writing statements promising not to practise Falun Gong. Practitioners are forced to stand and/or walk for long periods, and brutally beaten every day. Some are tied to metal chairs with their hands and legs in shackles. They are also deprived of sleep. Others are forbidden from going to the toilet, not given any water on hot days when the temperatures reach over 30 degrees, and fed meagre rations. -
Mr. Liu Yongjin Beaten Repeatedly in Tai'an Prison
2011-10-28Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Yongjin was arrested and sentenced to seven years in prison. He was taken to Tai'an Prison on June 18th, 2008 and has been subjected to torture ever since. He was beaten repeatedly for a week. In June 2011, Mr. Liu was incarcerated in the No. 1 Ward and considered as one of their main targets of its "Breaking the Steadfast Ones" initiative to force those with strong faith in Falun Gong to renounce their beliefs. In order to fulfil their tasks, the monitoring personnel beat and kicked Mr. Liu. As a result, Mr. Liu had many bruises on his body and face and had difficulty walking. The guards gave term reductions to those inmates who joined the persecution effort. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured in Fuzhou Women’s Forced Labour Camp Because They Refused to “Report”
2011-10-28Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Linfen is in her 50s. Because she refused to follow the “report” rule, the guards would not let her wash herself for 12 days. They also took all her toilet paper and wouldn’t let her empty the chamberpot in her cell even though it was full. After being subjected to sleep deprivation for an entire night, Ms. Chen was forced to sit still on a small wooden bench with her legs together, her back straight, her hands on her knees, and she was forbidden move. Every day she was forced to sit this way for at least 12 hours. Sometimes the guards also forced her to stand still for extended periods of time. -
Over 100 Practitioners Being Held in Weinan Prison, Shaanxi Province
2011-10-27Weinan Prison in Shaanxi Province, was a prison for major criminal offenders. Since the persecution of Falun Gong started, practitioners have also been held there. It is currently housing over a hundred practitioners. All of them were tortured physically and mentally and their basic human rights were restricted. The guards have ordered major criminal offenders to torture practitioners. These inmates comply enthusiastically in order to get their terms reduced. -
Ms. Yin Jinmei Injected with Unknown Drugs By Jiangxi Women's Forced Labour Camp
2011-10-27Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yin Jinmei was taken to the Jiangxi Women's Forced Labour Camp in March 2009. The labour camp gave her unknown drugs against her wishes repeatedly. After Ms. Yin was released from the labour camp, she felt extremely weak, was out of breath, had poor appetite and could not sleep. More recently, she has been struggling with severe symptoms of poisoning and was near death. -
Two-year Detention for Ms. Du Wenhui at a Brainwashing Centre in Lanzhou, Gangsu Province
2011-10-27Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Du Wenhui has suffered repeated arrests, detention, and brainwashing since 1999. She was released in September 2010 after two and half years of detention in the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Du went on hunger strike to protest the persecution in the Brainwashing Centre. Guards punched her in the neck. The staff force-fed her for nine days. -
Two Sisters Sentenced to Chatou Forced Labour Camp
2011-10-27Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiaoling and Ms. Zhang Yueqi were arrested by police on August 3rd, 2011. The older sister, Zhang Xiaoling, was sentenced to two years in Chatou Forced Labour Camp and the younger sister, Zhang Yueqi, was sentenced to one year in the same camp. Zhang Yueqi is only 16 years old. Their mother has not been allowed to visit them. -
Practitioners Persecuted at Sansheng Temple Brainwashing Centre in Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province
2011-10-26Practitioners incarcerated in Sansheng Temple Brainwashing Centre are forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong and its teacher, and are physically and mentally tortured in various ways. To avoid others seeing or hearing the beatings, all of the windows, doors, and curtains are closed, and the volume of the TV is turned up to its maximum. Assistants are also used to persecute practitioners at the brainwashing centre. They are usually friends or relatives of people working there, and are rewarded with financial incentives. -
Summary of Abuses in Recent Years at the Tangshan City Kaiping Forced Labour Camp
2011-10-26Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, numerous practitioners have been tortured, disabled, and lost their lives in Tangshan City Kaiping Forced Labour Camp. In particular, after preparations for the Beijing Olympics began in 2008, more than 100 practitioners were sent to the Kaiping Forced Labour Camp. From 2000 to 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zheng Baohua was imprisoned four times, totalling more than seven years. Ms. Zheng was released from the Tangshan Kaiping Forced Labour Camp in November 2009, because she had late-stage tuberculosis. She died on April 18th, 2011, at the age of 32. -
Ms. Ma Chunli Tortured at Harbin Women's Forced Labour Camp, Now Physically Disabled
2011-10-26Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Chunli was tortured at the Harbin Women's Forced Labour Camp to the point of being physically disabled. She showed symptoms of serious blood loss over an extended period. Ms. Ma's relatives visited her at the labour camp in September 2011, and found her to be both emaciated and pale. She needed to support herself with a makeshift cane in order to walk. One leg was severely atrophied and didn't reach the floor, and the other leg was also losing body mass and could barely touch the ground. Every step she took was painful. -
Jing County Teacher Mr. Liu Jinqiang and his Wife Arrested--Their Home Ransacked by Police
2011-10-26Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Jinqiang drove a three-wheeled motorcycle with his wife, Ms. Wang Jing, and their friend, Ms. Zhao Jinrui, into Dezhou City to go shopping on September 20th. When they were on their way home after shopping, they were followed and stopped by four police vehicles. Many plainclothes police officers got out of the four vehicles and forcibly took Mr. Liu Jinqiang, Ms. Wang Jing, and Ms. Zhao Jinrui to their vehicles. A villager who witnessed the incident said, “Mr. Liu Jinqiang ran a few steps but he was caught and then handcuffed by the police. The police also pulled Ms. Wang Jing by the head and dragged her into a vehicle.” Ms. Wang is detained in the Dezhou Detention Centre. The police also confiscated what they had just purchased in Dezhou City, which cost over ten thousand yuan. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yu Zhenjie, 54, from Inner Mongolia Died as a Result of Persecution
2011-10-25Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Zhenjie was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) numerous times. As a result, she died on September 7th. Ms. Yu refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong. She was arrested and sentenced twice and spent a total of seven years in the Zhalantun Detention Centre and Hohhot Woman's Prison. In prison she was brutally tortured until she was in critical condition and diagnosed with cervical cancer and Hepatitis C. In order to free themselves from responsibility, the prison authorities released her to seek medical care. After she was released, the police from National Security Team from Zhalantun still harassed her at home, and her condition worsened. She passed away in great mental and physical agony. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Peng Had His Term Extended Two More Years After Suffering Ten Years of Imprisonment
2011-10-25Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Peng was a teacher from Nanhua University in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. He was arrested in February 2001 and was sentenced to ten years in prison. He was incarcerated in both Chishan Prison and Wuling Prison. His term has now been extended for two more years. He is now being held and brutally mistreated in the strictly regulated division of Wuling Prison. -
Court Fails to Inform the Family of Mr. Li Huosheng of His Trial
2011-10-25Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Huosheng, 53 was arrested on April 20th, 2011. More than 30 people broke into Mr. Li's home, searched it everywhere and took a computer, a printer, and all his Falun Gong books. Mr. Li was covertly tried on September 27th. Court officials didn't inform his family, so they could not attend the court proceedings. -
Crimes Committed by Song Wanzhong, the Head of Panjin Prison
2011-10-25Song Wanzhong, 45, is from Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province. As the head of Panjin Prison, he has been actively persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and has ordered guards there to torture practitioners. He then attempts to cover up his crimes. At least five practitioners have died of torture since Song became the prison head. Mr. Huang Cheng was brutally tortured after ending up in Panjin Prison, including being shocked simultaneously with eight electric batons and having needles inserted into all 10 fingers. This led to a stroke, half of his body swelling up, and death.
