Fujin City Teacher Ms. Liu Guizhen's Personal Account of Being Persecuted Again
2011-08-22Ms. Liu Guizhen, a maths teacher from Fujin City No. 4 Middle School, Heilongjiang Province, was forced to stop teaching in 2006 because she held firm to her belief in Falun Gong. In 2007, she was sentenced to forced labour and tortured in Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. After being released, the school would not take her back. Recently the school principal, Wu Hongbo, and the deputy principal, Wang Ze, cooperated with the local 610 Office staff (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) to arrest her. -
Four Practitioners from Dianbai County, Guangdong Province Taken to Brainwashing Centre
2011-08-21Over a dozen officers from the Shuidong Police Station and Guancaotian Police Station, arrested Ms. Mai Weilian, Ms. Pan Guihui, Ms. Hong Meifang and Mr. Liu Shaozai and took them to the Shuidong Police Station on August 6th. The police broke into Ms. Mai Weilian's home at 9:00 p.m. on August 6th. They ransacked the place without showing a warrant and confiscated Falun Gong books, cash, and Ms. Hong Meifang's bank deposit book. The four practitioners were taken to the Maoming Brainwashing Centre the following day. -
Puyang City Police in Henan Province Arrest Eight Falun Gong Practitioners in July
2011-08-21Eight Falun Gong practitioners residing in Puyang City of Henan Province were taken away by the police in July 2011. On July 8th, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Caowei was arrested. He was incarcerated in Nanyue County Detention Centre. His family attempted to visit him on July 11th, but were denied. When practitioners Ms. Shao Ziying and Mr. Zhang Wenbin were putting up banners at Nanyue County to expose the crimes of the county police against Mr. Wang Caowei, they themselves were arrested. -
Jiaohe City Officers Detain Nine Practitioners in Four Days
2011-08-21Seven practitioners were taken to brainwashing centres and two were taken to forced labour camps within four days, from August 1st-4th, in Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. Mr. Wu Dexiu and Mr. Wang Aiguo were taken to a forced labour camp to serve a one and a half year term on August 4th. They were arrested on July 20th, and interrogated by the Jiaohe Criminal Police Team officers under physical duress. Mr. Wu was arrested six times in the past. He was harassed often and had to leave his home. This is the third time he was sent to a forced labour camp. -
Changchun Women’s Prison Sets up “Reform Division” Specifically to Inflict Harm on Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-08-21Changchun Women’s Prison in Jilin Province set up a “Reform [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] Division” specifically to carry out brainwashing and inflict psychological and physical harm on practitioners. Between 300 and 400 practitioners are still incarcerated in the prison. One monitor named Pang Shuyan was extremely cruel. She called herself “Demon Pang” and once threatened one practitioner saying, “If you still refuse to reform, I’ll let you experience what it feels like when I step on your stomach with both of my feet and watch fluid shoot out of your nose and mouth.” Apparently she did that to other practitioners in the past. She also beat practitioners with a leather whip, pre-soaked in water. She even bragged about her brutality, “I’ve never gone easy on any practitioner I monitored. I’ll make you shudder just at the very sight of me!” -
The Persecution of Practitioners Continues in Jiamusi Prison
2011-08-20In February 2011, Mr. Qi Yueming, Mr. Yu Yungang, and Mr. Liu Chuangjiang were persecuted to death in Jiamusi Prison, all within 15 days. Since then, prison officials have changed their tactics to make things appear better from the outside, but the persecution still continues. They no longer force the practitioners' families to defame Falun Gong during their visits and have begun to allow the families to bring in food and other supplies, but they tightly control the prison since they know that news of practitioners being persecuted to death will be exposed on the Internet very quickly. -
Zhang Chunbao and Liu Jia Tortured in Deyang City, Sichuan Province
2011-08-20Director Liu Yuanhang of the Huangxu 95 Plant, a prison in Deyang City, Sichuan Province, ordered the prison guards to torture all detained Falun Gong practitioners at the beginning of February 2011. The guards did not allow Mr. Zhang or Mr. Liu Jia out and only let them sleep two hours at night, forcing them to stand the rest of the night facing a wall. On the first night, Mr. Zhang's feet became very swollen from standing. During the day, Mr. Zhang and Mr. Liu were forced to sit on a plastic bench and were not allowed to stand up, but at night, they were forced to stand again. -
Mr. Wang Zhige, Blinded in His Left Eye Due to Torture, Arrested Again
2011-08-20Mr. Wang Zhige was arrested at his home on July 28th. At the time, Mr. Wang was sleeping after working the night shift. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, mobile phone, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. Mr. Wang is currently being held in the Yilan County Detention Centre. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. Mr. Wang has been detained and mistreated during the past twelve years. In 2005, he was tortured and force-fed by the Fangzheng County police, which resulted in blindness in his left eye. He later served three years in prison and was tortured in many different ways. -
Crimes Committed in the “Education and Transformation Ward” in Yangjiang Prison, Guangdong Province
2011-08-20There is an “Education and Transformation [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] Ward” in Yangjiang Prison, Guangdong Province. All Falun Gong practitioners detained in this prison are taken to this ward and tortured brutally, both mentally and physically. In this ward is a special group of inmates—the monitor inmates—that persecute practitioners both day and night under the supervision of prison guards. They beat, abuse, and torture practitioners at will. Typical forms of violence include: beating, kicking, twisting wrists and ankles, handcuffing behind the back and hanging up, choking, twisting the neck, blowing water into the mouth and nose, etc. When practitioners get injured or become disabled, prison guards cover up for the perpetrators and attribute it to the practitioner's former injuries or claim that the practitioner fell out of bed or in the toilet. -
Ms. Li Yushu Tortured Daily in Heilongjiang Women's Prison
2011-08-19Ms. Li Yushu, a 62-year-old practitioner from Mohe City, Heilongjiang Province, was sentenced to a 12-year prison term without due process in May 2002. She has suffered more than nine years of persecution in Heilongjiang Women's Prison. She was held in a small cell once and in an isolation cell six times. She has been resisting the persecution by hunger strike for almost seven years. She is emaciated now and suffers daily torture. Ms. Li recounted the torture she has suffered recently: "Guards kicked me, beat me and stomped on my body. They taped my mouth shut with duct tape and twisted my arms behind my back. They also cut off my shirt and trousers with scissors." -
Ms. Zhang Ziqin from Gulin County, Sichuan Province, Recounts Her Suffering
2011-08-19Ms. Zhang Ziqin is a 55-year-old practitioner. Here is her personal account of the persecution she has suffered: "At the Gulin County Detention Centre guards held me down and injected me with unknown drugs. Afterwards, I felt chills all over and twitched uncontrollably for a long time. They also force-fed me with unknown substances. A guard beat me so hard that my whole face was burning with pain." -
Older Police Officer Ms. Shui Li Detained in Nanjing Detention Centre
2011-08-19Ms. Shui Li is a police officer at the Nanjing City Pukou Prison. She has been practising Falun Gong for more than ten years, and was arrested on July 29th. She is now being held in the Nanjing Detention Centre. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, Ms. Shui has been arrested several times by police and has been persecuted in the Nanjing Gulou District Brainwashing Centre and the Nanjing Detention Centre. She was also detained at her workplace in Pukou Prison. Her phone was tapped and she has been monitored by her neighbours. She was often harassed by the local police officers and officials from the neighbourhood committee. -
Wu Zhifang of Qianxi County, Hebei Province Detained
2011-08-19The police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Zhifang at home on July 6th. She was then sentenced to one year of forced labour on July 15th and taken to the Kaiping Forced Labour Camp in Tangshan city without her family knowing. Ms. Wu, 40s, started practising Falun Gong in 1999 before the persecution began on July 20th. Towards the end of 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong. She was sent back by the National Security Team of Qianxi County, but was not detained because she was still breastfeeding at the time. -
Several Falun Gong Practitioners Detained in Jilin Province
2011-08-18Several Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed to be detained at Siping City Detention Centre in Jilin Province. Lin Liyan, Zhao Fenglan, and Wang Guizhen have been held for over three months, and family members have been denied visitation. They held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, demanding unconditional release. No further information has been released by the detection centre, even though the practitioners' lives are at risk. The only communication by detention centre employees has been to family members, demanding that they pay more money in fines. -
Daughter Living Outside China Urges Chinese Court to Stop the Trial of her Mother
2011-08-18The Shenbeixinqu Court in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province is scheduled to hold a trial of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Min. The police are currently monitoring Ms. Wang around the clock. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have persecuted Ms. Wang many times. She was at one time imprisoned and persecuted in Dabei Women's Prison in Liaoning Province. When Ms. Wang's daughter, who lives outside China, found out that her mother would face another trial, she publicly urged the personnel from the police station, the Procuratorate, and the court not to be deceived by the CCP's lies. She asked them to stop the trial and release her mother.
