A Little Girl Misses Her Father Who Is in a Forced Labour Camp

During a 20 minute visit, a father was separated from his wife and daughter by a glass wall. The communication line was cut before the child even got a chance to speak. After the visit, the little girl kept crying and asking her mother, "Why did daddy cut his hair so short? Why didn't he speak to me? Mum, could you make the glass go away?" Now she often cries out during nightmares, "Take the glass away! I want to talk to my daddy!" The child is Wang Xiaoqing and her father is Wang Fangpu. Mr. Wang, a Falun Gong practitioner who was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong and is now imprisoned in in the Chaoyang City Forced Labour Camp. He is forced to work nine hours a day making fireworks.

Older Sister Persecuted to the Point of Mental Disorder--Younger Sister Arrested

Ms. Li Chunlan, a Falun Gong practitioner in Tieling City, Liaoning Province, has been arrested and sent to a forced labour camp three times. She was persecuted to the point of a mental disorder at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp and has not been able to take care of herself since. Ms. Li Chunhong, her younger sister, was recently arrested and sent to Masanjia.

Ms. Zhu Qiuling Sentenced to Prison; Mr. Chen Yinru Awaiting Trial

Officials from Wuzhong District Court sentenced Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhu Qiuling to five years in prison in the afternoon on April 2nd, 2010. Two defence attorneys and their bags were searched before they could enter the courtroom. They were not allowed to touch upon certain issues, which were pre-determined by the Chinese Communist Party. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Yinru is currently being held at Suzhou City No.1 Detention Centre, awaiting trial in the Huqiu District Court.

Ms. Kan Jixiang Suffers Mental Collapse at Linyi City Brainwashing Centre

Ms. Kan Jixiang, a 48-year old Falun Gong practitioner, lives in Jinqianguan Village in Shandong Province. Police arrested her at the Linyi bus station in January 2010 and took her to a brainwashing centre under directions from the Linyi City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). Ms. Kan's husband went to visit her on March 2nd, 2010. She recognised him, but no one else. Her husband asked to bring her home, but Linyi City 610 Office agents denied his request. Previously, in 2002 police arrested Ms. Kan and subjected her to one year of forced labour. She was deprived of sleep at the labour camp and brainwashed with slander and lies day and night. She could not stand still because of the mental torment.

The Persecution of a Television Anchor and His Wife

Mr. Li Zhenjun and his wife were arrested, and sent to prison(s) and labour camp(s) since 1999. They were subjected to brutal beatings and forms of torture. In 1999 Mr. Li was fired at work for practising Falun Gong. In 2002 the police arrested Ms. Wang and took her to the Pingquan County Detention Centre. They savagely beat her during interrogation, interrogated her several times and brutally beat her each time. Police whipped her with a metal ruler and rammed her head against a wall until she bled from the nose and mouth, and her eardrums were shattered. She now has very poor hearing. She held a hunger strike, and the guards force-fed her five times.

Ms. Hao Bianyun Dies as a Result of Forced Injections

Ms. Hao Bianyun used to be a healthy and capable housewife and farmer. She became mentally disturbed and required full time care after she was held at the Xingtai Brainwashing Centre and injected with unidentified drugs six years ago. During her arrest several men dragged Ms. Hao from the house, covered her mouth, punched and kicked her, and threw her into the van. Her five-year-old daughter, crying and following her mother, was also thrown into the van. After a lengthy struggle in poor health, she finally died at the age of 43 on March 25th, 2010.

Mr. Lei Jingxiong, Who Was Almost Cremated Alive, Is Arrested Again

On June 28th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Lei Jingxiong was arrested by a policeman at the airport when he was on his way to a new job. Later, he was sent to the Xishui County Detention Centre. In 2010, Mr. Lei's family received a notice from Douyun Prison indicating that Mr. Lei had been sentenced to 8 years in prison. During the past ten years of persecution, Mr. Lei Jingxiong has been constantly harassed and tortured by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 2004, police had seemingly beaten Mr. Lei to death. As his body was about to be cremated in a funeral home, an officer discovered he was still alive and stopped the cremation. Mr. Lei was taken to a hospital, where he was again beaten. All the beatings caused his face to become disfigured.

Ms. Teng Weiqiang Has Been Imprisoned for Eight Years for Hanging Up a Banner

Mr. Teng Weiqiang, 33, was arrested for displaying a Falun Gong banner in February 2002 and then sentenced to ten years in prison. During his detention at the Baishan City Police Department, officers hung him up and covered his head with several plastic bags to choke him. He is currently imprisoned in Gongzhuling Prison. As a result of many years of torture, he looks like skin and bones. Guards repeatedly denied requests from his family to visit him and it has been four years since his mother has seen him.

I Suffered Brutal Torture in Hulan City Prison

After the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 20th, 1999, like thousands of practitioners, I distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, telling people about the beauty of Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. I also suffered from brutal persecution. On August 23rd, 2002, police arrested me. I was sentenced to four years in prison. Since I refused to renounce Falun Gong, guards ordered inmates to brutally torture me. Once, the inmates tied up my arms and legs and beat me. My ribs were broken, the muscles on my thigh were torn and the soles of my feet were all black. I was not even able to climb onto my bed. Another time, they burned my nose with lighters and beat my face; my face was distorted afterward. I was compelled to do forced labour, deprived of sleep and made to stand continuously for over eight hours.

Mr. Feng Guangyun, an Elderly Man from Daqing, Passed Away as a Result of Persecution

Mr. Feng Guangyun, who was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because he practised Falun Gong, passed away on February 6th, 2010. In May 2002, Mr. Feng was taken into custody by police, and was detained and persecuted at the Qiqihaer Railroad Detention Centre. Mr. Feng was sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp and sent to the notorious Daqing Forced Labour Camp. After he arrived there, he was physically and verbally abused on a daily basis, and he was also tortured. After leaving the forced labour camp, due to the physical and mental torture, Mr. Feng was extremely weak and became sick leading to his death. He was 73 years old.

Mr. Zhang Kunyang, 55, Dies in Sichuan Province

Mr. Zhang Kunyang worked in the coal mines for many years, and was sick with industrial pneumoconiosis. He started practising Falun Gong when there was no hope for him to survive. Soon after he began practising, his health greatly improved. On May 29th, 2006, police arrested many Falun Gong practitioners, including Mr. Zhang, because many Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution had been appearing in Nanjiang County. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to two years of imprisonment, and taken to the Wumaping Prison in Leshan City. He was inhumanly tortured there and forced to sign the statements to renounce practising Falun Gong against his will. The long term brutal mistreatment and harassment caused Mr. Zhang's family to blame him for all these sufferings. Mr. Zhang's silicosis recurred and developed into emphysema, and he died in July 2009.

Practitioners Mr. Shan Zhongxiang and Ms. Yan Xiuzhi, from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, Died as a Result of the Persecution

Two Falun Gong practitioners, an elderly man and an elderly woman, died as a result of the extended persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Ms. Yan Xiuzhi was 63 years old when she died. On July 22nd, 1999, just after the CCP began the persecution, Ms. Yan visited the provincial government to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She also went to Beijing in June and December of 2000 to tell the government that Falun Gong is good, but was arrested. Subsequently, the CCP authorities constantly visited Ms. Yan, harassed and pressured her. She passed away in mid-April of 2003.

Ms. Huang Songdong from Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province Arrested and Her Family Blackmailed

Ms. Huang Songdong, over 60, was sent to Nanchang Women's Forced Labour Camp for talking to people about Falun Gong. On March 5th, 2010, Ms. Huang was arrested, and she was only released after her son was blackmailed for 20,000 yuan. Ms. Huang was subjected to one and a half years of forced labour on March 11th, and was sent to Nanchang Forced Labour Camp. However, she was rejected for health reasons.

55-Year-Old Ms. Jia Shuhua Dies after Years of Persecution

Ms. Jia Shuhua passed away on March 25th, 2010 after years of persecution by the police. Ms. Jia, 55, benefited immensely after she started practising Falun Gong in the 1990s. She enjoyed her life, and treated others with kindness. In 2002, Ms. Jia was turned in to the police while telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Pingdu City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). She refused to give up her belief in Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance and was sentenced to two years of forced labour. Due to inhumane treatment in the Wangcun Women's Forced Labour Camp, she developed stomach problems. Soon she was in critical condition. In 2006, the police broke into her home, and took her to a brainwashing centre. Ms. Jia's condition continued to deteriorate leading to her recent death.

Woman Suspended By Handcuffs For Seven Days at Forced Labour Camp

In 2008, Ms. Liu Hong was imprisoned for practising Falun Gong. While incarcerated at Wangcun Women's Prison, she was brutally tortured and hung up by handcuffs, with only her toes touching the ground for seven days and nights. As a result, she almost lost the use of her hands. She recounts: "Guards intensified the persecution because I refused to be "transformed." They tightened the handcuffs on my wrists. In a few moments, my fingers swelled and felt like they were about to burst open. It felt as if tens of thousands of needles were pressing into them. It was extremely painful. Cui Hongwen released one handcuff so that I could write the statements to renounce practising Falun Gong. They finally let me down on September 12th, after seven days and nights."
