Mr. Zhao Bin Tortured to Death in Prison after Former Classmates from Taishan Medical College Report Him to the Police

After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Zhao Bin was arrested, tortured, and harassed. He was fired from his job because he refused to give up his belief. His wife also divorced him. Whenever he had a chance, he told people the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. As a result, Mr. Zhao was arrested on April 27th, 2012 and later sentenced to four years in prison. Within two months in the prison, he was tortured to death on October 19th, at the age of 58. -
Ms. Li Xiaoying Suffers Mental Collapse Due to Torture
2013-11-19Ms. Li Xiaoying is a kind and honest woman who was sentenced to a forced labour camp 12 years ago because she practised Falun Gong. Ms. Li was locked in a small cell, hung up by handcuffs, and beaten for 15 days. She was force-fed unknown drugs during her detention, which resulted in her having a mental disorder. After she was released, she improved after receiving medical treatment. However, officials from the local residential committee harassed and threatened her constantly, which has caused her mind to reach the point of total collapse. -
Female Teacher Faces Torture for Refusing to "Transform"
2013-11-19Gu Songhai, head of Heilongjiang Province 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), went to Liulu Brainwashing Centre in Qitaihe City on October 14th, 2013, to personally supervise the torture of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yumei. He ordered the guards to “make her suffer” if she refused to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. -
Award-Winning Music Teacher Arrested Again after Being Held in a Forced Labour Camp Four Times
2013-11-19Award-winning music teacher Mr. Ding Fadong was arrested on September 15th, 2013, while visiting another Falun Gong practitioner. Both practitioners are now in the Zhongning County Detention Centre. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began 14 years ago, Mr. Ding has been brutally persecuted for not giving up his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He was sentenced to forced labour four times, tortured, and fired from his job. His family has also suffered because of the persecution of Falun Gong. -
Family of Three Broken Apart by the Communist Regime
2013-11-19Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Yue has been missing since October 18th, 2013. His colleagues at the No. 7 Middle School, where he taught, did not see him come to work, and his family did not see him come home. According to witnesses, the supervisor of the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), Zhao Pengfei, visited the school on October 17th. The following day, Mr. Wang disappeared. Those familiar with the situation suspect that Mr. Wang has been arrested by Zhao. Mr. Wang's wife, Ms. Liu Yumei, has been detained at a brainwashing centre for over 40 days. -
Chongqing 610 Office Accelerates Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in September-October 2013
2013-11-19The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) established by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accelerated the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in September and October 2013 in Chongqing. According to incomplete statistics, Chongqing authorities have arrested, harassed, and imprisoned 66 practitioners in September and October this year. Fifty-four practitioners were arrested, had homes ransacked, or were taken to a brainwashing centre. Five were sentenced to prison terms during four trials, six practitioners were harassed, and two were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. -
Mother and Daughter Arrested Again for Telling People How Falun Gong Helped Them Regain Their Health
2013-11-19Ms. Zhao Fengxia and her mother Ms. Li Zhengying are both residents of Guanjian Town, Tongliang County in Chongqing City. Not long after they began to practise Falun Gong, a once blind Ms. Zhao was able to see again, and Ms. Li saw her numerous illnesses disappear. Having benefited tremendously from Falun Gong, both mother and daughter were determined to share their good news with everyone. However, they were detained on more than one occasion just for telling people about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhao and Ms. Li were recently arrested again on October 23rd, 2013 by police. -
A Corporate Manager in Critical Condition, His Associate Persecuted to Death
2013-11-18Mr. Zhao Bin, 58, was arrested in Shanghai and sentenced to four years in prison. He was persecuted to death just 46 days after being incarcerated in Tilanqiao Prison. He passed away on October 19th, 2013. Mr. Pang Guangwen, who was arrested at the same time as Mr. Zhao Bin began a hunger strike to protest the persecution, is currently in critical condition in the Shanghai Prison Hospital. He was kept tied to the bed and force-fed. His condition has continued to deteriorate, and he now vomits whatever he eats. Similar symptoms were experienced by other practitioners who were persecuted to death through suspected food poisoning. -
Mr. Han Jianping Brutally Beaten While Locked to the “Iron Chair”
2013-11-13On June 3rd, 2013, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Han Jianping was arrested by police. He was tortured and interrogated at Nongan Police Department. He recounts, "I was held in a dark room and locked onto an iron chair. The head of Domestic Security Division came in and asked, “Who made those banners in your home? Who moved those materials upstairs?” I refused to tell him anything. Then he slapped my face four or five times. Another officer tortured me. My hands were handcuffed behind my back. The young officer pushed my head to the ground and took off my trousers. They used a mop stick to hit my crotch so hard that it swelled as well. It was very painful." -
A Practitioner's Son Dying from a Brain Tumour, the 610 Office Continues to Persecute Him
2013-11-13Because Mr. Tian Fengcheng practises Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes him. Three years ago he was sentenced to prison. He wasn't allowed to visit his injured wife and sick son during that time. When Mr. Tian was released from prison on April 25th, 2013, he went home to a severely injured wife and a son with brain cancer. The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) ordered him to attend a brainwashing session, but because his son was severely ill, he didn't go. The 610 Office had him arrested again on September 16th, 2013. -
Imprisoned and Emaciated Practitioner on Hunger Strike Still Tortured
2013-11-13Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Jinku was sentenced by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to five years in prison. He is now in Hulan Prison in Harbin. He held a hunger strike and will not speak to protest this miscarriage of justice. His family went to the prison on October 10th, 2013, but Wang, a section chief of the prison, refused to let them visit him, because he refuses to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Mr. Zhang has become incontinent as a result of being force-fed as a form of torture, is extremely weak, and was put in the prison hospital. -
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Agents in Shanghai Employ Cunning Tactics to Force Falun Gong Practitioners to Undergo Brainwashing
2013-11-13The 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Shanghai has been arresting Falun Gong practitioners and taking them to brainwashing centres. To hide what is going on, they often change the location of the brainwashing centre. They also use deceptive means during the sessions. The Baoshan District 610 Office started a brainwashing session in mid September 2013 and called it a class on arranging flowers and cooking. The session actually includes activities like singing the songs that praised the Communist Party and watching videos that slandered Falun Gong. -
Prolonged Exposure to the Scorching Sun: a Form of Torture Employed by the Chinese Communist Party
2013-11-12In the hot summer, the sun burns like fire and temperatures in many regions in China are nearly 40 o C (about 104 o F) or higher. Falun Gong practitioners are exposed to the heat and scorching sun for long hours. This form of torture was seldom used in ancient times or today. However, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has created many variations of it for use in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and is not only used in prisons, forced labour camps, and detention centres, it is also widely employed in brainwashing facilities, as well as other places of detention.. -
Crimes at Masanjia Labour Camp Make International News Again
2013-11-12An SOS letter hidden in a package of Halloween decorations manufactured at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Northeast China recently made front page international news again. Mr. Zhang, the author of the SOS letter, was detained two and a half years in the labour camp. In his CNN interview, he described the slave labour at Masanjia as “an escape from the horrible violence.” Masanjia Labour Camp is notorious for the tortures it uses on Falun Gong practitioners. -
Prison Refuses to Cooperate with Lawyers Concerning Mr. Fang Zhengping's Death
2013-11-12Mr. Fang Zhengping from Xichang City, Sichuan Province, was persecuted to death at the age of 57 in the Yunnan Province No.1 Prison around June 2013. Mr. Fang was arrested in 2007. He was then sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Suijiang County Court. His parents have hired two lawyers to sue the prison and demand compensation from the state for their son's wrongful death. The prison authorities have refused to cooperate with the lawyers, obstructing their investigation of the case.
