Mr. Zhang Hongquan, a Practitioner from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, Persecuted to Death

Mr. Zhang Hongquan was arrested in November 2001 for speaking out for justice for Dafa, and was taken to the Dumeng County Detention Centre, where he was beaten by the police several times and began a hunger strike that lasted for more than ninety days to protest the persecution. The guard force-fed him chicken feed through a dirty tube and he lost control of his bodily functions. In 2002 Mr. Zhang Hongquan was sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. Owing to the continuous persecution he suffered over the years, a hole formed in his lung, but he was only released after his family made several requests. Nevertheless, Mr. Zhang Hongquan finally passed away on February 24th, 2007. -
The Torture and Harassment I Suffered at the Hands of the Communist Party of Huangyang, Henan Province
2007-03-12My name is Li Cuiying and I am 56 years old. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its head Jiang Zemin launched the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, I have been arrested four times without any legal process. I was arrested because I wouldn't renounce my belief and I appealed for justice for Falun Dafa and our Teacher [Teacher Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa]. I was tortured inhumanely. Once, when I was in detention with other practitioners, police put heavy ankle shackles on five of us and shackled us together. The shackles were so heavy that even a slight move would cause tremendous pain. We were forced to wear those shackles all day and night, even when we slept or relieved ourselves, for six weeks. -
Exposing the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners by State Security Agents in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province
2007-03-12Following orders from Jiang Zemin's and Luo Gan's followers, agents in this bureau constantly provide "secret information" to their upper level superiors and have instigated numerous arrests and harassment. Over the past several years, many sites producing leaflets exposing the persecution have been destroyed; more than ten practitioners have died as a result of torture; and a great number of practitioners have been sentenced to heavy prison terms, thrown into forced labour camps, tortured and disabled. Countless practitioners and their families were compelled to leave their homes to avoid further persecution. Many harmonious families were torn apart. The crimes the State Security spies have committed are shocking and terrifying. -
Mr. Zhang Guoli Was Persecuted to the Brink of Death at Dalian Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province
2007-03-11On February 14th, 2007, when Mr. Zhang Guoli walked into the courtyard of his home, unsteadily, with his clothes in his hands, his parents and elder brother came out from the house to receive him. They could hardly believe that standing in front of them was their beloved son and brother that they had been missing for many days. Mr. Zhang Guoli was so thin and disfigured that he was almost unrecognisable. The moment he stepped into the room, he fell down and lost consciousness. Zhang Guoli's parents and brother cried and ran over to hold him. owever, policeman Han Wei still said that they were not supposed to send Mr. Zhang Guoli home from Dalian Forced Labour Camp. -
Three of Mr. Cao Jiwei's Relatives Arrested by 610 Office Head When Requesting a Family Visit
2007-03-11On the afternoon of February 22nd, 2007, police arrested practitioners Mr. Li Zhenfang and Mr. Cao Jiwei. The police confiscated 5,800 yuan. Policeman Wang Jinshi cruelly beat Mr. Cao Jiwei. He pulled his hair, slapped his face, and stepped on his hand and ground it into the gravel. At about 9:00 a.m. on March 1st, Mr. Cao's elderly mother, his wife, and his elder sister went to the home of Wang Fucai, the head of the 610 Office, requesting a family visit with Mr. Cao Jiwei. Wang did not open the door. Instead he called police officer Dai Chunjie from the Political and Security Section. Dai Chunjie beat and arrested them. -
Practitioners in the Binhai Development Zone of Weifang City, Shangdong Province Were Persecuted
2007-03-11On October 12th, 1999, Ms. Li went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested and imprisoned at the Huairou District Detention Centre. Police officers beat her face with leather belts, forced her to stand for long hours, used the torture method "flying" (she was hung up with both arms and legs stretched wide), and locked her in a small dark cell. She was then taken to Chongwen District Detention Centre, where officers Liu and Li shocked her with electric batons. On November 19th, she was taken back to the Haihua Public Security Sub-bureau and forced to sit on the cold cement from the minute she arrived. Ms. Li spent the night with her hands cuffed to a chair. On November 20th, officers Zhao Xinlu and Wang Yaojie claimed that she was "disturbing the execution of the law" and called her a criminal. -
Mr. Xie Mingyi in Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
2007-03-11Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xie Mingyi was sentenced to eight years in prison. On February 13th, 2007, Xie Mingyi's wife received a notice that Xie Mingyi was secretly sentenced for "violating the execution of law." He would not accept the sentence and has already appealed to the higher court. The CCP's arrest and sentencing of Dafa practitioner Xie Mingyi greatly pained his family and friends. Villagers who knew the truth got very angry and all spoke out for justice, "He did nothing wrong." Xie Mingyi's wife takes care of their two young children while struggling to maintain a normal life. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Luan Fusheng in Critical Condition, Yet Qi County Prison (Shanxi Province) Refuses to Release Him
2007-03-10On July 7th, 2003, a Taiyuan City Court sentenced 50-year-old Mr. Luan Fusheng to eleven years in prison because he follows the principles of "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance." Mr. Luan Fusheng did not believe he committed any crimes, so he appealed to the upper level court in Taiyuan City. The middle level court rejected his appeal. After long-term physical torture and mental abuse, Mr. Luan Fusheng developed many diseases. He has been sent to emergency at the hospital three times since June 2005. Currently, his life is again in critical condition. His family insists on his release for medical attention, yet the prison authorities refused, using the excuse "Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to be released for medical attention." -
Crimes against Falun Gong Practitioners Committed by Officials and the Police in Cangxi County, Sichuan Province
2007-03-10In August 2001, practitioner Ms. Yan Zongfang was arrested and taken to the Longshan Police Station for distributing Falun Gong materials. They then sent her to the detention centre for persecution. She was handcuffed to a metal bed for 57 days, with her arms and legs severely stretched in four directions. She had to relieve herself on the bed. The police forbade her to take a shower. During the hot summer she became smelly and itchy. She also had constipation for several days. Her hands and feet were swollen and her fingers were numb. She was in much pain. She demanded to be set free of the bed. Police Station chief He Yongfu responded viciously, "A killer can escape from here, but not you! We have to keep you handcuffed on this metal bed until you are sentenced to a labour camp." -
Stories of Five Practitioners from Hunan Province Who Were Given Toxic Drugs by their Captors in Labour Camps and Prisons
2007-03-10610 Officers arrested Mr. Peng in January 2001. The officers forcefully fed him some unknown toxin, and the resulting pain made him roll back and forth. When they sent him to the detention centre, he was totally disfigured, black and blue and swollen all over. He couldn't even be recognised. On winter nights, they poured cold water on him and then made him lie on the ground for a few hours. They squashed his toes with the leg of a chair and forced him to kneel on the ground. -
How the Guards in the Eighth Squad of Liaoning Women's Prison Torture Practitioners
2007-03-10The guards used their entire bag of dirty tricks on practitioner Ms. Li Chunxiao: they ordered the most vicious criminal prisoners to watch her, did not allow her to sleep, poured cold water on her, cuffed her hands behind her back, and placed her inside a small box in which she could not even move her neck and had difficulty breathing. Ms. Li had to spend so much time in the box that she could no longer move her head or hands, and her eyes started to protrude and were bruised. She was tortured in this way until she was scarcely recognisable as a human being, and everybody who saw her was appalled. -
Ms. Xu Jiling Suffered a Mental Collapse Due to Torture
2007-03-09Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Jiling is currently detained in Shandong Province First Women's Labour Camp and has suffered a mental collapse. The camp brutally tortures practitioners with 14-15 hours of hard labour every day. The main product at the labour camp is stuffed animals. Each detained practitioner must finish 20-30 per day, otherwise points are deducted, which results in extended detention. Practitioners are exhausted every day, and some cannot bend their fingers. On January 22nd, 2007, four to five guards took turns beating one female practitioner with a thick wooden club until the club broke in half. -
Graduate Student Mr. Hong Wei Is Suffering Intense Persecution in Prison

After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20th, 1999, because Mr. Hong Wei persisted in practising Falun Dafa, he was repeatedly detained and subjected to brainwashing attempts. He was an important target, on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) blacklist. In 2001, Hong Wei was suspended from his postgraduate studies . In 2002, Mr. Hong was again arrested. After having been detained without charge for more than one year, he was secretly sentenced to ten years in prison. -
Savage Brainwashing Attempted at Hebei Provincial Prison for Women
2007-03-09In May 2006, the Hebei Provincial Women's Prison created a so-called "attack team." At first they formed teams comprised of four "collaborators", to surround Dafa practitioners and spread rumours. If practitioners resisted, they were attacked. When practitioners refused to be "reformed", their next step was to carry out the so-called "stewing the eagle," by taking turns torturing Dafa practitioners day and night, and depriving them of sleep. -
All Six Family Members Imprisoned, Ms. Liu Guifang Died
2007-03-09The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) extorted a large amount of cash fines from Ms. Liu Guifang family. Five members were sentenced to prison or forced labour terms. Her eldest daughter, Ms. Liu Furong, was unlawfully sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Liu Guifang herself was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour and sent to Xinhua Forced Labour Camp in Mianyang City. After the labour camp refused to admit her, she was detained in the Jian'ge County Detention Centre and further mistreated. Because of the long term persecution, Ms. Liu became very frail. She died on June 10th, 2006.
