Finland: At the Beginning of the New Year, Dafa Practitioners Strive to Do the Three Things Well
2005-01-12Practitioners from Helsinki and other cities in Finland held a retreat from the 6th to the 8th of January 2005. They studied the Falun Gong teachings, shared experiences and insights, and practised the exercises together. A peaceful appeal was held at the Chinese Embassy calling for an immediate end to the campaign of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners.

2005-01-11On the 8th of January, Spanish practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in Sun Square in Madrid city centre to show what is happening to practitioners in China. People were astonished that such draconian methods of torture are still being used. Many kind-hearted Spanish people lined up to sign a petition calling for Jiang Zemin to be brought to justice.

Ukraine: Film Portraying Persecution Against Falun Gong Practitioners at the Human Rights International Cinema Festival
2005-01-11The movie “Sandstorm” was shown at the Human Rights International Cinema Festival. On the 15th of December, a national Ukraine TV channel screened a brief report about “Sandstorm”. Scenes from the film depicting the torture used against Falun Gong practitioners were also shown.

Bulgaria: Practitioners Appear on a National State-run TV Show and Expose the Persecution in China
2005-01-10The presenter asked why Falun Dafa is persecuted in China. The practitioners explained that after estimating the number of practitioners to be 70 to 100 million in 1999, the former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin personally ordered a campaign of persecution despite the disagreement of the other Politburo members...The practitioners went on to talk about how the Chinese Communist Party has never showed any regard for human life and has continually persecuted and oppressed the Chinese people since it came into power.

Germany: International Human Rights Day in Bremen
2005-01-10Live demonstrations of the torture methods used to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their beliefs graphically showed the daily horrors suffered by practitioners in China. Passersby were shocked by the brutality of the scenes and the depiction of torture victims on the posters and banners was able to touch even the most hardened of hearts.

The Media Reports on a Famous Beijing Lawyer’s Appeal for Falun Gong
2005-01-10Hong Kong's Ming Bao reported that Mr. Gao wrote an open letter to Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Chinese People's Congress. He said in the letter that he had received many appeals and letters from Falun Gong practitioners who were tortured in prisons or labour camps. Mr. Gao pointed out that the local government abused Falun Gong practitioners by imprisoning them in labour camps. He said that he "felt extreme sorrow" in his letter to Wu Bangguo.

Over twenty Falun Gong practitioners have already been put into prison for the same reason. “Reporters Without Borders” believes that Falun Gong practitioners have the right to use the Internet to condemn the violence against them in a country where there is no freedom of information.
