I also obtained the sympathy and support of some members of parliament in Scotland. Now many people know about the matter of my passport being unreasonably refused for extension by the Chinese consulate. -
Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Participate in a Foreign Culture Festival in Heidelberg
2004-06-19Falun Gong practitioners were invited by a German-Chinese cultural exchange association to take part in the annual Foreign Culture Festival held in Heidelberg University Square on June 5th. A dance troupe made up of Falun Gong practitioners performed two ribbon dances. In a booth below the stage, people could have their names written in calligraphy. -
Agence France Presse: Rights Groups Protest As China Calls Off Visit By UN Torture Expert
2004-06-19'Human rights groups accused China of failing in its commitment to abide by its international obligations after a visit by a UN human rights expert dealing with torture was called off. The Chinese government asked for more time to prepare for the two-week trip this month by UN special rapporteur Theo van Boven in view of the different authorities and regions involved, the United Nations said in a statement.' -
Norway: The Seed of Compassion Takes Root in Norwegian Pupils’ Hearts
2004-06-18May the 26th 2004 was a special date for the teachers and pupils of a primary school in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. Four year old Dafa practitioner Fadu and her mother Dai Zhizhen, also a practitioner, had been invited. They came to tell everyone Fadu's story and also teach the children how to make lotus flowers with coloured paper. -
Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Participate in the Culture Festival Parade in Bielefeld
2004-06-18On June the 5th 2004, the German city of Bielefeld held its annual Culture Festival Parade. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to take part. Nearly all the people of Bielefeld came to watch the performances by different organisations. They continuously applauded the practitioners and asked for flyers. Before the parade finished, ten thousand flyers had been handed out. -
Finland: Falun Gong Practitioners' Participation Enriched the Annual Helsinki Day Event

Romania: Policemen Violate People's Basic Freedom during Chinese President's Visit
2004-06-17Spokesperson of the Romanian Falun Dafa Association Dana Betlevy told reporters that on June the 13th and 14th, Falun Gong practitioners were harassed, closely monitored and followed by officers from National Security Department and police. We strongly condemn Jiang Zemin regime’s using economic and other benefits as a bait to force the Romanian government break the rules of democracy and basic human rights such as freedom of expression. They also stressed that the Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai, who is also on official visit in Budapest, has been the subject of lawsuits in countries around the world for his crimes against humanity. They also gave a gift of beautiful lotus flowers made from coloured paper to media personnel they talked to. -
United Kingdom: Introducing Falun Dafa and Revealing the Facts of the Persecution During the Glasgow Festival
2004-06-16On Saturday June 12th and Sunday June 13th, Falun Dafa practitioners from all over the UK took part in the Glasgow Festival. On Saturday, practitioners displayed the tranquil Falun Gong exercises, explained the benefits of the practice to an audience in a local Library. On Sunday the practitioners performed traditional Chinese dancing and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. -
China’s Ambassador to Ireland declares that Liu Feng can return to Ireland to resume his studies
2004-06-15On May the 11th 2004, the Chinese Ambassador to Ireland Sha Hailin held a meeting with the Irish Students Union and declared that Liu Feng, a Falun Gong practitioner, can return to Ireland to resume his studies. Liu Feng was arrested after he wrote a letter to the Chinese Premier when he returned to China for Christmas break in 1999; he was rearrested in June 2002 just before returning to Ireland whilst shopping and was subsequently sent to a forced labour camp. -

2004-06-15On June the 11th, German practitioners appealed at the Chinese Consulate in Munich to urge the unconditional release of Beijing Dafa practitioner Chen Jie, who was a staff member of Beijing Youan Hospital’s Laboratory Centre. On June the 2nd 2004, she was illegally arrested at home again by Shijingshan District’s police, and sent to a brainwashing centre. -

Radio France International: The Taiwan Legislature Passes a Resolution Appealing to Mainland China to Stop Persecuting Falun Gong
2004-06-14On June the 8th, 126 bipartisan Taiwan legislators signed their names to introduce a resolution calling on the Chinese authorities to immediately release the arrested and imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners and to stop persecuting Falun Gong. On the same day Taiwan legislature passed the resolution and submitted it to the Executive for further research.
