  • European Human Rights Organisations Commemorate the Fifteenth Anniversary of the "6.4" Incident and Condemn the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners

    The infringements of the freedoms of speech, assembly and information are still rampant in China; since the latter half of 1990s, the number of those subjected to labour 're-education' and the death penalty has not decreased. Falun Gong practitioners, followers of Christianity, work union leaders and those who criticise the government on the Internet have been brutally persecuted, the report was cited as saying.
  • Ukraine: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in an Appeal to China to End Human Rights Violations

    On June the 6th 2004, Amnesty International took part in activities at the Ukrainian Chinese Embassy, marking the fifteenth anniversary of the 'June 4th Incident' and appealing to China to stop abusing human rights. People from various human rights groups participated in the campaign and the Kiev Falun Gong Association of Ukraine were also invited to take part.
  • Germany: Chen Gang Appeals to Rescue his Sister Illegally Detained in China

    German Falun Gong practitioner Chen Gang wrote to the European Commission, the German Government at all levels, international human rights organisations, the United Nations and various media organisations to appeal for the rescue of his elder sister Chen Jie, who is a Falun Gong practitioner and was illegally arrested on June the 2nd. He also urged the international community to pay attention to China’s on-going trampling of human rights and freedom of belief.
  • The Swedish People are Aware of the Human Rights Violations in China

    Recently, Swedish radio, TV and several newspapers have issued news about June the 4th, human rights in China and the atmosphere in Tiananmen Square. The Swedish National Newspaper and Dagens Nyheter published a long article, which detailed how far we are from a democratic regime in China. The article discusses the tighter and stronger controls on freedom of speech, belief, and democracy, through the illustration of the crackdown on June the 4th incident and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
  • Once Again the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners Liu Feng and Yang Fang is Brought to the Attention of the Irish People

    When the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited Ireland in May, Falun Gong practitioners staged a peaceful appeal by practising exercises, and appealed for bringing Jiang Zemin, who is the driving force behind the persecution of Falun Gong, to justice. Meanwhile, practitioners called for the release of two practitioners from Liaoning province in China, Liu Feng and Yang Fang, and for their safe return to Ireland to continue their studies.
  • The Book Falun Gong is Officially Published in Bulgarian

    The book Falun Gong was officially published in the Bulgarian language and distributed in Bulgaria today. It was also sold to the public at a book exhibition held in the capital city of Sofia. Since the Jiang regime in China initiated a crackdown on Falun Gong in July 1999, the interest in Falun Gong from people all over the world has grown. Not only are there people in over sixty countries practising Falun Gong but the numbers practising in each country have also increased.
  • Spain: The Chinese Embassy Refuses to Re-issue My Passport

    Under intimidation by the evil Jiang group, the Chinese embassies and consulates do not have the effect of protecting their own citizens, instead, they become institutions which carry out terror tactics as ordered by the Jiang group. Some officials wrongly assess the situation at home and abroad, and abuse their political power by ignoring the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners.

    From the 28th to the 30th of May 2004, the second Ukraine Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held in Ukraine's capital city of Kiev. Through this Fa conference and its related activities, many people come to learn about Falun Dafa and the brutal persecution against the 100 million people who practise it in China.
  • Several Finnish Newspapers Report on the Persecution of Falun Gong

    On May the 13th, the Finnish Falun Dafa Association held a press conference in Helsinki about human rights in China. Many newspapers were represented as well as the Finnish news agency and radio news. The following day, newspapers all over Finland reported on important current human rights issues including the persecution of Falun Gong.
  • A French Deputy’s Letter to the Minister of Domestic Affairs

    In January 2004, Jiang's regime, who are responsible for the brutal persecution of Falun Gong, lied to and exerted pressure on the French police who were blind to the truth. The police were instructed to harass Falun Gong practitioners. Thereafter, Falun Gong practitioners took the initiative to tell the truth to people at all levels of society, demanding those involved to admit administrative responsibility and apologise.

Separate hearings organised by the Finnish Parliament's human rights group and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were held successfully in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. A news briefing for the media was also held. Speakers included Falun Gong practitioner Ms Jane Dai from Australia and the executive director of the Association for Asian Research, Mr. Erping Zhang,
  • Letter to the Editor: My Beloved Motherland, When Can We Have True Freedom?

    I called my classmate in China just now, and was told that one of my best friends was imprisoned and eventually tortured to death simply because of practicing Falun Gong. I am not a Falun Gong practitioner, and don't have much knowledge of Falun Gong. But I do know my best friend very well, he was a truly righteous and honest person. I really cannot understand and rationalise why China would even regard having a belief as illegal. I feel really very sorry about it. My beloved motherland, when can we have true freedom?
  • United Kingdom: Final Day of the 2004 Scotland Car Tour

    On the final day of the 2004 Scotland Car Tour, the four Falun Dafa practitioners taking part in the tour visited one of Scotland’s best-known cities: Glasgow. The practitioners handed out leaflets in the city centre. Many people were interested in finding out more about Falun Gong and were keen to learn the exercises. One old Chinese man told the practitioners that he had the Falun Gong books at home and that he already knew about the lawsuits against Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin.

    While Mrs. Wang was practicing the sitting meditation on campus at Germersheim, she was afraid that few of her classmates could imagine the situation of practitioners after Falun Gong was announced to be illegal on July 22nd, 1999. Although Falun Gong has no political objectives, practitioners were still arrested and detained in Labour Re-education Camps, prisons, and psychiatric hospitals, where they were shocked by electric batons, brainwashed, raped and abused by torture.

    'LONDON (EFGIC) – With a visit to China planned at the end of June, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture’s latest report highlights the torturing of Falun Gong practitioners there. Of the 115 countries covered, China received by far the most ink in the 420-page report. Of over 130 cases of reported torture and abuse in China, approximately 100 of them were perpetrated against Falun Gong practitioners.'
