United Kingdom: Final Day of the 2004 Scotland Car Tour
2004-06-05On the final day of the 2004 Scotland Car Tour, the four Falun Dafa practitioners taking part in the tour visited one of Scotland’s best-known cities: Glasgow. The practitioners handed out leaflets in the city centre. Many people were interested in finding out more about Falun Gong and were keen to learn the exercises. One old Chinese man told the practitioners that he had the Falun Gong books at home and that he already knew about the lawsuits against Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. -
Report from German Newspaper Rheinpfalz: A Lady Who Upholds Compassion and Truthfulness
2004-06-05While Mrs. Wang was practicing the sitting meditation on campus at Germersheim, she was afraid that few of her classmates could imagine the situation of practitioners after Falun Gong was announced to be illegal on July 22nd, 1999. Although Falun Gong has no political objectives, practitioners were still arrested and detained in Labour Re-education Camps, prisons, and psychiatric hospitals, where they were shocked by electric batons, brainwashed, raped and abused by torture. -
EFGIC: United Nations’ Rapporteur on Torture Highlights China, Falun Gong Ahead of Planned Visit
2004-06-04'LONDON (EFGIC) – With a visit to China planned at the end of June, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture’s latest report highlights the torturing of Falun Gong practitioners there. Of the 115 countries covered, China received by far the most ink in the 420-page report. Of over 130 cases of reported torture and abuse in China, approximately 100 of them were perpetrated against Falun Gong practitioners.' -
United Kingdom: 2004 Scotland Car Tour continues to Meet Many Supportive People
2004-06-04Four UK Falun Gong practitioners have been on a week long car tour of Scottish cities since Sunday to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong. On Wednesday the 2nd of June, the car tour reached the city of Dundee. People were very supportive of practitioners who are suffering in China. 2004-06-04'According to a report by the Falun Dafa Information Centre, the Chicago Superior Court is to decide whether Jiang Zemin, the ex-chairman of China, is exempt from the charges against him. Groups such as Falun Dafa have charged Jiang Zemin with crimes of cruel torture, genocide, and crimes against humanity. The Falun Dafa Information Centre appealed to Falun Gong practitioners worldwide to go to every Chinese Embassy on this day.' -
