  • Young Wife and Child Left Heartboken as 30 year old Mr. Wang Dayuan Beaten to Death in Harbin First Prison

    Mr. Wang Dayuan, 30 years old, was a teacher at the Computer Science and Technology Institute of Harbin Industry University. In November of 2002, the police unlawfully arrested him and ransacked his home. He received an eight-year prison term to be served at Harbin First Prison. He was tortured to death on April 5, 2004. The prison leaders tried to shift responsibility by saying that three criminal inmates beat Mr. Wang to death. We all know that the criminal inmates would not dare to commit such a crime without being ordered to by the police. The unexpected sad news brought Mr. Wang's family enormous pain. The young wife, young child, and elderly parents can no longer see their most beloved one.

    Slovakian Falun Gong practitioners visited more than 100 Slovak cities and towns to deliver information about the persecution of Falun Gong in China during Easter 2004. As the practitioners put up information posters, passers-by stopped to find out more. After learning the truth, they also expressed their opposition to this persecution.

    'Seventy million people are being persecuted, and brutally so. About 100 000 practitioners have been put in jail: women, people any age…There are over 800 documented cases of people who have been tortured to death, but it talks for itself: the real number is much higher. They also try to force the practitioners to give up their belief, to sign statements; they send them to brain washing classes and forced labour camps. It is a very, very sad situation.'
  • French MPs Appeal to Investigate the Illegal Arrest of Falun Gong Practitioners

    After Falun Gong practitioners were detained arbitrarily in Paris due to pressure from the Jiang regime’s lies, they decided to contact all MPs in France to tell them about this incident that violated human rights in France.   • Germany: Information Day in Nuremburg

    In Nuremburg, people watched a demonstration of the five Falun Gong exercises by practitioners from northern Germany. In China, those who practise these exercises could be be sent to labour camps, tortured by various means and force-fed while on hunger strike. Even worse, they may be killed as a result of the persecution. Falun Gong, a peaceful cultivation practice, has become widely popular the world. Many practitioners in Germany have benefited, so they try to help people understand this persecution.

    If you saw the performance given by the European ‘Coming for You’ Choir at The Inaugural Chinese New Year Global Gala in New York this year, you probably remember Haroldo’s excellent performance as conductor.   • RFA: International Human Rights Association Passes a Resolution Condemning the Chinese Government's Human Rights Abuses

    The annual general meeting of the International Human Rights Association, which is based in Germany, was held in Frankfurt. Several representatives from China and Hong Kong were invited to attend to report on China's human rights situation. Mr. Wu Hongda, a Chinese human rights activist, as well as persecuted Falun Gong practitioners were also invited to address the meeting.     On April the 15th, when the Chinese Foreign Minister visited Sweden, practitioners gathered in front of the Swedish Parliament, appealed for an end of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, told the truth about the persecution to the people passing by, and demanded that those responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners be brought to justice.
  • Geneva: Zhang Cuiying Files a Petition against Jiang Zemin to the United Nations Human Rights Commission

    At 3pm on April the 7th 2004, renowned Chinese Australian artist and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Cuiying filed a petition to the United Nations human Rights Commission via human rights attorney Mr. Christ Nyst. The petition is against Jiang Zemin who initiated the persecution against Falun Gong in China. This is the first case filed by an individual to the United Nations on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
  • Special Forum Entitled 'Slavery Economy in China’s Labour Camps' is Held in Geneva

    The 60th UN Human Rights Commission is taking place in Geneva at the moment. A joint action organisation, consisting of international and Swiss NGOs, is seeking to carry China to a real democracy. The organisation's first special forum was held at “Family Society” in Geneva: "The Slave Economy in China's Labour Camps".
  • UK: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate and Perform in the Edinburgh Easter Parade

    The Edinburgh Easter Parade has become a special attraction during the Edinburgh Spring Festival and attracts many people to come and take a look. Falun Gong practitioners have been invited twice to take part in the parade. On April 11th, performances by Falun Gong practitioners were warmly welcomed by local people.
  • Exposing the Persecution of Falun Gong in the Chinese Educational System During the Annual Meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission

    On April the 6th, during the annual meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission (UNHRC), the World Women's Organisation (USA) staged a seminar on Human Rights in the Chinese educational system. World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) president John Jaw, Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Ming and Australian human rights lawyer Christopher Nyst were invited to this seminar.
