    Many Chinese people visit Irkutsk. Most go to the shopping square downtown. In the beginning, they were not very interested in the truth-clarification materials that we had placed in the shops, but now it is much better. Most are willing to take the newspapers and Video-CDs that explain the truth about Falun Gong. We also hang up banners reading “Falun Dafa is good”, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance” and “Falun Dafa will bring you a Beautiful Future.”

  • EFGIC: 30 Torture and Severe Abuse-related Deaths of Falun Gong Practitioners Reported in February

    LONDON (EFGIC) – During the month of February 2004, details of 30 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in China were uncovered despite a continued black-out maintained by Chinese authorities on information about Falun Gong-related cases. Many of the deaths occurred in the past few months, while some were deaths from 2002 and 2001 that have only recently been uncovered.
  • French MP Suggests an Investigation of the Paris Incident

    The Celebration of the Chinese New Year in Paris this February was marked by the harassment of Falun Gong practitioners by the French police, who were under pressure from the Chinese government. A French Falun Gong practitioner wrote a letter to his MP. The MP Mr. Alain Marleix replied and suggested that the incident be investigated. Mr. Marleix immediately forwarded the practitioner’s letter to the president of UMP, his political party, and suggested an investigation of this incident. He also expressed his concern to the relevant departments.
  • Swiss Members of Parliament sent Speeches to the Falun Gong Anti-Persecution Press Conference in Geneva

    On March the 15th, Mr. Ueli Leuenberger, member of the Swiss Federal Parliament, and Ms. Maria Roth-Bernasconi, councillor of Geneva State, sent speeches to the anti-persecution press conference held by Falun Gong practitioners at the Places Des Nations. In Mr. Leuenberger’s letter, he indicated his support for practitioners’ efforts to promote the value of human rights in China.
  • Poland: Falun Gong Practitioner’s Painting Exhibition Brings Brilliance to Ancient Warsaw

    At the beginning of March, Ms Zhang Cuiying, a well-known artist of traditional Chinese painting from Australia, held a two-day exhibition in the Polish capital. MP Paul Poslus made an opening speech at the exhibition. Many representatives of the media, including Polish National Television, TVP, RMF-FM radio, the Polish Daily and Journal, reported on the exhibition.

    On the 14th of March, the eve of the United Nations Human Rights Commission, the streets of Geneva were busy with people despite continuous rain. From afar, I heard the sound of singing. Following the voices, I found a wonderful street-concert taking place in the rain. The song “Coming For You” attracted many residents, tourists and representatives participating in the Human Rights Commission.

    At first they gave an introductory class in which they demonstrated the exercises and told inmates about Falun Dafa and how in 1999, China’s former President Jiang Zemin banned the most popular qigong-practice in China’s history as he was jealous and afraid of losing people’s hearts, hearts that were his by fear and terror. The inmates could hardly believe the harsh situation for illegally detained practitioners in Chinese prisons.
  • Finland: Appeal at the Chinese Embassy to bring the Chief Criminals to Justice

    On March the 22nd 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Helsinki appealed at the Chinese Embassy calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China and for the chief criminals responsible for instigating this atrocity to be brought to justice. Legal action has already been taken against them in several countries.
  • Radio France Internationale: The World Psychiatric Association goes to Beijing to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong

    'Mr. Zhang Jianping, spokesperson for Falun Gong in Paris, has faxed us the news that a delegation from the World Psychiatric Association will depart for Beijing on the 4th of April 2004 to investigate the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners inside China’s psychiatric hospitals. The persecution allegedly takes place under the directives of Chinese officials.'
  • Sweden: Promoting Falun Gong in Uddevalla

    Recently, Swedish Falun Gong practitioners held an activity in the small but beautiful city of Uddevalla to let the local people know about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution against the practice, which has been happening for almost five years in China. Practitioners handed out flyers and collected petition signatures from passers by.

  • Message from German Lawyer at a Rally in Karlsruhe City Centre

    On Saturday March the 6th, more than 50 Falun Gong practitioners from Karlsruhe and the surrounding cities held a rally in the Market Square in Karlsruhe city. They let people know about progress in the criminal indictment filed in the German Federal Procuratorate in Karlsruhe against the former Chinese President Jiang and his accomplices.
