2005-02-11CHICAGO: Attorneys for Falun Gong practitioners filed an appeal Monday in the U.S. Supreme Court in a civil lawsuit against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. He is charged with torture, crimes against humanity, and genocide in connection with the persecution of Falun Gong he initiated in July 1999. This case raises fundamental legal issues in U.S. law and in the relationship of U.S. law to international law.
