  • Mr. Jiang Hong's Family Persecuted in Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province

    Mr. Jiang Hong, 41, is a Falun Gong practitioner in Huayang Town, Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province. His wife, Wang Haixia, his father, Jiang Mingtai, and his mother, Wu Minhua, are all Falun Gong practitioners. In the past ten years, Mr. Jiang's family has been persecuted several times. In 1999, Mr. Jiang Hong, Wang Haixia, and Wu Minhua, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and were arrested by officers from the Huayang Town Police Station, Shuangliu County. Jiang Hong was sentenced to three and a half years of forced labour. He was beaten up by prisoners and guards in Deyang Prison. He was left out in the direct sun and was forced to work many hours. His front teeth were knocked out by prison guards.
  • Ms. Zhang Ying Tortured in a Detention Centre in Shanghai

    Ms. Zhang Ying has been on a hunger strike for 30 days to protest her arrest and interrogation with torture. She was brutally force fed while her four limbs were tied to a bed. She was very weak and could not stand up. The Changning District Police Station arrested her. Her family has called for help to rescue her. Ms. Zhang told her lawyer that she was interrogated with torture. Her lawyer has written a legal document based on her account and sent it to the Discipline Inspection Department in the Public Security Bureau and Judicial Disciplinary Department in the Procuratorate to request an investigation.
  • Shenyang City: Shenhe Public Security Police Arrest Practitioners

    Under orders from Liaoning Province Police Headquarters, Public Security police from Shenhe District Police Department in Shenyang City arrested more than ten Falun Gong practitioners in September 2009. Using techniques such as stalking, waiting in the dark, and using violence and a black hood, they arrested the practitioners. Practitioner Ms. Tu is now being held at the Shenyang Detention Centre, and Ms. Wang at a brainwashing centre called "Shenyang Legal Education School". Both of them started hunger strikes to demand their unconditional release.
  • Several Falun Gong Practitioners from Nanjing Fourteenth Research Institute, Jiangsu Province Persecuted

    Practitioner Ms. Xie Yanmin is a senior engineer for the Nanjing Fourteenth Research Institute. She was arrested at her hotel during a business trip to Beijing in August 2009. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials put special markings on practitioners' identification cards while they were replacing everyone's card. When Ms. Xie used her identification card to check in at the hotel, the police were notified. Soon after, police arrived at the hotel and ransacked her room. They found Falun Gong materials in her laptop. They took her away and her whereabouts are now unknown, only that she has been sentenced to two years at a forced labour camp in Beijing
  • Mr. Wang Guanghui, 62, from Hunan Province Dies as a Result of Persecution

    After July 20th, 1999, when the persecution began, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) media produced an endless stream of propaganda to slander Falun Gong. Facing pressure from every direction, Mr. Wang Guanghui, 62, did not waver or diminish his belief. He persisted in practising Falun Gong. As a result, he was detained four times and his home was searched many times. He was severely injured physically and mentally. As a result, Mr. Wang fell ill and was hospitalized, and he passed away on the night of September 22nd, 2009.
  • Li Yong from Xianning City, Hubei Province, Detained and in Critical Condition

    On August 17th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Yong was beaten by three local security police officers after they saw him distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. After they beat him, they took him to the Henggou Police Station. On August 18th, Henggou police officers and the Public Security Bureau of Xianan Police Department detained Mr. Li, who had already been tortured and had wounds all over his body, in the Xianan District Detention Centre. To protest the persecution, Mr. Li went on hunger strike. As a result of his silent protest, he was force-fed and sentenced to a forced labour camp for one year.
  • Ms. Su Wei Arrested Again After Enduring Torture at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    Due to her Falun Gong practice and faith in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, Beijing practitioner Ms. Su Wei has been arrested and persecuted by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials on several occasions. Ms. Su was detained twice in forced labour camps, and endured inhuman torture at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Guards used a vicious and cruel punishment, being "Hung Up", on Ms. Su and other practitioners. This torture is just like "being split by five horses"; after they were handcuffed, their hands were spread apart, then locked to the leg of one of the two beds. Then, two male guards forcefully pulled each of the two beds apart in opposite directions, until the practitioners' arms couldn't be stretched any more. On September 11th, 2009, Ms. Su was arrested again, and currently is detained at Beijing's Chaoyang Detention Centre.
  • Ms. Zhu Hailing Sent to Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Zhu Hailing, a Falun Gong practitioner, and her three sisters from Yongji County in Jilin Province were arrested and their home ransacked on September 15th, 2009. Her three sisters were released, but Ms. Zhu was sentenced to one year of forced labour. Ms. Zhu's young brother, Mr. Zhu Boyuan, who is handicapped and bedridden, asked the police, "Do you have a search-warrant and the legal documents? If you don't, it is illegal for you to search our home." One of the police hit Mr. Zhu twice with a pillow.
  • Mr. Liu Changping from Jinzhou City Sent to Forced Labour for the Third Time

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Changping, a taxi driver from Jinzhou City in Liaoning Province, was arrested on July 15th, 2009, and on August 12th he was transferred to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. This was the third time he had been sent to a forced labour camp. His family demanded to see him, but were refused without reason. When Mr. Liu was imprisoned in Jinzhou Forced Labour Camp he was twice locked in solitary confinement and handcuffed all day to a wooden board. After long-term mistreatment, his entire body became covered with scabies, which was unbearable, and his blood pressure rose to 220. He also lost consciousness twice, was attacked with electric batons, and beaten while hung up by his handcuffs.
  • Mr. Wang Wenzhang Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

    Mr. Wang Wenzhang is about 55 years old and comes from Fuhe Village in Liaoning Province. He owned a small department store in the village. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, the Wang family has been repeatedly persecuted by the authorities. In June 2009, Mr. Wang was taken away by the police. Three months later, according to reliable sources, he was sentenced to four years in prison by the Court of Tieling City.
  • Practitioners Persecuted in Guandong Village of Laishui County, Hebei Province

    In 2000, Xia Hongrui went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was later arrested and detained at Laishui County Detention Centre. Police paraded her through the streets with a sign hanging around her neck. At the detention centre, heat was provided for only ten or more days throughout the entire winter. The cells were always cold with wind blowing through the doors and windows. The inmates were forced to do slave labour, such as embroidering. They worked from early morning until late at night to finish the quotas. It was so cold that they often could not close their hands to form a fist, and some the inmates' hands were cracked and bleeding due to the cold. Dead mice were often seen floating in the vats with the pickles.
  • Nine Practitioners Arrested in Binxian County, Heilongjiang Province

    Prior to China's National Day on October 1st, 2009, police officers from Binxian County, Helongjiang Province arrested nine practitioners within two days, and they were held in the No. 2 Binxian County Detention Centre. broke into Ms.Yao Chunrong's home, where practitioners had gathered to study Falun Gong teachings together. The police arrested Ms.Yao and four other practitioners. They also confiscated Ms. Yao's personal belongings, including Falun Gong books. All practitioners were then taken to the No. 2 Binxian County Detention Centre.
  • Mr. Guo Huisheng from Jiahe County, Hunan Province Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Mr. Guo Huisheng and his wife Ms. Li Jumei wrote a letter to Xi Xiaogang, Director of the Lanshan County Police Department, to request the release of fellow practitioner Ms. Xiao Silan. As a result, they suffered brutal persecution from the local 610 Office. On August 6th, 2009, they were arrested by a group of police officers. Their home was searched when no one was home. Mr. Guo's hands were handcuffed behind his back, and he was held to the ground and beaten by four police officers. When he was brought to the police station, there was blood all over his head and face.
  • Practitioner Liu Rongming from Chongqing City Tortured

    In 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong. Mr. Liu Rongming was one of the many victims of the persecution. He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and and subjected to forced labour. Mr. Liu was forced to make several thousand paper boxes a day while he was in prison. He could not continue with this work because of his deteriorating vision. During his imprisonment, Mr. Liu was force-fed, and his stomach was injured in the process. Mr. Liu talked about Falun Gong to policeman Zhou, who directed prisoners to lock his thumbs together. Then they used a foot-long metal wire to connect a 15-kilogram (about 30 pounds) metal chain to his hands.
  • Jilin University Professor Ms. Zeng Lingwen Unjustly Charged

    Ms. Zeng Lingwen, 74, is a retired professor of physics who taught at Jilin University. She was arrested repeatedly for being a Falun Gong practitioner and taken to the detention centre, the drug rehabilitation centre and the forced labour camp in Changchun City. In the middle of July 2009, officials from the Changjiu Road Police Station in Changchun City came to Ms. Zeng's house to make an "in-home investigation." Seeing Falun Gong materials in the house, the police began to search everything and took away her personal belongings including her pension money. The police subsequently took Ms. Zeng to the police station for further questioning.
