• 62-Year-Old Shepherd Seized by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Thugs

  On July 22nd, 2007, 20 officials, and police arrived in four police cars, planning to arrest 62-year-old practitioner Ms. Li Yinhua. At that time, Ms. Li was grazing sheep at the river wall close to her home. When the officers saw her, they immediately forced her into the car. Ms. Li's husband, 68-year-old Mr. Yang Heng, witnessed these gangsters rush to his home without notice. When he stepped forward to try and stop them, several young officers forced him to the ground. After this violent attack, Mr. Yang required medical attention for several days. During the entire process, the thugs did not show any identification, provide any explanation, or give any receipts for property taken. Her family has gone there to ask for her release, but the guards' attitude was extremely unreasonable, and the family was not allowed to see Ms. Li.

• Practitioners Arrested by the 610 Office in Beijing's Haidian District

  Since March 2007, many practitioners in various parts of China have been arrested by the 610 Office. Beijing is no exception. In the Haidian District, the 610 Office captured several practitioners. In Haidian Detention Centre, every cell holds five to six practitioners and has a capacity for 30 or more. All of the captured practitioners are over the age of 60 and most of them are first time detainees.

• Guang'an District Court in Sichuan Province Sentences Falun Gong Practitioners

  Police from Guang'an City used various methods to monitor Falun Gong practitioners. On November 2nd, 2006, Yu Yi, the Political and Legal Committee secretary of Guang'an City, led more than twenty police officers to surround Mr. Xiang Lin's apartment. The police confiscated four laptops, a few printers and CD burners, and over one hundred thousand yuan worth of personal items including over ten thousand yuan in cash and bank deposit slips. The perpetrators then divided the computers and cash among themselves. They tried to force the practitioners to tell them the passwords to their bank accounts, but failed.

• Practitioner Ms. Yu Lili Detained in Weifang City, Shandong Province

  On July 24th, 2007, police and agents from the Weicheng Public Security Bureau arrested practitioner Ms. Yu Lili. She is now held in the Weifang City Detention Centre.Yu Lili, now in her fifties, started practising Falun Gong in 1997. She often tells people how she has benefited from practising Falun Gong. Just for this, she has been arrested and persecuted many times. During July and August of 2003, she was detained in a brainwashing centre in Weifang City where she was physically and mentally tortured.

• Daughter-in-law Arrested, Paralysed Elderly Person Helpless

  On June 12th, 2007, Guo Hongtang, Deputy Chief of the 610 Office of Shouguang City, Shandong Province, together with four officers dressed in plain clothes, drove a black car without a licence plate to Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiang Chunxiang's home in Shouguang City. Ms. Jiang's family members went to talk to the Party secretary of the village. The Party secretary phoned the police station to enquire about this matter, but the police denied arresting Ms. Jiang. The same afternoon, after asking for favours from acquaintances and giving away monetary items to insiders, Ms. Jiang's family members learned that she was being detained in a small cell in the police station. Ms. Jiang's husband, brother and sister-in-law were still not allowed to see her.

• Five Practitioners Seized and Tried in Ningxia Province

  Ningxia Provincial 610 Office ordered police to arrest five practitioners after following them and tapping their telephones. The practitioners were detained at the Yinchuan City Detention Centre and tortured. After secret trials were held for the practitioners, the authorities set up another one at the No. 6 Court in the Yinchuang City Court on July 11th, 2007. The sentences will be publicised in ten days.

• Police Arrest More than Thirty Practitioners in Dalian City Before the World Economic Forum

  On August 14th, 2007, the police simultaneously arrested around 36 Falun Dafa practitioners. Among them, nearly twenty were arrested in one practitioner's house. The Xincheng Accounting Firm in Dalian City was ransacked and ordered to cease operations. Many practitioners working there were arrested. Their homes have been broken into and ransacked one by one.

• Police Arrest Fourteen Practitioners during the Last Three Months in Yi County, Hebei Province

  The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime has been more rampant during the last three months in Yi County. Police have harassed and threatened practitioners in their homes. Tanghu Town was especially targeted. They went to the homes of every practitioner to harass, threaten and arrest them. In the last three months fourteen practitioners' homes have been ransacked. This caused a great deal of mental anguish for the families of the practitioners.

• Ailing Mother-in-law of Practitioner Ms. Zhao Hong Pleads for Her Release from a Brainwashing Centre and Is Physically Pushed Out by the Guards

  On July 12th, 2007, Ms. Zhao Hong and fellow practitioner Xiong Anhua were arrested by Wuhan city State Security police. Xiong Anhua was released and is back at home, but Zhao Hong is still being held in the Erdaopeng brainwashing centre. Her mother-in-law, just out of hospital and badly in need of someone to care for her, went to seek Zhao Hong's release from the brainwashing centre on July 20th, despite her frail condition. However, the guard did not allow her to see Ms. Zhao. The guard even shouted at her to get out, and threatened to call the police to haul her away if she didn't leave. This 80-year-old woman in tears was physically pushed out by the guard, and she has been sick in bed since she returned home.

• Mother and Son from Liaoning Province Arrested after Unfurling Banners on Tiananmen Square on July 20th, 2007

  On July 20th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Xu Hui and her son, Mr. Cai Chao went to Beijing together to unfurl banners on Tiananmen Square. They were arrested by officers from the Tiananmen Police Department and are being detained in the Dongcheng District Detention Centre. The banners they held up read: "Heaven Will Destroy the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)" and "Stop the CCP's Atrocity of Harvesting Living Falun Gong Practitioners' Organs!" The Dongcheng District Detention Centre refused to allow the family to visit and only provided a photo for the family to identify them. In the photo, Ms. Xu's face was very red, as if she had been beaten.

• Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Gong Xingcan, an Economist in Sichuan Province, Arrested Several Times for Practising Falun Gong

  Falun Gong practitioner and economist Ms. Gong Xingcan, who worked in the Deyang City Postal Bureau of Sichuan Province, has been arrested several times and sentenced to forced labour twice for practising Falun Gong. She was arrested again on April 26th, 2006 and has been imprisoned since then. She is now locked up in the notorious Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp in Zizhong, which is known for brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The persecution severely impacted Gong Xingcan's husband and parents. Her husband passed away under the huge mental pressure. The 610 Office fined and pressured her parents.

• Mr. Sun Yaoting Sentenced to Xinmi Men's Prison in Henan Province

  On May 8th, 2007, Mr. Sun Yaoting was secretly sent to Xinmi Men's Prison without his family being notified. The prison refused to take him since he could hardly breathe or walk, after he was tortured at a detention centre. His relatives were ordered to pay for a physical examination. A medical parole would be arranged through the courthouse if he was too sick, but he would be sent to Xinmi Men's Prison if his condition was not that bad. His family didn't have the money to pay for the exam, so the Yanshi City Political & Judiciary Committee found several so-called experts to examine him. They reported that his tuberculosis was negative and not contagious. On June 13th, 2007, Sun was sent to Xinmi Men's Prison. He had to be carried into the prison.

• Mr. Bian Liangjing Arrested Again and Elderly Practitioner Ms. Liu Qiaohui Arrested

  On the morning of July 11th, 2007, police broke into the home of Ms. Liu Qiaohu, a sixty-seven-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner, ransacked it, confiscated personal property and arrested her. Ms. Liu told the police, "There is nothing wrong with practising Falun Gong. There is nothing wrong with cultivating Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Your action is against the law." The police did not listen to them and instead kicked Ms. Liu and her elderly sister. Her body was black and blue from being kicked. The police refused to let Ms. Liu's family members visit her.

• College Junior Zhang Kai Sentenced to Three-Year Prison Term

  In late April 2007, police arrested 21-year-old student, Mr. Zhang Kai, a Falun Dafa practitioner, and sentenced him to three years in prison simply because of an article on the Internet. We are unaware of any law that defines Internet articles that students are not permitted to publish. Police had earlier arrested Mr. Zhang's mother and sent her to a forced labour camp after a plainclothes agent reported her for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. The details of her persecution soon appeared on the Internet. The police found a computer while they were at Mr. Zhang's home. Because the computer belonged to Mr. Zhang, they went to the University of International Trade in Qingdao City and arrested him.

• Practitioner Chen Xiaodong From Anhui Province Arrested Again Two Years After Serving a Five-Year Prison Term

  On June 12th, 2007, Hong Yang (male), a Fuyang City public security officer, arrested practitioner Mr. Chen Xiaodong, from Fuyang City, Anhui Province. Mr. Chen is detained in the Taihe County Detention Centre. "To undergo more severe persecution," sources said, "his case has been turned over to Taihe Prosecutor's Office." In 2000, Mr. Chen was sentenced to five years of imprisonment because of his steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. It has been only two years since he served his five-year prison term. His mother and grandmother could not endure the blow of his imprisonment, and they passed away one after the other.
