  • Mr. Yu Yungang Tortured to Death in Jiamusi City Prison Shortly after Mr. Qin Yueming's Death

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Yungang was involved in exposing the persecution of Falun Gong by using loud speakers during the 2009 Winter College Student Sports Games. Police arrested him along with over 20 practitioners in February 2009, ransacked their homes, and tortured them brutally. Mr. Yu was tortured by the police hanging him up by his handcuffs, and cruelly beating and severely injuring him. When he was interrogated several days later, his head was still wrapped with a bandage. On July 7th, 2009, he was sentenced to six years, and locked in Jiamusi Prison. On March 1st, 2001 Mr. Yu passed out due to torture, and was rushed to hospital, however, he died on March 5th. Another practitioner, Mr. Qin Yueming died from torture in the prison shortly before Mr. Yu.
  • Ms. Wang Cuilan Passed Away as a Result of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Persecution in Shandong Province

    Ms. Wang Cuilan, a Falun Gong practitioner in Shandong province, suffered cruel persecution in a forced labour camp, which resulted in her suffering central facial paralysis and other diseases. After being released she was frequently harassed and monitored by the officers from the forced labour camp. Ms. Wang Cuilan passed away on January 24th, 2011 due to the cruel persecution, at the age of sixty-eight.
  • Facts about the Persecution of Three Falun Gong Practitioners in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province

    Ms. Fu Ping had many illnesses healed through the practice of Falun Gong. During more than ten years of persecution, Ms. Feng was detained many times. Ms. Feng was arrested again in December 2007 and taken to the Mianyang City Detention Centre. The police ordered her son to write a guarantee statement to renounce practising Falun Gong on her behalf, otherwise they wouldn't let him bail her out. They even extorted money from him. In 2008, she was forced to leave home because the local court tried to bring her to trial and sentence her. Living a homeless life for several years, her illnesses returned. After becoming paralysed and bedridden for more than a year, she died in August 2010.
  • Mr. Qin Yueming Tortured to Death in Jiamusi Prison

    On February 26th, 2011, Mr. Qin Yueming's wife received a phone call from Jiamusi Prison informing her that Mr. Qin had suffered a sudden heart attack and died. She was summoned to come to the prison to finish a “necessary procedure.” Jiamusi Prison set up a “Harsh Management Team” for the purpose of reaching an 85-per cent “transformation” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] rate among Falun Gong practitioners. Since February 21st, selected practitioners have been handed over to the “Harsh Management Team.” Every practitioner is watched by several prisoners, and under constant pressure every day to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. Mr. Qin Yueming was transferred to the “Harsh Management Team” on February 21st, and died six days later.
  • Mr. Shi Hongbo from Dalian City Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shi Hongbo was arrested by police on October 14th, 2008. Mr. Shi was later subjected to forced labour and physically abused and tortured at the Dalian Forced Labour Camp. He was covertly transferred to the Weiningying Law “Transformation” Centre (a brainwashing centre) in Benxi City in September 2009, where he was shocked with electric batons and subjected to beatings. He developed symptoms of serious illnesses and was released on April 1st, 2010. Mr. Shi developed a persistent high fever, coughed, and weakened steadily. He died on February 28th, 2011.
  • Ms. Zhang Ying Dies Away from Home

    Prior to learning Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang Ying suffered for many years with life-threatening illness. After practising Falun Gong in 1997, she became well. But after the persecution began, her workplace forced Ms. Zhang to choose between giving up Falun Gong or being fired. Ms. Zhang had to to give up her job, as otherwise she would die from her illnesses. Ten years of moving from place to place to make a living, coupled with ongoing pressure from the large-scale persecution, placed a great deal of stress on Ms. Zhang. Her health deteriorated and she found out that she had breast cancer in 2008. She died in 2009 in Huachuan City, far from home.
  • Researchers Unravel Horrors in China

    The story was hard to stomach—gruesome, at the very least. What started as a rumour, however, would later unfold into a campaign of brutality and horror perpetrated by the Chinese regime. International human rights lawyer David Matas was in his office when the story broke in March 2006. It flowed into his e-mail box along with the flood of human rights updates he reads daily. It told the story of a woman under the pseudonym “Annie,” whose husband suffered nightmares, as he suffered for the terror he had inflicted on more than 2,000 people. Annie said her husband, a surgeon, was employed by the Chinese regime to remove the corneas from living Falun Gong practitioners, slicing their eyes open with his scalpel while they were still alive. The rest of their organs were also stripped from their bodies, all to feed a market of illicit organ trade.
  • Doctor Cao Chunqiang Dies after Beatings and Forced Labour

    Doctor Cao Chunqiang used to have his own clinic in the Sanhekou Community in Longmen Town. Because he practised Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel kept harassing him, forcing him to close the clinic in May 2004 and find other work. In 2006, police arrested him. Seven officers beat and kicked him brutally, severely injuring his head, ear, and genitals. Police said he was arrested for practising Falun Gong, and giving people materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. His left ear festered, and his other injuries were not treated. Police had him do forced labour in a detention centre for 18 months, then took him to the Xinhua Men's Forced Labour Camp. In 2007, the authorities had to release him due to his ill health. Mr. Cao died of liver cancer on January 4th, 2010. He was 37 years old.
  • Ms. Xing Yue's Family Members Arrested after Inquiring About Her Death at Shijiazhuang Women's Prison in Hebei Province

    We recently learned that practitioner Ms. Xing Yue was beaten to death in a solitary confinement cell at the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison in Hebei Province. She was killed between January 8th and 10th, 2011. Her family went to the local detention centre to verify the details, but the detention centre officials lied, and claimed that Ms. Xing was still alive. Three relatives went to the county 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) to request Ms. Xing's release, but they were arrested. Two of them are still in custody.
  • Violent Persecution in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, Liaoning

    I went to Beijing to appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in 2000, and was arrested and sent to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning. This particular forced labour camp is notorious for its human rights violations. While I was there, I saw all too much evil. Falun Gong prisoners had to get up at 5:00 a.m. We had to work in the workshops, making flowers, sweaters, crafts, and cotton clothing for export. We were exposed to harmful chemicals every day. We worked long days, until 10:00 p.m., and sometimes past midnight. One practitioner named Su Juzhen was tortured to death. They would not let her sleep at night and forced her to squat for long periods of time.
  • Ms. Chen Laidi Dies in Shanghai

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Laidi lived close to the Shanghai 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). During the 2008 Olympics, officers continued to harass Ms. Chen at home and threatened her. Later when Ms. Chen went out of town, the Shanghai 610 Office agents picked the lock to her door, entered her home and ransacked it. After that, Ms. Chen found herself being constantly followed. Someone saw her right before May 1st, 2010, and she was in good health at the time, but only two weeks later, police said she died in her home. Ms. Chen was found dead in her home on May 11th, days after she died.
  • Additional Information on How Mr. Pei Yanqing Was Tortured to Death

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Pei was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour on September 3rd, 2010, after police found Falun Gong books and informational materials at his home. He was sent to the Qinhuangdao City Labour Camp. To try and get Mr. Pei to give up his faith, guards tortured him with sleep deprivation. Guards would beat him cruelly when he said that he still wanted to practise Falun Gong. In February 2011, Mr. Pei's whole body was swollen, his chest was blackened with bruises, he had difficulty breathing, he could not walk, and his face was deformed. He passed away on February 20th. He was 60 years old.
  • Facts Regarding the Persecution of Huo Shuxiang from Dongning County, Heilongjiang Province

    Huo Shuxiang became healthy both mentally and physically after she began practising Falun Gong in 1998. She was a good and conscientious worker. In June 2007, she was arrested. Three policemen cuffed and beat Ms. Huo severely. They hit her chest fiercely. They forcefully lifted her up by the throat with their hands. She fell limply to the ground. She couldn't stop coughing, and for a long time she couldn't get up. Her physical condition continued to deteriorate to the point that it was even difficult to walk. Later, she went to the doctor, who diagnosed her with fluid in the chest and heart disease. She passed away on November 23rd, 2008 as a result of her from injuries.
  • Additional Information about the Persecution and Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Gao Jinling from Liaoyang City

    Ms. Gao Jinling died in 2003 as a result of physical abuse during her detention. While exposing the persecution of Falun Gong when visiting her hometown in 2003, someone reported her to the police. She was arrested and police beat her badly. Without following any legal procedures, the police took Ms. Gao directly to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. However, after a physical, the labour camp officials would not accept her. The police had no choice but to take her back home. Four agents, whose names need to be confirmed, were involved in the death of Ms. Gao.
  • Mr. Huang Cheng, 56, Dies in Liaoning Province after Years of Severe Torture

    Mr. Huang Cheng used to have severe health problems but after practising Falun Gong, all of his sicknesses disappeared. Mr. Huang was very considerate of others and was well-liked by friends and work colleagues. However, because of the persecution of Falun Gong, from 1999 to 2010, Huang Cheng was arrested and taken into custody 15 times. During those years, he was held in police stations, detention centres,drug rehabilitation centres, brainwashing centres, forced labour camps and prisons. He suffered severe physical torture as well as financial extortion, harassment, and his home was ransacked. The Taihe District Court sentenced Mr. Huang to six years in prison in August 2008. He was mercilessly tortured. Mr. Huang died on February 24th, 2011.
