  • Mr. Ci Hai from Qiqihar Dies after Enduring Torture in Tailai Prison

    Mr. Ci Hai developed liver ascites and other illnesses after enduring many years of mental and physical abuse by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 2006, he was sentenced to four years in prison by the Tiefeng District Court. Mr. Ci was finally released in 2011 after four years of brutal torture. He no longer had a job and had no income. He was in a deep depression and developed liver ascites and other illnesses. He became emaciated and his complexion turned yellowish. He developed many pustules all over his body. The pustules burst and discharged pus. Mr. Ci died in great pain on the evening of August 23rd at the age of 39.
  • Ms. Guo Min Dies after Eleven Years of Unjust Confinement in a Mental Hospital

    Ms. Guo Min began cultivating Falun Gong in 1996, and benefited both in mind and body. In March 2000, the persecution escalated, but she did not want to give up her faith even though she was under huge pressure from her family, employer, and the community. She was arrested and taken to mental hospitals, where she was locked up for more than eight years. People still saw that she had a clear mind, with no mental illness symptoms. She endured physical and mental tortures. She had been haemorrhaging since July 2010, and the doctor found that she was in the late stages of uterine cancer. She died on August 4th.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Cui Peiying from Beijing Died after Years of Persecution and Torture in Detention

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cui Peiying was incarcerated in forced labour camps twice. As a result of torture and abuse, her health kept deteriorating. Ms. Cui's legs were swollen and she was in great pain. They cut an opening in her legs to drain them of pus and blood. The swelling disappeared only after the pus and blood were drained. In July 2011, Ms. Cui started to have bladder and bowel incontinence and eventually wasn't able to take care of herself. She passed away on August 19th.
  • Mr. Li Xiwang Died in Agony as a Result of More than Ten Hours of “Anchor Torture”

    Because Mr. Li Xiwang practised Falun Gong, the police arrested him and his wife Ms. Chen Liyan on December 21st, 2010 and sent the couple to Hexi Detention Centre. Six months later, Mr. Li was covertly sentenced and transferred to Binhai Prison on July 18th, 2011. Just ten days into his incarceration he lost his life. It is now confirmed that Mr. Li died as a result of “anchor torture,” an extremely brutal torture.
  • Elderly Ms. Zou Jin, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Changsha City, Died as a Result of Persecution

    Ms. Zou Jin was subjected to brutal torture and insult by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). She died in extreme pain on March 2011 at the age of 77. In 2001 Ms. Zou was arrested and sentenced to nine years in prison on a fabricated charge, only for practising Falun Gong. She was subjected to inhuman torture. The guards often interrogated her, shocked her with electric batons, pulled and slammed her head against the wall, deprived her of sleep, made her stand for the whole night and did not give her any food or water. Guards also raped her and shoved an electric baton inside her to shock her.
  • Ms. Xie Zhiying, 52, Dies After Torture and Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xie Zhiying was detained in a mental hospital twice without reason, just for cultivating Falun Gong. Though perfectly normal, she was tortured violently in Alar City Mental Hospital, including electric baton abuses, forced-feedings, high-dosed drug injections, solitary confinement, denied family visitations and more. Her employer, under the influence of the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), held her captive seven years without the right of visitation of her family. She died suddenly on August 6th, but the 610 Office authorities have not allowed her family to see the body.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Persecuted to Death in Changchun City, China

    After suffering a year of persecution at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in a forced labour camp, Falun Gong practitioner Yang Mingli was released into his younger brother's custody. Yang Mingli had to be carried down on his younger brother's back from the third floor of the labour camp building. He was not able to recover from the torture he had suffered, and passed away on May 10th.
  • The Sufferings of Retired Official Mr. Fu Zhongxing Before His Death

    After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Fu Zhongxing and his family members were mistreated and harassed. In 2000, Mr. Fu's oldest son was sentenced to three years of forced labour for appealing in Beijing. His oldest daughter-in-law was deceived by the propaganda and left home. Mr. Fu had to take care of their daughter. His second daughter-in-law was also detained. Mr. Fu had to take care of their daughter as well. In December 2000, his oldest daughter and son-in-law were detained. Mr. Fu had to take care of his third granddaughter. Mr. Fu passed away on June 25th, 2001, at the age of 76.
  • Mr. Pan Benyu, Who Once Saved Six People's Lives, Died as a Result of Relentless Persecution and Torture

    Because Mr. Pan Benyu firmly believed in Falun Gong and followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, he was sentenced to forced labour camp twice and sentenced to imprisonment twice (once four years, once seven years). After suffering repeated abuse and torture in police custody, he passed away at 1:00 a.m. on July 17th. His death certificate and medical records had been altered by the authorities.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Huang Tao Persecuted to Death

    Ms. Huang Tao was arrested on January 9th, 2005 by police. She was sentenced to four years in the No. 2 Women's Prison, where she was forced to do hard labour. Due to the harsh treatment and poor conditions, she developed severe diabetes and lost a lot of weight. She was finally released in December 2006 to seek medical treatment. The authorities continued to harass Ms. Huang after her release, and withheld her pension from January 2005 to January 2009. She became increasingly weak and her condition deteriorated. Ms. Huang Tao passed away on July 28th, 2011.
  • Mr. Feng Qi Dies as a Result of Persecution in Suzhou No. 3 Prison, Anhui Province

    Mr. Feng Qi was arrested on March 1st, 2008 and he was taken to the Changfeng County Detention Centre. Mr. Feng was sentenced to three years in a forced labour camp, and was transferred to the Suzhou No. 3 Prison. Practitioners are forced to watch videos and read materials slandering Falun Gong. Whenever practitioners refuse, guards order inmates to beat them. Mr. Feng was left physically disabled as a result of the torture he endured. Mr. Feng Qi passed away on July 31st.
  • School Teacher Ms. Zhang Shuling from Suihua, Heilongjiang Province Dies As a Result of Persecution

    Teacher Ms. Zhang Shuling was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on July 5th, and later held in the Nongken Detention Centre in Suihua City. She passed away on July 30th. Ms. Zhang taught her students according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but had been subjected many times to persecution at the hands of local police and her school officials. She was fired from her job, and was arrested on November 26th, 2003 as she was distributing information about Falun Gong and given a three-year prison term. The three-year persecution left Ms. Zhang physically and mentally devastated.
  • Ms. Ding Zhenfang, 62, Dies after Three Years of Barbaric Torture in Liaoning Women's Prison

    Ms. Ding Zhenfang, 62, died as a result of torture in Liaoning Province Women's Prison on August 1st. Ms. Ding was sentenced to eight years in prison in July 2008 and has been incarcerated in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. Trying to force her to give up her faith, the prison authorities put her in a small confinement cell and used all kinds of ruthless methods to torture her. When Ms. Ding's family members arrived to see her one afternoon in September 2008, prison officials made all kinds of excuses to keep them from seeing her. When her family went to see her two years later, on August 2nd, 2010, the prison authorities only allowed her husband to see her after prolonged negotiation. She was carried out of her prison cell on a stretcher; she was skeleton-like, spoke haltingly, and was very feeble.
  • Ms. Yang Xiaohua, 42, from Chifeng City Passed Away in 2007

    When Ms. Yang Xiaohua's husband left her and her daughter, she became seriously ill. She was very poor and could not afford medical treatment, so she suffered from her illnesses for many years. After she began to practise Falun Gong, all of her illnesses soon disappeared and her health improved. In 2001, a policeman went to Ms. Yang's home and shouted at her angrily, saying that he had not been given bonuses and was not promoted because she practised Falun Gong. He then arrested her and took her to the police station. Ms. Yang was detained for several months, and was then transferred to the Tumuji Forced Labour Camp in Inner Mongolia in November 2001. She was made to do forced labour and was tortured every day at the camp. Unable to continue practising Falun Gong, her physical health quickly deteriorated. After her release in March 2003, Ms. Yang was continually harassed and threatened by the authorities. Ms. Yang Xiaohua passed away in 2007.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Ou Jiafa from Chenxi County, Hunan Province, Died from Forced Administration of Unknown Drugs

    Mr. Ou Jiafa, in his 60s, died in May 2011. In 2002, he was sentenced to three years in prison for practicing Falun Gong. He was held in the Huaihua City Brainwashing Centre in September 2007. Those in charge forced Mr. Ou to take drugs that destroyed his central nervous system. As a result he walked slowly, drooled, and spoke unintelligibly. He never recovered. Chenyang Town 610 Office personnel (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) went to Mr. Ou's home frequently in March 2010 to harass him, sometimes as often as twice a week. They confiscated his personal belongings. When he accused the agents of taking things, they said, “The government allows us to steal.” He was even harassed before his death.
